• It felt like any Saturday night. The moon was high in the sky, and I was with Matt again. We were on the road driving to somewhere quiet so it could be just the two of us. He pulled over on the side of the road, and guided me to the middle of a large grass field. We settled down beside eachother on the blanket he had brought along, and began to talk. We laughed, and goofed off, and suddenley things got quiet. I looked at Matt, and he quickley turned away. Confused, I layed down beside him and watch him play with a piece of grass. "Alexis, can I...Can I ask you something?" He began. Hoping it was what I wanted to hear, I quickly sat up and said "yeah! Sure!" with a smile on my face that quickly dissapeared after I saw his facial expression. I saw his eyes water and I knew right away that this couldn't be very good. "Wh-what is it, Matt?" I forced myself to ask. He looked away, than back at me. "I..I can't say it. I don't want to hurt you." I looked at him and whispered, "I can take it, Matt." He shook his head dissagreeingly and said "I can't. The truth hurts too much. I can't put you through it." His voice began to crack. "Then...Lie to me." I insisted, then quickly regreted it as he took a deep breath and whispered "I love you."
