Firesong followed Kindlestar. She looked at the kits, seeing the fear in their eyes. She brushed her tail lightly against Dawnkit reassuringly. The look in her eyes said that it wouldn't be that bad. She hoped it was true. As mad as Kindlestar would be, she behaved very similarly in her kit days.

Thornkit followed Dawnkit inside. "Don't worry, Dawnkit." whispered Thornkit.

Dawnkit purred in thanks as he sat in front of Kindlestar. He looked up at her eyes and noticed a strange glow in them. She still looked angry, but not like she would claw their eyes out any time soon.

Kindlestar glanced down at the two kits. "What were you thinking?" she mewed coolly, her eyes starting to look much calmer.

Thornkit sat beside Dawnkit. "We wanted to save Lovekit." answered Thornkit.

Kindlestar had to stop her whiskers from twitching in amusement. She closed her eyes as a memory took over her.

"What were you thinking? Going off like that?" Blazepaw's voice sounded in her mind.

"Sharppaw was in trouble, I wanted to help her!"

Kindlestar opened her eyes again and looked at both kits. "You are well aware that you placed not only yourselves in danger, but Lovekit and Waterkit as well?"

Dawnkit muttered something and looked at his paws, shame burning in his ears.

"Waterkit wanted to come with us." meowed Thornkit. A Glint of fury appeared in his eyes.  

[Kitsune Thistletree]

"And this makes your direct dissobeying of orders any better?" she asked Thornkit, her eyes reprimanding. "You two seem to enjoy getting into trouble a lot more than any other kit... you seem to think of yourselves higher than the others," Kindlestar mewed calmly. "You need to learn that there are times that the needs of the Clan aren't your going to the rescue, but your staying here. If I am not mistaken... I saw you enter with Firesong into the camp after the attack. Mind sharing what you were doing with her?"

"That's none of your business," Dawnkit spat, his brother's anger giving him courage at last. However, this may have not been the wisest thing.

"We were out hunting." growled Thornkit. "We were helping the Clan! Why did we get into Trouble?!" More anger appeared in his eyes.  

[Kitsune Thistletree]

"Are we going to be punished for just doing what we can?" Dawnkit spat, his hackles raised.

Kindlestar's ears flattened in anger and her eyes flashed dangerously. "You are right, you were just doing it for the Clan. You two seem to be old enough to take care of yourselves, aren't you? So, I have the perfect job for you. You will have to hunt your own food for one moon. You are to ask for no help of any of the other cats, and you are to not eat until every single other cat in the Clan has been fed. Let's see you put the Clan first. Let's see you face the lives of warriors as you so much desire, and let's see you challenging those in higher command than you. If you ever truly wish to be warriors, then there is one trait that you must both learn... one trait that is not loyalty nor power, but humility," she replied coolly, her wounds stinging as her muscles tensed again. It wasn't like a leader to loose patience in front of kits, but Kindlestar was a mere nine moons old, making her one of the youngest warriors in the Clan. Her patience was still not something that had grown with age.

Dawnkit opened his jaws in surprise. This wasn't what he had expected. He had expected cleaning elder bedding for a moon, not starving. "Fine, we'll show you just how good we are, won't we, Thornkit?" he sneered, his tail held high.

Lovekit got up and walked around, she Padded over by Thornkit, Kindlestar and Dawnkit.

(( Dewpool you are outside with Rabbitpaw and Cloudyheart. Firesong gave Lovekit some herbs for her wounds.... You are not with Kindlestar, Dawnkit and Thornkit seeing as how it is a private meeting and you were unconcious.... Please edit your post. -__-))

Lovekit woke up.

Firesong's ears burned with shame. So Kindlestar had seen her try to get the kits back to camp? and here she'd thought she'd been subtle.

Suddenly, Kindlestar's punishment of the kits hit her. They would have to feed everyone in the clan? Was she going to make them the only one's hunting? Would she really let them leave the camp by themselves? And how long would she actually keep the punishment up? She had said a whole moon, but Firesong hoped she would let up before then.
