I was of the mind that those kind of hats were Chinese. . . though, mind you there is something like that in Japan now that I think about it. I remember seeing people in ricefields wearing them. 3nodding And a monk, though it was a bit more rounded.

I think those hats are worn a lot in asia, like indonesia etc. since there are ricefields there too!
