SimKing pach; it is very simple. When you know the bone structure, you can imagine the bones under the muscles and everything, and it makes it much easier to construct a position. When you draw the muscles, you learn and remember where the major muscles are, and later on you use it as refference too. You learn the muscles and then when you draw a position in some way, you know what goes where. My point exactly; In a figure painting class you should know the skeleton and major muscles in order to have a good anatomical structure. when you know what lies under the skin in the body it greately improves your drawing.
im not saying that its useless to draw the skeleton or muscles , lord knows ive done enough. but its not just drawing them that helps you improve, thats like half of the lesson. ye'know ?
knowing how the muscles pull the bones , what they look like stretched and contracted , how they attach and the fucntions - dont you agree that knowing that and learning about it will help you construct more dynamic positions ? learning how the body can move and contract
theres only so much you can learn from drawing the skeleton and muscles just standing - again , im not saying you wont learn anything - its something that everyone should learn .
you can paint a figure , you can draw a figure when its right infront of you , when you know the pose and you can see the structure , but knowing how the body works and learning about it - THEN you can create your own dynamic poses .

pach_work SimKing well obviosly you are right...but all i asked is to draw it once for those people who have no understanding of it, or never drew it before, it is just the first step of the whole thing. haha yeah , true , its good to know either way. and im not saying you wont find people willing to do the project/assignment/whatnot but its ..gaia lol , it may take a little while to find those people although i hope they step up and prove me wrong.
meh..i have enough to do anyways..lol

pach_work well , lifedrawing , but we study anatomy , first year it was bones , this year its muscles..muscles muscles muscles..lol , we have tests on them and ..junk XD lol i dunno , i dont mind it smile i like learning about the human body , but theres a difference between learning about it and just..saying . ' draw this ' , its not that easy lol edit: although you cant really tell by my pics sometimes XD i should scan some life drawings >_> /... lol
I wish I could take a class like that, I would be there is a second :3
I know, I completely understand. I know how long an arm should be to be proportionate to the body, but I don't understand a lot of things about the human body ^^;;
Not true, I go through your gallery occasionally [becauseimyourstalker] and when you draw the full bodies I can totally tell you know what muscles belong where. Your people are defined :3
