Flames Fuel Cat Sapphire mistymountaingirl The mind boggling amount of items that are available now, with more being churned out every day is one of my pet peeves. The announcements are constantly trying to get us to buy more, buy more, buy more! This really takes away from the fun of the site for me. The emphasis used to be on fun & there were evolving items & more fun events (because more work was put into them) but now everything fun is half done or not at all. It's sad. Exactly! I like that we get a reward for clicking on announcements on the home page, extra gold and gc is always welcome. I'm just confused as to why we are then spammed with the exact same announcements. I have no interest in chance items that are bland and uninteresting. Give me something to get excited about, like a nice old fashioned evolving item! I'm an Angel Subscriber because I want to support the site, please stop constantly asking me to buy more gc.Put more work into making things fun and I will buy more. it's as simple as that. Despite how many of them exist, I'd forgotten about the EI's for a sec.... ninja Those were fun to keep tabs on.
They were fun to watch and try to guess how they would evolve. I miss those fun things about Gaia! |

I miss the evolving items too! It was always my goal to collect them all.
With all the items they keep pushing out they could easily turn a collaboration of the items into one nice little EI. If they have to, then make it a LQI EI, just thinking out of the box here.... It would be nice if it slowed down a little thought seems like there is too much concentration on just making items when it is operational features we want to see the most. sad
It is nice to see the Arenas have some attention paid to it, but guilds could really really really use some attention and features. Even if they had to put some really nice guild features behind a pay wall, I'm sure a group of guild members could come up with the funds to do so.
But the announcements are redundant when they do not need to be. And they can easily cut out quite a few since we have features for them, some could be tweaked a little.
They could stop the bonus sales announcements because we have the little percentage tag right next to the GC total that tells us what bonus they are offering that split second! No need for that anymore!
The Tiered sales are just as obvious as the bonus tag. It's right there on the header everywhere we navigate. We don't need announcements for that either.
As for the Angel Subscription announcements. All they have to do is make the little angel wing tag,  , blink/glow/glitter, whatever so that we can know there is a new alert associated with it, so we click on it. Chop out those announcements too.
Narwheel/Spinami/Catch, There are icons for that, they could use these the same way I suggested Angel Subscription Wing
  
It pops up, blinks/glows/glitters whenever there is a notice!
Do the same for these features too
 
Discard a whole hell of a lot of announcements that we don't need. If they did this, they wouldn't have to cycle through them so much that we miss something new and important. gonk
As for mobile Gaia, the only thing I really care about is getting mobile notifications, for Gaia notifications that I have enabled, things like "items sold", quotes, PMs, ect ect. to start. Something like this would keep site activity up, which should be the main focus for a mobile app for starters. The other features like shopping, and forums and god-forbid equipping items (because there are too damn many items and our inventories are a disaster) can follow as they are built. Just get it out there crying

Same. the GCash spam from 2013 is back with a vengeance. Ironically, despite the large amount of items we have we're passing through a big recession of items: mostly of the stuff you want from MarketPlace either has zero items or has a ludicrous price tag due to the old adage of supply and demand, you know. Oh, and the only way to get some decent incoming is still Lake Kindred, where you have to deal with the cheating AI which's the salt in the wound. You can actually get some good incoming from there but it takes a while, specially if you're busy or not in the mood to grind for gold/plat. I remember it took me 8 weeks to reach 7 trillion gold + resisting the urge to waste money and RIGs to achieve so, and in the end I was very bored of the game. And guess what ? This. Wasn't. Enough. I've noticed that there were some improvements here and there, like they increased the trade and selling cap, removed the soulbound status from the Wing Stickers (which's great if you have mules), however there's space for more of it, like: - Selective announcements: let us choose which and how type of messages we wanna get; - Invest more in Spinami: it's a good idea to refill and resupply zero-listed items and deflate those who are out of control. Why not make it a weekly rotation and let us spend gold/plat to spin it one more time ?; - Make the Runway grant prizes to Gaians who make it to the first page instead of giving them to only the top 10. It can be even an item of their choice, not just money prizes. - Encourage people to use GoFusion by increasing its range of items and make charms more accessible; - More gold/plat sink events to make the site more active and less of the barren wasteland it is now, which's one of the reasons why the MP is a ghost town, with a lot of zero-listed items.
All of those seem like great ideas however another thing that came to mind is how flash worlds are somehow degrading in places to hang out. I run several guilds that used to use flash spaces as hangouts and meeting places. Unfortunately I joined gaia after they did major alteratons such as removing towns pools and certain areas in towns 2 that are now no longer available. We need more places to hang out not less. I would love to see houses get an upgrade with seperate rooms and floors possibly a backyard/garden feature to houses as well. I'd love to see more custom car skins for rallies. I once suggested having classic car skins for custom concept bases. One idea was a 57 chevy-like car or a 58 plymouth fury in honor of steven kings christine (my favorite book by him btw next to the shining). Or maybe some sort of 50s inspired retrofuturistic Atompunk car like those seen in fallout 4.
Also more Zomg rings would be good and possibly bigger payouts in Zomg. Probably owning more than one house in gaia neighborhoods would be nice too.
However I agree there needs to be more gold sink events and possibly a hard reset on all marketplace values because introducing plat wasnt good enough and made things a bit worse in the long run. A good supplemental idea is add a shop similar to Rococo that rereleases zero listing or too expensive items for plat/gold instead of just Gcash and a shop that rereleases usermade and exclusive items.
I think our first priorities should be things that will improve the economy and the overall experience of the site.
I like some of the new items but tbh i think more should be spent into making custom items being a cheaper, quicker, and easier process. What better way to engage the community than making it easier for users to actually contribute item wise. We need a new item renaissance in this regard. Some of the new schemes are just redundant such as the transparent scheme (you cannot even see the avi ffs, whats the point in seeing nothing?) |

Oh, well remembered. Mostly of the flash(now HTML5) places are also equally barren, and users are reporting the rampant cases of harassment and cybering in both "Towns" sections, which's a pity.
Wish Gaia could care more about those places and give us something like daily prizes or rewards for logging in in those places. But first they need to deal with the toxicity it has now.
I myself don't bother going to zOMG since all I need is to kill some Sycamortes and farm RIGs/Halloween Kandies to reach my gold objectives without caps or any sort of limitations. They could just have a place like Kindred Wilds or Zen Garden where you can farm solo or in groups to get some decent income.
Exactly. The MP now is a shadow of what it used to be, and so far the Platinum proved to be just the beginning of something great to come in regards to Gaia Economy. However, we have yet to see such improvements.
I agree with this idea. In fact, I'd be better if it was a more active and improved "Loyal's Bazaar" + "Dernier Cri" + "Rococo" without requiring to login for X days, with the options for both GCash and Gold like it does in the other gold shops.
Yeah. Gaia is lacking in both right now, and it's showing its cracks: our economy is stagnated and the experience becomes compromised due to it, since people won't be able to buy the items they want due to "n" reasons.
If only said items used to create items weren't so rare (the eponymous tickets), we'd certainly having a much more variety of items and recolors right now.
Also: One Ticket = 1 trillion or more gold to buy. I'd be nice if there was actual tickets which you could buy at the gold shops which allowed you to craft an item with at least one pose, so it could be sold in Loyal or somewhere else (like Flynn's MP shop, for example).
I've never saw these transparent scheme, though. They seem to be just like other color schemes which IMHO aren't that pleasant for the eyes. |
