Thanks guys! It's been a battle, and yet now that I'm finished I kind of miss it. I can't wait to get editing because then I can fix it up all nice. But I know I have too much university work to be thinking about it now, and the chances are it'll end up being the end of February before I have time to do any editing at all (or even really think about editing...). I have some very nasty deadlines coming up, plus an excessive amount of reading to do, which is really quite scary. XP

Oh you have no idea. xd It's insane how much I have to do. I'm reading 500+ pages of tiny print per week, and having to make notes, plus attend hours of lectures, seminars, and write assignments. Ohdear. This is only my first year, as well. x____x Haha.

It's not that bad. I only have 9 hours a week in lectures/seminars, so I suppose I do get plenty of time to read. It just doesn't leave much time for anything else - and since I need a decent average to get into my chosen American university for my third year, I need to actually work this year, not just 'pass'. rolleyes

Haha wow. So what are the marking systems? What are averages and passes?

Well, it goes, highest to lowest, 1st, 2:1, 2:2, 3rd, and everything below that is a fail, I think.

70+ = 1st
60 - 69 =2:1
50 - 59 = 2:2 (I think, it's either that or 55 - 59)

All I really know is that a first is amazing if you can get one, and a 2nd is what most people come out with. Of course the 2:1 is more desirable. <3

So far my average is like 67 or something like that. I've had marks ranging from 60 to 70 over the last semester, though some had a higher weighting than others.

However, some universities use a normal alphabetical grading system. Derby university does, anyway. But mostly it's the numbers one. XD

Hopefully! It's just like at A level where you (usually) need 70% to get an A, right? So, the 1st is kind of the equivalent, because 70/100 is what you need to get. And, then you have your 2:1 (which can be seen as a B), 2:2 (C grade), 3rd (D grade). :]

Yeah, it is pretty easy to understand. : D

I need to work harder - and yet I'm already working really hard. Oh, woe. XD I've not done enough editing yet. My mum says that if I get my copy of the novel before she goes on holiday in May, she'll read it while she's gone. This will mean my deadline for finishing the editing shall have to be moved from July to April. @_@ It also means that my editing might not be entirely up to scratch, but I really do want Mum to read it (if only because she's probably only read four books in her life and it'll be an awesome achievement if she can make it through my novel....) Looks like I'd better get cracking, eh?

My main characters weren't going to get together in my mind but on paper...they went too perfectly. So more sexy scenes for me haha.
