Kitsune Thistletree ((Kay kay)) Kindlestar looked up at the sky, wondering how to begin answering Rabbitpaw's questions. "Well, let's see... the duty of a warrior is to be there for your Clan. Loyalty is a very important factor in this," she said, as she gulped down a bite. "However, loyalty of a Clan is imbedded to you as you go along, training, noticing how the elders and the kits need to be taken care of, how other apprentices and warriors are there to protect you. It is also a warrior's duty to fulfill a leader's orders. This is part of the warrior code. Part of the warrior code also states that an apprentice should never eat before the elders have been fed, unless asked to be joined by a warrior or elder. Remember, the needs of the Clan always come first," she added, licking her her lips.
"There is more to a warrior than just fighting however. You must set a good example for others that are younger or lower ranking than you can follow. Creamtail is a good example of this. She has never been fond of fighting... at least, not as long as I can remember. However, this makes her no less of a warrior. As a matter of fact, your denmate, Opalpaw, is her apprentice," Kindlestar went on, trying to incorporate some of the things that were happening around the Clan. "The reason you don't know this is because you were never outside, joining the Clanlife. However, this will be fixed with your training, as you grow stronger, wiser and hopefully a bit more sociable," she purred in amusement, taking one last bite of her magpie. Dawnkit woke up and gave a huge yawn. His brother was still sleeping besides him, and he stretched and got up, getting ready to leave the nursery and go outside and play.
"Oh...!" Rabbitkit responded with embarrassment after a short silence that followed Kindlestar's speech. She immediately stopped what she was doing before, now understanding that she almost disrespected the Warrior Code and her mentor's authority. She slowly lowered her head, and both ears slightly, and then muttered, "I see..."
Now the apprentice had a clearer understanding of the duties she would have to undertake from then on. If she was to be a good Warrior, she had to start parting from that moment, and not later. I'll make sure to be a good Warrior and an example to the younger clan members.
Then, all of a sudden, her stomach growled, and Rabbitkit was once again reminded of how eager she was to have some real good breakfast.
