• Chapter 2 Friday

Iris was so excited about going on that date with William even though she just met him. Though Iris was excited she was also nervous. She had never been on a date before. She didn't even know what to wear.
Somehow Iris's adoptive mother Rachelle found out about her first date. Of course she was going all out on everthing. She was even planning a celebratory party for her. It was only seven in the morning and the whole town probably already knew about it. So much for privacy.
Iris ran out the door heading for school. She lived only a couple blocks away so it didn't take long to arrive there. It was fall, but still quite warm outside. She immediatlly went to her locker even though she didn't need to. She wanted to make sure that she looked alright so that if she were to see William she wouldn't look like a caveman. She even spritzed on some purfume.
When she walked into class all eyes turned to her. It was so embarrassing. All the students must have found out too. Through their parents probably. Iris slowly made her way to an open seat.
The boy sitting next to her was Calvin Merchaze. He had a crush on her since the first grade, but was too popular to admit it.
"Hey, goth wad, i hear that you're having a party for your first date. Who's the unfortunate victim?" Calvin insulted Iris. He actually sounded a little jealous.
"For your information I didn't plan the party. And its none of your buisness who i am going on a date with."
"Well, Why don't..." Calvin suddenly looked up at a throat clearing.
A low voice said. "You don't kind if i sit here." The voice said it like an order not a question.
    "Well,..."
The voice just repeated itself. Then, almost hypnotized like Calvin just stood up and moved to another seat.
Iris looked over to see who took the seat. She started at the foot and worked her way up. He was wearing heavy looking boots, black leather, and... It was William!
"William, what...why did you do that?" I asked him in complete awe.
"Well, he was messing with my date." He smiled that perfect smile. the one that renders all sanity helpless.

    **********************************************

It was five o clock and Iris was trying to get ready for her date. She didn't even know what they were doing so she dressed in dark washed jeans and a nice tight fitting t-shirt with a zippered hoodie. She put on some eye liner to go with her gray eye shadow and black masscara.
Iris walked down stairs to wait by the door so that her parents wouldn't answer the door and talk with William. What they would say! God so embarrasssing.
"Honey, could you go to the basement and get some tomato soup for your mother and I." Said Richard my adoptive father.
    "Okay, Richard."
"Honey bun plese call me dad."
"Richard please call me Iris." Iris said as she walked to the basement door. Iris grabbed a can of tomato soup. When she got back upstairs her parents were already interrogating William.
"So are you in a band?" Rachelle asked William
"Rachelle! What are you doing!" I yelled really embarrassed. William stood like a gentleman at my presense.
"William could we go now." Iris asked
"Of course we can." Wiliam said to Iris.
They made their way outside without Rachelle following. They began to walk. It was nice walking in the cool night air. To Iris's surprise they ended up in the meadow. Which was beyond romantic. William had set up a picnic blanket and some food. There also was a CD player. That made Iris wonder.
"Wow, William... This is great!" Iris said as they both sat down.
"Oh it was really nothing, but i guess for a first date it is suitable." Wiliam said taking out the food.
"Here is the 'wine'." William said sarcastically as he pulled out a sparkling grape juice bottle. He poured it carefully.
They ate and talked under the moonlight. It was so romantic. Iris wished that all guys could be like William Conners. They finished off all the food.
"Iris may i have this dance." William said as he turned on some ball room music.
"Why certainly William." Iris said matching Williams faked out accent.
They danced together under the moonlight the rest of the night.
Then, sadly it had to end. So hand in hand they walked back to Iris's house. Once they were at her door step they said thir goodbyes.
"Well, I guess I will see you at school." Iris said
"Yeah I guess so." Willliam said looking down. "Iris." William said just as Iris was reaching for the door. She turned to him.
    "Yes."
William seemed as though he was going to kiss her, but decided not to. "Ummm... Bye."
    He said simply.
"Bye." Iris said smiling slightly. Then, she opened the door and went inside. She heard a strange noise coming from upstairs in her bedroom. She knew it was hers because the entire upstairs is her bedroom! She slowly walked up the stairs...
