[PLOT] Pickin' Peaches [FINISHED]

Sindri was having a downright good day.

It had been about a week since he'd set off to the surface with his handy dandy "guardians" Quetzal and Anxo by his side to journey to Breeheart, the land where his favorite nieces lived. He hadn't heard from Peaches since they'd last spoken at the Venus Mountain Resort, but he was sure her offer to visit still stood. Should he have sent word? Well... yeah probably... but it was a bit late for that. FULL STEAM AHEAD!

As they neared the village, Quetzal had gone and gotten preoccupied with some bird-like pae that the teen recognized as being similar to the source of the avalanche at the resort, while... he honestly wasn't sure where Anxo had gone or how they'd become separated. Meh. It didn't particularly worry him all that much. Breeheart was small-ish from what he'd gathered, so they'd find themselves again eventually.

Still though... Sindri's eyes wandered curiously as he himself wandered into town, fully absorbed by the interesting and new sights the surface had to offer. Peaches was slowly becoming a secondary priority relative to the sweet and buttery smells captivating his attention.

Peaches was sitting down at a table, her tail was curled around the chair and her head was down on the wooden surface. She had only just arrived back to her mother's place a few days before after spending some time with her sister and father and ho boy. Peaches had been in tttttttttrrrrrroooooouuuuubbbbbllllleeee. She had been in full 'daughter suck up to daddy mode' since the party. She had made a little leeway but not much. After a few weeks with dad it was time to work on her mother. Her mother was a bit easier but she got double time in fields this year to 'keep her busy'. At least she enjoyed working in the field with her mother. It was honest, fun work to her. There was something about playing in the dirt....

Too bad since coming back she's been feeling a little green around the gills. Hopefully this flu would pass in a few days and she could get to work.

Peaches lifted her head and looked around the plaza, trying to keep her breakfast down. It was a nice warm day and the warmth of the sun was nice on her scales. There was a lot of the town out enjoying the spring day. Her eyes glazed over a pink and purple body that took a few moments for her sick brain to catch up. She blinked a few times before sitting up and really taking a good look at who just entered the village. "Sindri?" She was confused. Why was he here? Her attention had been solely on sucking up to her parents so she had forgotten about the offer. "SINDRI! OVER HERE!" She shouted to him and waved her arm over her head to get his attention. She really didn't want to get up. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE? WHERE ARE YOUR PARENTS?"

It took a certain type of familiar voice to draw the pink teen's attention away from storefront he was moving ever closer to - the buttery scent was so intoxicating. The Spring didn't have anything that seemed as delicious as this. He squinted his eyes in the direction of the voice, straining to see, before a clear look of recognition overtook his features and he waved and jumped up with his legs.

"OH HEY PEACHESSSS!"

His excitement was more than obvious as he ran over, nearly bumping into a few others in the process due to some combination of not being used to the limited ways with which to avoid others on the surface and his own inattentiveness to his surroundings. "Hey Peaches!" He reiterated as he got closer, looking every part the excited teen. "Guess what?! I asked mom and dad if I could visit to help your mom with the harvest like you said, and..." he paused for dramatic flourish as he motioned with his arms outstretched away from him, "...and they said yes! Can you believe it?!" His grin became almost smug as he crossed his arms and continued, "Man though, this place is, like, even cooler than you made it sound. Smells good too."

"Ummmmmm yes! Sure! I remember saying that!" She did not remember saying that. The party had become a blur after all. She was super confusion of Grandma and Hjörtur letting Sindri out of the lake though. Grandma had something against the surface. She wasn't too sure why not! It was cool up here. Her sick brain was slowly processing all this new information. "Grandma let you come up here ok...Alone...Wait! Alone! Sindri this place isn't that close to the lake! You walked here by yourself!" Water Spirits Grandma would have KILLED her if anything had happened to him! Now she was feeling REALLY sick if only if thinking about the fury of her gandma. He looked fine to her and seemed happy sooooo another angry talk dodged maybe?

More processing for her sick brain. "Right, work. Ummm...Mom is in the field's right now." She ran her hand through her hair and she looked down the path. "We're not in the central area though mom comes here often." Her mom would not be happy they had guests and she wasn't told about it. Oh ya, more talks for her coming up. No point in putting it off. "I'll take you over and set you up in one of the spare rooms. Once you're settled I can show you around village. Lady Bree will probably be excited to see a new face and if you impress her she'll probably get you some sweeties for free." She was trying to think of what else she could tell him but her brain refused to brain. She uncurled herself from her seat and stretched her wings out. "Alright, just a bit more and you can relax." She started to awkwardly move towards the path to lead Sindri to her mom's home.

Soon after the pair settled into a natural exchange about Sindri's recent happenings - how he'd convinced his parents to let him visit, the trip, the way he'd accidentally ditched Beltan some time ago, and the present moment where he was almost led astray by way of croissants. All in all, it was a pretty exciting matter! Even more exciting that the trip to the Venus Resort (and without all the crazy avalanches and all that). It didn't take long for this to transition to Peach's life, and then a small tour of the budding town, which conveniently ended at her mother's strawberry patch. The movement may have be slow on account of the wings and the pregnancy, but it was still something new to experience and oh so fun.

It didn't take long for him to meet her hot as all hell mom, even bouncier livelier in person than he'd expected.

That conversation took many turns, many of which were similar to what he'd just said to Peaches, but with more detail in the backstory that a land pae may have not understood at first hear. Once done, they continued having a wonderful conversation around toast with strawberry jam (absolutely amazing!) and, by sunset, had determined that the teen would hang around and help out with the harvest for the near future - just long enough to continue figuring out himself and all that jazz.

And he probably met back with Beltan at some point to convey all this to his travel buddy.

Surely.
