Dawnpaw couldn't help but purr in amusement.

"I still can't believe she's so small. She looks like a kit that has just been apprenticed," Dawnpaw mewed, lightening up. "Watching her fight must be quite a sight," he added mischievously, his eyes glinting as he pictured the leader attempting to wrestle a full fledged warrior.

Dawnpaw couldn't help but purr in amusement.

"I still can't believe she's so small. She looks like a kit that has just been apprenticed," Dawnpaw mewed, lightening up. "Watching her fight must be quite a sight," he added mischievously, his eyes glinting as he pictured the leader attempting to wrestle a full fledged warrior.

Firesong nodded. "To tell the truth, I was surprised that she was so skilled. She's pretty good at using her small size to her advantage. It's not often you get to see a good fight from her, though. Usually Blazewhisper doesn't give her a chance." Firesong nudged the young apprentice playfully. She wanted to ask how he was feeling, but felt that taking his mind off of the matter for a while was a better idea.

Dawnpaw sneered as he looked up at his mentor. "I am sure she doesn't stand a chance with her size."

"Actually, it's her wits that gets her through a battle," came Kindlestar's voice as she entered the nursery, her whiskers giving a small twitch as she glanced at Firesong.

She had just been out to get Cloudyheart and Solarpaw and was about to begin the ceremony. However, she wanted to see how the medicine cat's den current residents were getting along.

Firesong's ears twitched. "Hey, Kindlestar. It has been awhile since i've seen you fight. Usually Blazewhisper makes crowfood of anyone who dares to try and fight you before you can say newleaf." She looked questioningly at both Dawnpaw and Kindlestar. She needed to see how these to were going to respond to each other now that they'd both had a little while to cool their paws.

Blazewhisper walked in next to kindlestar blushing. "i do not!" she started but when a leaf was about to hit kindlestar in the face she swiped it away cutting it in half with her claws. "stuipd leaf! dont touch kindlestar!" she growled.

Waterpaw giggled at Blazewhisper

Kindlestar looked up at Blazewhisper and gave her a friendly nudge.

"That's because Blazewhisper fears for the other cat," she joked. She looked back at the medicine cat and cleared her throat, her ear giving a small twitch in embarrasment at her small sign of carefreeness, something she had been trying to rid herself of ever since she had become leader. "How are the hurt doing?" she asked her, attempting to put a serious front again.

Dawnpaw's ear gave a curious twitch. It was the first time he had seen Kindlestar joking around, and her semblance had been peaceful for once. If this was the cat that she did not show to be, then he was sure she would understand that he had not intentionally hurt Firesong. His ears perked up at this and his eyes grew bright, wondering if he should ask what was going to become of him or not.

Firesong nodded. "Everyone's doing okay. Sharpclaw's wounds are healing well, and neither Dawnpaw nor i are seriously hurt."  

[Kitsune Thistletree]

]Kindlestar nodded. "Good. I must commence Solarpaw's naming ceremony now," she mewed, and turned to leave.

Dawnpaw watched her until she was at the entrance of Firesong's den.

"Kindlestar, wait," he mewed, padding after her.

Thornpaw padded into the medicine den, avoiding his brother's gaze.

Kindlestar stopped and turned around. She left some room for Thornpaw to enter, and noticed the young apprentice avoiding his brother's stare. She turned her calm yellow gaze to Dawnpaw.

"Yes?" she asked, her voice neutral.

"What about me?" he asked, his voice determined as he stepped forward. "I tried to kill Firesong. It wasn't intentional. I have no idea what came over me, but I know that you aren't about to just ignore it," he mewed, staring back at her.

Firesong looked proudly at the young apprentice. It took a lot of guts to broach the subject with Kindlestar.

Kindlestar looked up at the apprentice and narrowed her eyes a little. "You are right. You should be punished. However, sometimes, silence in itself is the worst punishment one can get. I need some time to think this out, and in the meantime, you can meditate on the damage that you have done, and how maybe, if you followed orders, and if you weren't so full of yourself, this may have been avoided," she mewed, then turned around again, heading over to the Fire Rock.

Dawnpaw glanced at where Kindlestar was padding off to, his gaze following her and his mouth open. He snorted and muttered, "Since when have I been full of myself?"

He dragged himself to the corner of the clearing, his ears flattened a little as he thought of what Kindlestar had just said.

Thornpaw's ears flatted and watched Kindlestar and Dawnpaw exited. "Dawnpaw is not so full of himself, he cares about others...too. It just happened." whispered Thornpaw, suddenly shivering for no good reason. His eyes darken as he went toward the end of the den.
