Ashkit nodded then turned and leaped on the closest kit which happened to be shadowkit. "hey!" she(he?) yelped. Ashkit growled happily. "gotchya!!"

Moonlight purred, "Be nice, you two." She licked Ashkit's and Shadowkit's heads. Heatherkit and Nightkit watch near by.

Riverpaw's head was all jumbled up. She really liked this new cat, Bear, but was what she feeling more than a friendly feeling? She shook her head, flinging a spiderweb off. "Finaly! Free! I remember how scared I was the first time..." she purred, drinking in the warm sunlight. Bear looked at Riverpaw confused, but then remembered how she had escaped before. "So... can you teach me how to hunt now?" he mewed, falling into step with the pretty tabby. "Sure!" Riverpaw said, cocking her ears, and listening for the sound of prey. She picked out a vole, 3 tail-lengths away. She guided Bear through the hunting crouches and then lunged for it, catching it squarely between the shoulder blades. She bit into it and cried out in disgust. "Crowfood!" she shreiked, dropping it and bounding over to her friend. "Its rotten... and its not even dead yet..." she trailed, a scared look haunting her eyes. Then it all came flooding back to her..... her encounter with Mintleaf, the old cat telling her she needed to find the danger.... Riverpaw backed up. "We need to go to our camp NOW! A terrible sickness is coming, and many will die!" Bear nodded, tumbling after the apprentice who was barrelling into the forest.

Three days later, Riverpaw and Bear burst into the clearing. Several mews of joy erupted as her fellow clanmates welcomed her back, but a wild fire spead in Riverpaws eyes. "I need to speak with the leader!" she screamed, streaking over to the den with Bear close on her heals. She ran over to him and meowed "I've returned! But Starclan has revealed a sign to me. A terrible plauge shall come to our clan! We must get ready!" *Leader*'s eyes grew wide as she/he streaked off to find the medicen cat.

Moonlight smelled Riverpaw. She jumped up and ran from the nursery. "Riverpaw!" She stopped, almost hitting Thunderstar who was running towards Swiftsoul's den. He didn't pause. Moonlight shrugged and ran over to Riverpaw. "Riverpaw!" She purred and licked her friends head. "I've missed you so much." Suddenly she smelled another cat, but wasn't alarmed. "Who is this?"

Bear looked at the she-cat, she wasn't looking at him. "Um...I'm Bear. I helped Riverpaw escape, again, her old home." He purred. The she-cat glanced at him and he was taken back. She was blind. Her eyes lifeless and grey. She laughed, "Nice to meet you, Bear. I'm Moonlight, Riverpaw's best friend."

"N-nice to meet you." Bear couldn't take his eyes off of her dead eyes. She looked away. "How long have you been..." He didn't want to say the word.

"Blind?" Moonlight said. "I was born blind, but I'm one of the best warrior's here."

"Yes she is! No one can out race her." Riverpaw purred, happily rubbing against her friend. "It's so good to come back! But I bring aweful news." Moonlight's mood instantly changed to serious. "What do you mean, Riverpaw?" she asked. Riverpaw's mew came out brittle and sad "A plauge is coming. I found crowfood in a live peice of prey. Starclan sent me to find it." she shuddered.

Then the attacker paused to sniff Moonsong. "Oh", she said "I guess you aren't snowclan. Sorry. do you want to join the clan? i'll take you to the leader!"

Thunderstar quickly told Swiftsoul about what Riverpaw had told him. "I'll go to the MoonTree tonight." She walked into the back of her den.

Thunderstar walked out and bumped into Sunshadow, who was followed by a she-cat. "Sunshadow, who is this?"

Moonlight shook her head, "This is not good. We've had such a great green-leaf, but now the prey is turning bad?" She sighed and remembered something. (I can't remember if this is true...) "I heard the Elders talking about a clan that had the same problem, I think it was ShadowClan. One of the clans from Firestar's territory." She thought for a second. "Yes, they ate rats, but two-legs poisioned them and so the cats got poisioned." She shook her head.

"Maybe two-legs are doing this?" Bear suggested. He'd never heard of ShadowClan or this Firestar, but he felt like he should help.

Swiftsoul slipped back outside the den and smiles, watching the cats around the camp from the medicine cat entrance.

"Maybe. I did find the shrew on my twolegs territory." Riverpaw gasped in shock and anger. (im making this up now) "That bottle! Bear, remember the bottle near the stairs at the twolegs place? Rat poison!" Riverpaw's eyes grew wide.

Whisperkit stood up and padded over to Ashkit. "Hi." she mewed.

Bear's eyes grew wide, "But how can the prey live from eating that stuff? Maybe they found a way to put it in the animals and not kill them." He thought. He had seen a rat eat that stuff and a few days later was dead. "Maybe they're trying to kill of all of the prey..."

Moonlight nodded, "We'll figure this out later, but for now we need to get as much prey as possible before the poision reaches our area." She walked over to Thunderstar, not noticing the new cat. "I'm taking Riverpaw, Bear and a few others on a hunting patrol." She walked away and gathered the cats.

Bear grew excited, he got to see real wild cats hunt, besides Riverpaw, and see Moonlight hunt. He'd never met a blind cat, he wondered how she hunted.
