((Hey Thornkit. I was thinking, maybe we could make them have a really hard time after a couple of days of the same routine and something happen to Dawnkit so that Thornkit can realize that his heart really does belong as a medicine cat. blaugh Of course, this is only if you want. 3nodding ))

Dawnkit followed his brother, his nose peeled for any scents. He walked around for quite a while before he could smell a mouse. His tail flicked in anticipation as he prepared to pounce it.

Thornkit was quietly stalking a mouse and pounced on it. The mouse got away when Thornkit lifted his paws. "The mouse got away.."

((Lol Okay. Let's make them do a huge fetch of food, like a rabbit or something the first day, then have them suffer cause it was a fluke or something... like the rabbit was injured. After that... I dunno, we'll think what will befall poor Dawnkit. twisted ))

Dawnkit spat. "Dumb old mouse got away, but I can assure you the next one won't," he growled, padding over to his brother. He had just had the same kind of luck as a mouse had slipped from him as well. "Oh well... nothing to it but to keep hunting. If we don't, do you really think Kindlestar will leave us without food tonight?" he gulped, thinking of how horrible it would be to go without freshkill for a night.

Firesong was looking for some burdock root and some ivy, to help keep Lovekit from stiffening up after the water experience, when she heard Kindlestar call her name. "In here." She didn't look up from her herbs, and seemed annoyed.

Kindlestar padded into Firesong's den and flicked her ear as she sat down next to the medicine cat. "Firesong, I need to ask you a question. It's about what I heard from Cinderstar in the last Gathering... What is the rivalry between SnowClan and FireClan?" she asked, completely oblivious to Firesong's irritation. She noticed the medicine cat's muscles were tense, but she just figured it was shock from the recent twoleg attack. "Cinderstar said that FireClan would be happy to hear from SnowClan's troubles, for we had been enemies for a long time. I know about PebbleClan's rivalry with us... but how can two Clans that live so far away from each other hate each other?" she continued, her tail flicking in confusion.

((No problem. xd We can just claim if it causes any weirdness in future that it was FireClan's take on it. ninja ))

Firesong stopped her search, looking thoughtfully at the young leader. "Well, you know of the origins of our clans?" ((i'll just pretend you didn't)) Seeing Kindlestar's blank look, she padded over to her bed and curled up, settling in to tell a story.

"In a forest many moons travel from here lived four clans. But there were once five; the fifth clan was called Skyclan, driven cruelly from their home when Twolegs took over. The remains of this poor, ravaged clan ended up here. After several generations, Firestar, the leader of the Thunderclan, came to this area guided by Starclan, to rebuild Skyclan. He succeeded, and Leafstar became the leader. Several generations later, a cruel twist of fate befell the poor clan." Here she stopped, remembering her previous mission.

She dug through her herbs, and placed a few near Lovekit, then turned her attention back to Kindlestar.

"the tragedy was not caused by twolegs; but by arrogance. Once Leafstar died, her deputy, Sunflight, became leader. but he couldn't choose a deputy. Four powerful and loyal cats wanted to take the position, and none of them would back down. In disgust, Sunstar chose a cat named Brakenclaw to be his Deputy, and forbade the four feuding warriors from having apprentices.

It was newleaf when the badgers attacked. Charging out to defend his clan, Sunstar was stuck by lightning. It ripped through all of his nine lives, while his clan fought and died around him."

Firesong looked at the leader sadly. "there were survivors, of course. All four of the warriors who fought over the deputy position survived. but with no leader and no deputy, they were in shambles. They sought the help of the medicine cat, of course."

"She went to the moonpool, to seek guidance, but starclan was silent. It was during this time that the animosity between Snowclan and Fireclan was born. The four cats each tried to keep order in the group, and sections began to form. One tom sided with Snowcloud, while his mate sided with Firestrike. the two had a kit, and it was over this kit that the quarrel between the two clans began."

Flakekit was sitting alone outside of the nursery watching the other cats talk.

Blaze whisper followed after the kits and purred. dumb kits....they let a mouse get away? i remember when i was like that

Jayflight padded Into the nursery and settled down, she sighed and relaxed, at least kindlestar had a warrior watching dawnkt and thornkit.
Solarkit Walked into the nursery, sad her brothers got to hunt while she had to sit in the nursery.
opalheart walked out of the warriors den and stretched, he was recently appointed a warrior so he had sat vigil last night and was just waking up even though it was sun high. he padded out of camp and sniffed the air. Mouse. He instinctively went into the hunters crouch and began stalking it. unlike in the forest there was no cover for him.

Thornkit nodded slowly. "Yeah, You heard what Kindlestar said." mewed Thornkit. His ear twitched. "I think someone is following us."

Cloudyheart padded around camp, Bored.
