I lay me down to sleep,
My breaking bones the earth to keep,
This life no more forever lost,
To the keeper of the cross,
This earthly pain,
To death’s waiting game,
My life to thee I gave,
Or to the poor man’s lave,
I know not why,
The children cry,
This earthly pain,
Killing’s first Cain,
I live my life’s lies,
This truth to die,
A man in a mask,
Killing masques,
On earth to roam,
Wandering home,
I knew all along,
That is was your song,
I heard that night.

- Description: This was fun yet frustrating to write because I hate rhyming, yet I must say this is one of my favorite rhyming poetry that I have written to date.

- Great job with the rhyming, and I do agree that it sounds very Gothic indeed. ^^haha
