That's usually exactly what happens to me, but this time I was determined it wouldn't happen - and even the ending of the novel (which originally was going to be almost romantic and hopeful in the romance sense) ended up being less romantic than planned, so I'm somewhat pleased. Of course I still have romance: Adele falls for Eddie, a boy who she's never really spent much time with, but who listens to her when she needs him; and in her memories we see her undying love for a man who is engaged to another woman. He tries to support her as he only truly loves her, but sadly fails. X3 Sort of.

Blah. I wish people could read this BEFORE I get my proof copy, and tell me what I need to change to make it better. I have no idea. x____x

Haha yeah. My characters just have a way to get together and it should irritate me but I love a bit of romance. It sounds good anyway your story!
The University I accepted doesn't seem to think teenagers are capable of writing novels so they will get a shock when they see me xD

Haha, I suppose it's actually a down-side to being at UEA that people think you should be so much better at writing than you are. X3

I just got some really severe feedback on my prologue, and now I think the whole novel needs much more work than I first thought. This is worrying. D=

Ooo that must hurt. I hate people reading my work...

Not really. It was helpful feedback, and while I didn't agree with all of it, they raised some valid points (about narrator consistency, my first line and excessive unnecessary words), so I don't have to listen to all of it but it gives me editing some direction after the basic spelling/grammar. : D

I used to hate people criticising my work, but since coming to UEA I've realised that it's the only way I'm going to get better. x____x

Yeah I know what you mean. I post some of my more rubbish work online and get positive feedback from it when I know it's pretty crap but then I give my best work to my dad to look over to submit to Uni's and he changes the whole thing haha. However, that is what I get from a Dad who would be a writer if he had the time!

lol that's kind of how my dad is... well he doesn't have any ideas for books by my knowledge, but if i need someone to edit a small paper i go to him... he will not read my novles, but he'll at least make sure i don't fail because of dyslexia xD

Now playing: Glee Cast (Lea Michelle) - Taking Chances

But what do you say to taking chances, what do you say to jumping off the edge? Never knowing if there's solid ground below, or hand to hold, or hell to pay...

So, progress! I've not been around much lately, because I've been incredibly busy. >_> I've been doing assignment writing, a little editing, and more reading than I swear should be humanly possible. xd

  • Finish Gunmetal and Lace as soon as humanly possible.
  • Attempt to write short stories for both of the guild contests (ONE DOWN!)
  • Do all necessary reading for course (This is on-going, but I've not missed anything recently. Just gotta keep it up until Easter!)
  • But also reading for pleasure too - my course reading has become my pleasure reading! Yay?
  • Don't get distracted from assignments in the meantime!
  • Go through GaL with a finetooth language comb (In progress!!)
  • Fix all plot holes
  • Create .pdf document with correct page sizes, font sizes, etc. (I may need help here! I always screw up my margines...)
  • Create front cover/back cover for the novel
  • Upload to createspace.com and get that damn proofcopy ordered!

I've not done any yoga in the last week, but I have been running a lot. I'm hoping to get back ito the swing of my yoga this week, to balance out. I will do both running AND yoga! I'm determined. I miss it otherwise.

EDITING PROGRESS:
* Prologue edited!
* Chapter one edited!
* Chapter two edited!
* Chapter three in progress...

In other news: I should get back to reading. Editing must come later. >_>

Yay, progress?

I just want to start again, and maybe you could show me how to try - and maybe you could take me in somewhere underneath your skin?

Yay for progress and it's good seeing those lines crossing out done and dusted things! I'm on editing myself and it's a pain! Haha, good luck!

Yes it is! But it's going to be worth it in the end, I hope!

Yeah, I'm sure of that!

Now playing: Take That - Trouble With Me

Baby, baby I'm not crazy, I just wear my heart on my sleeve. I never think it over or say maybe, oh and that's the trouble with me...

Again I've been busy recently, but I'm making some progress on Gunmetal and Lace's editing, so that's something! I've decided to spell check and work on wording/sentence structure all as I go through (and pick out any obvious errors with continuity while doing it). I'm hoping I won't need to do any major rewrites or plot overhauls, because that will mean my progress will slow down.

I guess, if rewriting needs to be done, it'll be on the later chapters. For now it should still be quite smooth sailing. I hope.

  • Attempt to write short stories for both of the guild contests (ONE DOWN!)
  • Go through GaL with a finetooth language comb (In progress!!)

Again no yoga done, but I've still been running, which is tiring me out. This weekend, when I visit home, we'll see if the hard work has been worth it and whether I've lost any weight! I feel like I might have lost a bit, and one of my flatmates said I looked a bit thinner today. :3

EDITING PROGRESS:
* Prologue edited!
* Chapter one edited!
* Chapter two edited!
* Chapter three edited!
* Chapter four edited!
* Chapter five in progress...

I follow my emotions, they always call my name -
you tell me how you're feeling, I'm sure I'll feel the same...

Cor, you are definitely speeding through those chapters! I wish I had that speed and the time lol.

In all honesty, there's nothing speedy about it. I mean, not really. I'm not rewriting anything, just checking for spelling and grammar (and even my grammar might be off, really...) I should probably take it more slowly, but I want to get my spelling and stuff out of the way. I could probably rewrite some bits, but part of me doesn't want to, and so I'm just giving the story the barest of edits. Towards the end it will probably need more work, when my plot starts to go crazy. gonk
