Her eyes, nose, and throat still burned from the ocean waters, and she could feel the salt drying against her skin. Kleoth had gingerly deposited her safely upon the shore, her tail lashing anxiously as she looked over her wet, disheveled rider. A quick stop at the infirmary wouldn't hurt anything. She worried.

"No," Phryana's raspy voice was even more hoarse than normal. "I'm alright." In truth, she wasn't feeling well at all, but that was to be expected from a near-drowning experience she supposed. As her dragon radiated concern and disapproval, the woman rolled her eyes and briefly leaned against Kleoth's leg. "I'm fine, Kleoth. If things don't improve in a little while, I will go to healers for their opinion." She certainly didn't feel as though there was water in her lungs, but if her cough persisted, she'd hardly risk it.

Though not entirely pleased, the Queen was mollified. I'll hold you to that.

Phryana snorted, petting that warm, glittering hide before pulling away to glare balefully out at the ocean. Surrounded by water, and when it had come down to it, she couldn't even swim well enough to try and save her own life. What if Kleoth wasn't there to save her, next time? Neither of them liked to think she'd be that far away, but Phryana believed in being prepared.

Now it was only a matter of wrangling someone into assisting her. Blinking her irritated eyes, the queenrider looked down the beach. She could always ask her fellow former Weyrlings... Strange as it was to think, she knew at least a few of them wouldn't mind lending her a hand.

After the absolute fiasco with the pebbles, Aneirin was already predisposed to hate fishing. Not that he didn't know how, exactly. It was more than it was a nuisance and he was sure to be bad at it. He'd pulled his hair up into a high ponytail to keep it out of his eyes and was trying to re-tie the knots on some of the fishing nets he'd been given responsibility for. They wouldn't do anyone any good in this state.

Even the smallest kid at a coastal hold usually knew a bit of something about this. He'd settled himself on a largeish rock and was bent over his work. Maybe if he got this sorted out he'd be able to actually help with the Weyr's efforts. Even this could be seen as helpful, but it just didn't feel like enough. Frowning in concentration, the courtesan-turned-Candidate surveyed the net in his lap. It wasn't looking worse, at least.

Her lips pursed briefly at the sight of a young man working on a fishing net, wondering dryly if he'd appreciate knowing she'd torn yet another one that he might end up repairing later. Phryana's eyes flicked over him, unconsciously plucking out details. He was a beautiful individual with long hair that he'd currently swept back and tied to keep out of his face. She didn't recognize him, but that wasn't a surprise.

Kleoth, however, did not find that acceptable. She kept to the shallows so as not to come across as too frightening--she was, after all, a very large dragon--but rumbled a greeting even as she fixed her blue eyes upon him.

Feeling her dragon's patient expectation in the back of her mind had her affectionately rolling her eyes, and Phryana approached so she wouldn't have to yell down the beach. "She doesn't know you, and she'd like to rectify that. Her name is Kleoth." She paused to clear her throat, grimacing as she did so.

Glancing up from his work, Aneirin was surprised to find that the person addressing him was none other than Kleoth's rider Phryana. He was more surprised by what she was actually saying, however. "You can tell her that I'm Aneirin."

Although why a queen dragon wanted to know, he couldn't begin to say. Holding the net carefully in his hands so that he didn't lose his place, he cocked his head to the said. "Then I suppose you must be Phryana? And that would be Kleoth?" One lone Candidate was far less memorable than a queenrider, although Aneirin had not been present when Kleoth had hatched, let alone when Phyrana had Impressed. But there were a limited number of queens in the Weyr, and even at Western people tended to remember them.

With introductions made, Kleoth seemed satisfied to speak to the young man herself. To speak to him without warning might be intrusive and, though it always left her politely puzzled, she knew some Candidates were far from used to dragons. Aneirin. She greeted warmly, enjoying the sound of it. It is a pleasure.

"Correct." She confirmed, thought it still felt odd to be known throughout the Weyr. "Have you been at Western long?" Abrupt, perhaps, but she certainly hadn't seen him while she'd been Standing, and she knew she would have remembered that long hair if he'd been a Candidate for Khamaith's clutch. "Times have been interesting as of late." Her gaze wandered over the net for a moment, her lip curling. "Be careful, if they have you pulling those in. It's all too easy to fall in and nearly drown yourself."

Speaking from experience, of course.
