Week 2 Wher Bonding

Day 5 Prompts

Grave had been experimenting with this getting up business. Standing really was all they were attempting right now. Tucking their legs up under themselves the pup managed to straighten their front legs, then their back. It lasted about a second, before the pup tilted sideways. They stayed ridged and flopped onto their side, where Grave remained.

Scooching around had been fun, but Moonlight had now found themselves on the far side of the den away from their siblings. The pup began to trill sadly. They did not like being alone.

Being able to see and a bit better at moving meant that once Blood got hungry they started moving around the cavern. A series of insistent peeps as the pup nudged towards the smell of food. They would get it themselves if they had to.

Day 6 Prompts

Even as uninterested as Hidden was in interacting with the candidates, even they had to give in to hunger from time to time. Picking themselves up as best they could, the pup began the long shuffle over to where the meat was kept. They didn't need to beg someone to get it, they could do it by themselves.

Ancient was starting to get a grasp on this standing business. So long as they didn't move the pup was able to stand upright. They mostly had a grip on the swaying so they didn't fall over. Of course once they started walking it all went a bit wrong. This time the pup stumbled forward, tripping over the lump of their sibling and tumbling down in a heap.

Despite being tripped over Grave didn't seem all that fussed. The pup lifted their head just enough to see their sibling struggling to get back to their feet, before flopping their head back onto the sand. Drawing in a deep breath, Grave gave a long sighing groan, a noise they were becoming rather known for.

Day 7 Prompts

When a wher had as short legs, and as poor control over them, as Water did even a short distance could seem insurmountable. To their credit Water did try. Climbing to their feet time and again they tried to cross the cavern, determinedly making their way towards the food they were radiating their desire for.

Blood was doing quiet well for themselves. They were one of the strongest pups and were already able to stand confidently. Walking was a bit more of a struggle. Blood was finding that once they started moving it was difficult to stop. That was what, on this particular day, sent the pup barrelling into a wall of the den with a heavy thud.

It was odd, being surrounded by people, whers, and pups, but still feeling isolated. With an almost silent whine Misshapen curled up into a ball, tucking their thick tail around themselves. They felt so alone that the feeling radiated off them in waves of sadness.
