If only I could be as pretty,
As you said.
Sometimes I catch that air,
But with second glances,
It all shatters apart.
You used to say that there was a way about me,
It drew you in.
Warmth;
Clarity.
Security;
Light.
Then on that road,
You let go of my hand,
Slowly turned around and left.
Frostiness;
Ambiguity.
Isolated;
obscurity.
Holding out on long looks back,
The shadow of your back alight by the setting sun.
Cries of plead.
If only I was as pretty as you said.

Description:
Personally, I have had that feeling where you look in the mirror and say, well just maybe.
Then you look again and you see all yoru flaws and no longer think you are pretty.
And I took that and turned it into a poem about breaking up. - Date: 08/06/2009
