omg that was exactly what I thought when I saw it. I should spend less time on Cake Wrecks, heh.
AND YES THEY TOTALLY ARE
Like, I don't know if they even realize they're doing it, but it really comes across as them throwing shade at the smaller countries. Also, it kind of seems like they're focusing more heavy on the conflicts/wars some countries are having than other Olympics, so not sure what to think about that.
I think this is like the third time they've had independent athletes. The ones at these games are from the Netherlands Antilles, which was dissolved but the athletes are still allowed to play, and South Sudan, which gained independence not too long ago but they haven't formed an official Olympic committee yet.
Also, omg, Caster Semenya was the South African flagbearer.

Uncle Haijin Omg, NBC's Olympic coverage is embarrassingly bad. So, the Rejected Olympic announcers are less parody and more reality

Conflicted...I saw when searching through tektek that Dice Bunny seems to work well with this default avi, but I wanted to wait until PRlSM decides to make a white recolor of Rosamund's Revenge...;o; so conflicted...I'm not sure if I should quest a Dice Bunny after my quest of the Rapid EI bundle 5 or not.

I kinda remember them focusing on conflicts at the last olympic games. gonk Maybe it's their way of trying to prove that they know something about these countries? That's literally the only reason I can think of. xd "WE AREN'T STUPID AMERICANS! WE KNOW WHAT X COUNTRY DID TO Y COUNTRY!! ALSO YOU GUYS DON'T HAVE ANY GOLD MEDALS." That is my theory and I'm sticking to it. xd Ohh ok the independent thing makes sense now!

MY mom basically cried when Sir Paul sang Hey Jude. It was annoying me how none of the athletes (even the american's) sang along with it.
Its like, really?

The NBC announcers. Holy crap. Annoying during the opening ceremonies.
"And here's some British stuff Americans don't know about so we must explain it in detail, interrupting everything."
Okay, maybe the average American would have been clueless, but it seemed like there was less explanations for cultural elements for the Beijing opening.
Only thing I hated in the opening was that rapper dude. I would've liked a live performance from someone well-known across the world (I guess Adele is the current popular British singer.) Mr. Bean was my favorite part. biggrin Although I was expecting a larger tribute to the British film industry, but his part was great.
