Poor Headhunter.

Don't worry too much. You're not the only one here who will never have kids. Mine reason's partially medical but...

YAY I get to avoid all the horror of pregnancy!

And child birth!

And if I want to, skip right to the terror of raising them 'cause I'll adopt.

I have these same kind of issues too. They haven't completely given up hope on me having babies yet though. It's gonna take an awful lot of medical intervention to make it happen though...

I'm on board with never having children. Several reasons for that:

-Why add more human life to an already overpopulated and overtaxed ecosystem?

-I taught Korean children for a year.

-The thought of me being pregnant freaks me out.

-It is unlikely I will ever be financially secure enough to properly support another life

-I know my limits, and I don't think that motherhood is for me.

I don't think much of ANYONE having kids is financially secure enough to properly support another life.

All the people secure enough don't want to deal with it. . . and those who aren't. . . well, no need to be crass.

My point being that I, personally, do not want to bring another life into the world if I cannot give said life the care, supplies and resources it needs to have a decent life. This is not to say "if I cannot spoil a kid rotten I won't have one," on the contrary I am also on board with the Western world living more simply. However, I am saying that if I could not afford to feed the kid properly, give it a good education, buy school supplies, and send it to the occasional thing that it really wanted to do, I am not responsible enough to reproduce.

Living where I do, I don't need multiple children to help supplement the family income. I have ready access to methods of birth control that have very few taboos attached to them. Women have the right to decide things like this. I can be responsible enough to not reproduce.

It is unfortunate that not everyone shares this view. If they did, we would not have one out of six children in Canada living under the poverty line. I cannot control everyone's actions on this issue. However, I can control my own actions, and I choose not to contribute to the problem.

I honestly wasn't disagreeing with you, just pointing out one of those sad facts.

I wouldn't trade my kidlets for the world, but understand your stance completely.

So, I have a goal. I'm going to set aside extra funds between now and the end of the year to buy myself this awesome statue.

Also, Team Fortress 2 is a freaking black hole of time. I just played for the last 2 hours and didn't realize that much time had passed, but I did earn a couple of new milestones (bonus items for meeting a certain number of in-game achievements), so it can't be said that I was unproductive today.

Games are never a waste of time for us Geeks! Always a productive way to pass the time. It doesn't matter what everyone else says, they are just trying to brainwash us!

On a side note, I think I'm just gonna start hanging here in the guild. O.o Everyone else on gaia seems to have become mutes, or are grouchy. I thought I was anti-social.

Well, everyone send me happy vibes tomorrow around 8:00 a.m. central time as I have to go see my diabetes physician's assistant. xd Not looking forward to this appointment because things have been changing so much lately and I don't know if it's the medication or what. My blood sugar's about average/normal right now, but I'm still no where near my ideal weight or anything ele for that matter. sweatdrop

Best thoughts to everyone who is searching for love, family, or meaning. I am a firm believer in the cosmic pairing if you will. At the moment I feel very blessed that at least my love life is doing well.

As for kids, should we really trust yours truly with an innocent child? neutral

I've got quite the two months ahead of me- wish me luck.

Oy, wish I could be a firm believer in love right now. The trashed marriage makes that hard.

*HUGS!*

May seem impossible right now, but you will heal someday and find the right match for you. She wasn't it. She's not a BAD person, but it was just a bad match. At the very least, you got two lovely children out of it, and a whole crapload more experience than a lot of us. Life experience is never a waste.

I know I sound really overly optimistic... but I'm sure... positive... of what I say. Your faith in love and its power will restore so long as you heal first. You're hurting still and that's understandable.

Lots of positive energy being sent your way!
