Description:
A mythological beast with the head and wings of an Eagle, and the body of a Lion. Given that the Lion was said to be King of Beasts and the Eagle the King of Birds, the Griffin was said to be an especially powerful and majestic creature often guarding treasure and priceless possessions.
Griffins are not only said to mate for life, but also, if either partner died, then the other would continue throughout the rest of its life alone, never to search for a new mate.
