Role Playing the Past

Hien looked out the window as it started raining. 'Weird...' He thought. 'It was perfectly nice earlier...' He shook his head and turned to Zero, Ethiriel, and Feredir. "So... now what?" He asked quietly, drawing everyone's attention.

Shadow watched as the sky twisted a bit, "Come council go ahead and take me up for my punishment... I'll take whatever you want." he said, his voice deep and his eyes intense and cold. He waited, his breathing slowing down and looked back one last time ~ Watrch over them Hien...~ he said and then suddenly began to disappear. The council summoned him upwards as a tornado of sorts began to furm and head towards the place where everyone was at.

*Zero looked over at Hien, and again felt that pull at his heart.* Well, I'm not sure. Shadow's dissapeared and we're no longer looking for a way to get rid of my demon blood. *He smiled disarmingly at Hien.*

I dunno either. *Ethiriel said.* But I have a bad feeling Shadow's in trouble with this council of his.

*Feredir nodded.* >Unfortunately, they won't take kindly to what Shadow has to tell them.<

But didn't he tell us to stay here? *Ethiriel asked, cocking her head to one side.*

*this time, Zero smirked.* I think that was more of a... friendly suggestion.

Hien almost swooned when Zero smiled at him, but as the others continued talking, Hien realized what they were insinuating. "Ah. So we're going to go save Shadow? Even though we didn't really get off on the right foot... I'll go." He put his hand out, and a book appeared in his open palm. It was about a foot high, 8 inches long, and 4 inches thick. The cover was white with Latin written on it, and a gold ribbon poked out of the bottom, signaling his place. "Provectus Veneficus of Lux Lucis." He explained, then translated. "Advanced magic of light."

Shadow looked around for the source of power that drew him now to the Council heights area. He frowned and shifted to his human form, "Which would you perfer Maxius...? Me in my human form or me in my second form?" he called out, speaking of his two forms. He knew the council always perfered one form to the other, it was just as simple as that.  

[Storm_Fighter_Alchemist]

*A dark, evil laugh echoed through the room as Maxius appeared from the shadows, standing high above where Shadow was standing. She looked down at Shadow, a cruel, almost mad glint in her eyes.* Hm, I would have to say your human form. *She raised her hand and flicked her wrist, sending Shadow flying against the wall, slamming into it with a loud crash. She giggled maniacally, showing off long, pearly fangs.* You feel more pain in that form. And more pain is good for me. I like to see you in pain. It gives me something to do besides torture the other pathetic mortals. *she put a finger to her chin, looking up as if thinking. She used the other hand to continue slamming Shadow against the walls.* Now... I could sit here and torture you all day... or... I could tell you what the council has decided to do with you. Which do you want? *she suddenly snapped her fingers as if having a revelation.* Oh! Right! Nobody cares about your opinions. Not even your little group... They never cared. Especially not your little lover, Ethiriel. She hates you, you know. She wishes you would die. *Maxius laughed cruelly at Shadow's infuriated face.* So, I guess it's a good thing no one will ever have to deal with you again. Shadow, the council has decided you will die. By means of crusifiction. *She raised both her hands, palms up, and a metal cross embedded with spikes erupted from the floor. She pointed a finger at Shadow, and he was raised into the air and thrust upon the cross, the spikes digging and biting into his skin. Metal spikes appeared before his hands and feet, then were thrust through his hands and feet. The blood flowed freely from the wounds, and Maxius laughed insanely as she heard the pop of Shadow's arms dislocating.* Yes, suffer, suffer more! Your pain is food for my wretched soul!

*Ethiriel gasped suddenly, and everyone turned to look at her.* Shadow... We need to go. Now.

*Zero didn't understand completely what was going on, but he nodded.* Hien, are there any portal spells in that book of yours?

Shadow winced and let out a bit of a scream as he felt his body thrusted against the spikes. His head leaned down and his hair covered his face, he let out a small laugh, "If no one... loves me then there's no suffering for them.... I've already love before... Maxius..." he breathed, he sounded a bit twisted. "The council usually wants to hear my side.... you're just playing... something you'll do well." he said and looked up at her with a weakened smirk. (( Eh... I've had over half a page in a Word Document or more sweatdrop ))

Hien nodded and opened the book, the pages flipping by themselves to the page he wanted as if they knew what he wanted. When they stopped flipping, Hien read a little down the page. "Ah, here we go. Everyone needs to stand in a circle and close their eyes." When they had done so, Hien began to speak again. "Vox of lux lucis take nos ut Shadow." With this said, the group began to glow white, then disappeared in a flash of light and a ripple of energy. Hien didn't open his eyes until he was sure they were in the right place. When he did open his eyes, they locked first on Shadow, bleeding and hanging somewhat limp from the cross. "Shadow-sama!" He turned his attention to Maxius, eyes narrowing. "What has Shadow-sama done to deserve this?! Release him at once!"

Another one of the council members appeared in front of Hien and slashed at him with a scythe, his face masked by the darkness of a hood and an actual mask. He slashed at Hiens throat, "Boy you've chosen the worse time to come here..." a voice came from the hidden face. It was a deep mans voice, that almost sounded similar to Shadows.

Shadow looked down at Hien and his eyes widen, he struggled against the pain and the metal spikes in his skin. "Get out of here you dumbasses... go now!!!!..." he screamed loudly. He looked over at Maxius, as another one of the council members attacked Zero and Ethiriel. "Leave them be... your quarell is with me..." he yelled leaning forward, even though the spikes from doing much of that.

*Zero looked over at Hien just as the other council member slashed at his throat. His eyes widened and he felt his heart shatter at the sight of Hien falling over.* HIEN!!! *He turned to the council member, eyes blazing. Pure white flames began to leap from the floor, curling around his ankles, wrists, neck, and encasing his wings. His eyes began to glow white as well, and he put his palms together.* Lux lucis orbis defaeco!! *he threw his hands out, and a ring of white fire emanated away from his body, moving away from him at supersonic speeds. The ring slammed into the council member, causing his body to disintegrate, then sliced the cross at the bottom, causing it to fall backwards with Shadow on top. His hands dropped, but the flames didn't fade. Instead, they began to glow brighter. He turned his attention to Maxius, eyes full of righteous fury.* You... you did this... *He clenched his fists, the fire beginning to center in his hands. With a cry, he thrust his fists upward, causing beams of fire to erupt from from them, engulfing Maxius in fire.*

*Maxius shrieked as the fire enveloped her.* 'Holy Fire?! How... It's not possible! I... I...!! *She let out a final scream as he body disintegrated into nothingness.*

*Ethiriel rushed over to Hien where he lay bleeding.* Hien, hang on! *She placed her hands over his body and began chanting in a strange language. Hien's body began to glow blue and the wound to his neck healed over. She pulled her hands away and sighed.* He'll be okay... he just needs rest...

*Feredir raced over to where Shadow had fallen and began wrestling with the spikes that held his hand to the spike-embedded beam.* >Stupid, stupid... the hell... thinking... damn-spikes...<

Shadow looked over at Feredir, "The question is my friend what the hell are you guys thinking... they don't just die that easily." he said and right at the moment another one of the council members appeared over Shadow and kicked Feredir away.

"Now now boy you don't think we'll let your friend go that easily now do you?" a new females voice came through a new darkness. (( Oh come now Storm... you can't get rid of Maxius that easier... she's the fun main player)

Hien's body began to glow a blinding white color. It flashed once, blinding everyone in the area. When the glow died down, Hien was back on his feet, book in hand. His eyes were closed, his face a mask of peaceful concentration. He passed his hand over the open book, and it began to glow. "Nostrum pectus pectoris pello pepulli pulsum validus ut unus. diligo ego sentio dico mihi pugno in." He chanted in a strong, echoing voice. "Pugna, ego vadum. Refero of pectus pectoris!" With this said, Hien snapped the book shut, and his body began to glow again. The light pulsed outward, pushing the council member back away from Feredir. He then turned to Zero, who was staring at him in awe. He held out his hand, a small, happy smile crossing his lips. "C'mon, Zero. Let's defeat this enemy... together."

*Zero didn't say anything. Instead, he smiled and took Hien's hand. He gave it a squeeze and finally spoke.* Yeah... let's do this. Together. *He turned to the council members who had been pushed back and raised their clasped hands.* Permissum is vinculum ego vultus iam plumbum nos ut victoria. *Their raised hands began to glow with a blinding light.* Fatum vinculum! *The glow around their hands exploded outward in several beams, striking each of the council members and causing them to disintegrate.*

*Ethiriel rushed over to where Shadow was laying on his cross.* Effrego! *she gasped, throwing her hands out. the spikes holding shadow on the cross shattered. She helped Shadow up, looping Shadow's arm around her shoulders.* Zero, Hien, I'm taking Shadow back! i'll be back in a second! *with this said, she apparated out of the room.*

Shadow was kind of dazed by the light, but knew that this all didn't seem right. He looked at Ehiriel when they had gotten to where they had apparted to and grimaced. "This isn't right.... they're just playing with you guys... and I'm one of them. They won't just let me go Ethiriel... they don't just leave one of their old members alone." he said and moved away from her side. He stood there, there was a bit of blood coming down his hands and back. He looked away from Ethiriel and shook his head. "I'm sorry but I can't let you guys risk this... go and take Zero and everyone else home." he said and moved closer once again. He leaned over and gave her a hug. Holding her tightly in his arms, which seemed quite out of character, he closed his eyes. "Promise me you'll forgive me for what I must do.... And... if I don't come back forget me. Forget my existance, that shouldn't be hard to do." he said and hugged her tighter, but made sure he didnt' suffocate her.

At that moment a large shadowy looking hand reached out of no where and grabbed Shadow, ripping him apart from Ethiriel. The hand pulled him swiftly away from Ethiriel, and all Shadow did was look at her with a serious face, with a bit of apology behind his eyes. The hand took him into a dark obyss, and then back to where Zero and Hein were. It released him then in front of the two. He looked them as everyone paused their fighting. His eyes seemed to be black holes now, as he looked at Hein. He smirked, his k-9 teeth shown and sharpened. The council members looked at Shadow displeasingly, "Well you didn't get far betrayer..."one of them said.

Shadow turned his head and snarled, "Shut up Alexander... I'm here for them. I'll take my punishment once we get rid of them once and for all." he said, and just as quick as he had turned his head away from Hein and Zero it returned. He looked them up and down and scoffed, " You may have the power of the Goddess... and I'm not doubting her. But you should've realized that I'm not an easy one to please... and the fact that you're using someone else's power, or so it seems you are, displeases me." he said, his voice demonic. He raised a hand up, a dark globe of energy appeared in his hand. "See... I don't have to read books to get my power... I was born with it." he said and bounced the ball up and down in his hand. He looked, then, specifically at Zero ~ Tell your sister I'm terribly sorry... all of our friendships were never meant to be. And this isn't as strong as I can make this... so it won't hurt too bad.~ he said mentally to him, under a secure link between them.

One of the Council members rolled his eyes and mumbled something under her breath, "Get it done already... I'm tried of these people..... I mean besides they're the ones that got you into this mess anyways... kind of." she said.

Shadow nodded and threw the ball at Feredir. He then made another one and threw that one at Hein. Those two sent both of them back into the dimension from which they came from, meaning where Ethiriel was. He then looked at Zero, " You did cause this problem... but I guess no one can really know that they're going to cause problems for someone else. Oh well..." he shrugged and threw the ball at Zero. It hit him in the stomach and sent Zero flying back. He watched as Zero disappeared and then turned to look at the Council. "I don't know what you want to do to me but they are taken care of now..." he said and watched as one of the members sealed the portal so the others couldn't get in. (( sorry I haven't been on really at all. Not doing to well in school and other stuff keep coming up.... I don't know when I'll get my comp privelages back... or when I'll get some time. But I gotta love ya'll for your patience. wink Talk to you the next time we're both on. ))

Hien landed squarely on his butt in Ethiriel's room. He took one look around and cried out. "No! This isn't right! How did he do that?! GODDESS DAMN IT!!!" He jumped to his feet, his power beginning to overflow. "By all that is holy, I will NOT let Shadow just die like that!!!"
