• Artist Info: In ancient Greece, in the times where Poseidon ruled the Sea, Helios ruled the Sun, and Gaia ruled the Earth, there were many an extrordinary creature. Among these were the nymphs. Near-immortal nature spirits, they appeared as beautiful young maids, plentiful and revered.
One such being was the naiad Kleodora. She was one of the prophetic Thriai, able to divine the future throwing stones or pebbles. A child of the river-god Cephissus and one of the Corycian Nymphs, she lived on Mount Parnassus in Phocis with her two sisters, Melaina and Daphnis. Beloved of Posidon, she bore him a son named Parnassus who would later found a city of the same name. It is said she now inhabits a spring or well near Delphi.
...and I am not her.
