As a note to all Asatru people in general:

Wagner is FANTASTIC! Ok he changes the myths (slightly) and the gods' names but wow is that stuff so much fun to watch. The Nibelungenlied is just pure genius and in the version of Das Rheingold that I was just watching Loki (Loge) is done exceptionally well. Not to mention that Wagner makes the music and themes fit the gods exactly. Plus it's better than watching any modern thriller. Screw special effects. Music and Opera wins! blaugh

Also way better than Tolkein any day. Tolkein can't make pages sing.

It's a tad obnoxious. And way overplayed. And the recorders at the beginning only make it sound hokey. I think most people are sick of it at this stage. Cheeese...
