Welcome to a new holiday ORP.

__________Though the sun had yet to sink low in the sky beyond the canopy, Kekomura was lit with a glow all its own within the jungle expanse. Pae'il of all types hustled along the village pathways, some with food, others lighting candles and torches to fill the village with a warm, welcoming glow. Friends and newcomers alike called out greetings as children ran along in groups, laughing and screaming with glee. Most of the children (and a few of the adults) seemed to have dressed themselves with creative costumes, some simple and others elaborate.

The air was filled with the scent of cinnamon and spices. Later, it would also be filled the scents of food and drink, but the feast was not yet ready. Several Pae were already preparing a massive table in the central meeting area. It seemed a few extra tables had been added this year to allow for the village's growth. These additional tables didn't seem to match the massive central table, as if they had been brought from nearby houses to supplement...

Kekomura's Matriarch busied herself between tables, overseeing as much as she was doing herself. "Ah! Those centerpieces look lovely, dear! Thank you so much for doing that!" she called to another angel with a warm smile before turning to straighten some chairs.

Takeko had shed her normal garb in exchange for an ornate full-length kimono for the occasion this evening, though she normally didn't go quite so formal. Special occasion and all that. And the children had insisted she join them in dressing up, so who was she to argue?

Casting an eye towards her eldest son who had insisted on overseeing the smoking and grilling preparations, she chuckled to herself and offered a warning. "Kane, be sure to keep an eye out for Nyra's new little ones. They're quicker than you would think and I'd rather they not get into the roasts until they're cooked. I'm watching you too, sir!" she teased the demon before heading back towards the central square with a laugh.

The meeting area was cast in a warm orange light from the torches and candles, which would be aided by the setting sun as time passed. The distinctive smell of cinnamon and apples wafted through the air and she allowed herself to breathe deeply. Already, several children were running through the preparations in costume before being shoo'd away to go have fun elsewhere by their parents. Her heart swelled at the sight of community and connection and she could hardly believe such a place had grown from her little family home all those years ago...

The air around the small tree off to the side of the clearing grew icy cold. Smoke began to bellow out from it's roots until it covered a small area of grass that was slowly dying and shriveling up simultaneously. Out of this dark and dreary pocket of air, stepped a small reddish orange teen with snakes on her head, leading a slighter larger preteen purple and orange danger noodle. Only this snake was wearing a costume that looked alarming similar to the now dead Venus. Blonde curly wig, and small and pink feathered wings. Her purple face painted in a soft, pale blush. A dark liner lined her eyes in thin, expressive design. And a red lipstick, it's shade a color that resembled blood more than lipstick upon closer inspection, glazed her thin, reptillian lips. Her white toga shone in the darkened night.

And maegara couldnt be prouder.

"You ready for this, baby?"

Nonougo nodded, her eyes darting around for predators and prey.

"Then let's go party!" Maegara quickly closed the portal behind her and off they went to play in the night.

Pelagious took a different route. After his adventures trick or treating, he was tired and hungry. The nights just didnt last forever for him anymore, it seemed. When did his age catch up to him?

Shaking his head, he moseyed on down the path that the small fairy was currently directing her army of minions from. He stopped his paper ma ch ed march of wibble wobbles and smiled at the lady, still unaware that his grapes had been splattered in mud and he had broken twigs in his hair.

Sticking an arm out, the one not holding the bag of candy, he said "Love what you're doing wi th the place darling. Looks absolutely smashing."

There was no way she would let herself miss it, not this year. Not that she had missed it the year prior, but... She didn't wish to miss it either. Okay, that may have been a misleading statement, sure, but she didn't think too hard about it.

Fully dressed up for the part, the angel had her hair braided into two pigtails on either end and what appeared to be a milk-maid's dress. Or, well, a very liberal interpretation of some of the clothing to be found at Kurt's Ranch; it had been a while since she lived there, so it likely scarcely resembled the real thing any longer.

Now, normally her first order of business would be to go offer a friendly hello to the local matriarch - Takeko - and compliment her on her lovely dress, but she seemed busy enough as it was. So instead she decided to wander off to see if she couldn't siphon some meat while the resident smoker wasn't looking.

He'd certainly know what her intention was - she never was skilled at hiding things.

"Yo Kane, need any help?"

Maegara slid over to the buffet and grabbed a plate. She hated to admit it, but the place looked nice. Well, nice for the mortal plane. The breezy fall temps held scents of fall. She turned toward Nonougo, across the table of treats, and held up a tiny caramel cake shaped like a bone. "Want a piece of my heart?" She joked, feeling pride when a flash of a smile crossed her pet danger noodle's painted face.

"Oh, come on. That was good. "

Nonougo rolled her eyes as her guardian snorted at herself. Sometimes she felt bad for her. Her job had ruined her outlook on love and it was sad. Shaking her head, she grabbed a candy apple and pointed it at Maegara. "My bark is worse than my bite." She said, waving the apple around. They both laughed.

His mom was right. Mortals were weird. Bananas Karen was a weird name for some sort of harvest festival. He didn't understand it himself. What he DID understand was free weird mortal stuff. Sure, he could have the cherubs get him anything he wanted but who was he to turn down such hospitality? Maybe he could find this Karen and find out why she liked bananas so much.

He wasn't much for theatrics of some of his families entrances to these events. He was happy to appear in a gentle green mist hidden just within the trees. The teen stretched out and flapped his wings before heading towards the town. As he walked he made sure his that his truly terrifying costume was still in one piece. He had toyed with the idea of just wearing his battle armor but he wore that every day. So he went with the ugliest thing he could think of. His garb was patterned with swirls and coloured in a mix of yellow, pinks, and dark purples. He had fabric around his wings designed in likeness of the bat, mostly that dark purple and yellow. He had gone and dyed his hair dark purple with pink tips. The cherubs were amazing and made him a bunch of blue plush snakes which he placed in his hair. He was truly horrifying and hopefully he didn't give the children nightmares.

The wonderful smell of the food caught his attention first. He slowly made his way over and looked at what was available. He picked up a pumpkin flavored cookie and bit into it. It was nice for mortal standards. This could be a fun little outing. The best part was nothing was pink.

Maegara went to grab some roasted meat and froze, halfway to it. Straight ahead was a very crudely made version of....herself. with the big dumb bimbo underneath it.

Now she'd normally be impressed, had it been a mortal, but since it was HIM, she highly doubted he had made it himself. Of all the nerve... Time to teach the idiot a lesson.

Grabbing a skewer of meat, she silently stormed over and lightly poked him in the side he wasn't looking at. "THERE BE NO FURIES ALLOWED HERE" she whispered ominously, disguising her voice as deep and rumbly.

The feeling of something hard poking him in the side made his brain switch straight into his training battle mode. His brain didn't even processes the words spoken. He spun in a swift motion, his hand grabbing on to what ever object was and- Oh it was just her.

Theras' face frowned for two reasons. One, she wasn't any threat. Two, he had gripped the meat on the skewer into a nice puree between his fingers. Gross. He calmly grabbed one of the many strangely colored napkins around the buffet and wiped his hand off. What was she going on about? Something about no furies. He wasn't paying too much attention to the angry demon deity.

"Oh hey, great mask you have on. I figured I had the best shot for worst looking get up but I mean how can I compare to what you have on?"

Maegara didn't flinch when Theras spun around and grabbed her by the throat. Hell, it wouldn't be the first time someone had tried to choke her out. Her job was a tad bit dangerous. So yeah. The throat grab didn't phase her a bit.

She did however sneer when he insulted her face. At least her's was home grown, so to speak. She told him as much.

"At least I made mine, myself. How many lil critters did you have working on yours? And you still look worse than the bottom of a well? Shame. Without Venus, they must be loosing their touch." She said, adding a tiny touch to his nose with her forefinger. Then she giggled.
