Haha well done! And I'm going to miss my friends too when I leave for Uni but at least I won't have a boyfriend eek!

How is your new novel coming along? And did you have to submit some of your work when you applied for your course?

Yes, the boyfriend thing does pose something of a dilemma.... XP

My novel isn't really coming along at the moment. I've been too busy with... life in general, I guess. X3

And, yeah, I had to submit some work. I wish I could have done that later, because at the time of going through UCAS I didn't really have anything decent. rolleyes That's probably why I didn't get onto the English course. =S

Eeek! How do you submit the work? Does it happen through UCAS? I hope my writing is good enough...

Well, when I applied UEA asked me to email it to them, which is what I did. I think most universities will either ask you to send a portfolio, or have an interview with you. :]

I suppose it is quite scary. But it's a great chance to show universities just how awesome you really are. rofl Or, in my case, how weird I really am and why they should therefore select me to even out their intake. XD

Well, I applied for two of my choices at UEA, a choice at Nottingham, one at Lancaster and one at Nottingham Trent. :3

All of them did, so I had a nice choice. =)

JUST A QUICK UPDATE:
Sorry for my lack of input in the guild recently. I've been really busy. Today I get to start writing again, though. However, I think I'm going to start on a new novel, because I got a full idea, with a fully formed set of characters, which hasn't happened to me in the longest time. I don't want to move away from my trilogy, but it might be refreshing to work on something new, right? :]

A real update should come soon, once I get writing, perhaps.

~Monday 13th July, 2009.

Now playing: Florence and the Machine - Cosmic Love

The stars, the moon, they have all been blown out, you left me in the dark...

Yes. It's most definitely time for a new update. I've been so busy again lately that I've been neglecting everthing, especially my writing. But now I think I've got a little more time again, and so I'll be able to get some writing done.

I started a new novel a little while ago, the third in my trilogy, and the other day decided that I was going to actually leave that one alone for a bit so I could do something a little more fun. My latest novel is written in the first person, present tense, and is a lot more teenage-orientated than my other novels. Yes, that means no sex. XD It could be a challenge, but it could also be a good way to try something new. I like the idea.

The new novel is called Gunmetal and Lace, and is set during the war (which war is unspecified, but it is in the kind of world war two era). One of the English stately homes (again, the location of England is unspecified for dramatic tension, or perhaps I just don't feel like mentioning it because it's not relevant XD) has been converted into a school for the purpose of war-time safety. A girl is found down in one of the cellars of the great house, naked, confused and starving. Nobody knows where she came from, or who she is, and neither does she. She has no memory of her past, knows nothing except that where she is at present is both familiar and very, very odd.

That's all I really want to share for now, because I don't quite know which way the plot is going to unfold. It's fun so far, though, if a little difficult because it's in the present tense and in the first person POV of somebody who doesn't have any memories. xd

Words written today: none so far, but it's still early. (I may update this later)

Word count: 6,577 / ???

Lines for recently:

The strange thing, though, is not the smell of antiquity, nor is it the fact that I am in a room I am not acquainted with: it is the queer idea that I should be lying on the floor, the stone cold and wet against my skin, with nothing but a piece of material draped across my torso. Underneath this, I am indeed quite naked.

No dawn, no day, I'm always in this twilight in the shadow of your heart

-clapclap-
Yay for new work!
Heh .. with me I've fallen down into writing just one, since I haven't had a pause in inspiration there .. but since I only have enough time on average two write two or so pages that might be why -cough-

Anyway .. -waves- I always love the sig pictures you make for your books
And, this new one is incredibly interesting sounding ... =o

Thank you. I enjoy making my sig pictures. It's something to do when I'm not writing, but is still focused on the novel. XP

I'm tempted to post the new novel in the Writer's Forum, but I don't know if it's worth it because I never get any useful feedback from there. >_o
