Gold Julith has brought with her an entourage of 14 dragons (including J'hm and Blue Foreyath). The reasons why these riders and dragons have risked coming North are as varied as the dragons themselves, but their stories are sure to be interesting. These dragons have no guarantee of immunity from the plague and they all came North knowing that they will never be able to return South, and that they very well might catch the plague and perish.

The entourage have been careful to avoid contact with the Northern dragons, and therefore have not contracted the plague in the month they have been in Igen. Now that they have revealed themselves, it will only be a matter of time before symptoms begin to appear.

This is where you guys come in. These lovely individuals are all available for adoption. Unfortunately with this opportunity comes a risk. Read on if you're interested in nabbing a member of Julith's entourage.

Rules
- First come first serve to reserve a member.
- Fill out the basic profile to reserve a member.
- Max two reservations per player for the time being
- Dragons may be Bronze, Brown, Blue, Green, or White.
- Until the end of August your character will not require a full profile to be used in threads.
- On September 1st, all members will be rolled to see how they fair against the plague.
- For each IC post in the guild you have made with the entourage member, they will gain a +1 to their dice roll, improving their chance of surviving the plague.
- Remember that the plague had a 90% fatality rate, so the more you rp the better chance your pair have of surviving.
- All surviving members will receive fully custom art of their dragon.
- Once the event is over characters will need a complete profile before being used in play.
- If you want to play your character as being sick/ dying during contest this is entirely up to you. However, please note that playing your dragon getting sick and then improving will not excuse them from the roll in September.

Rider Age: 86
Rider Description: Some might wonder how a rider as old as J'hm is still going. There's no real answer. He just keeps going. Although his hair has gone from the top of his head, a wispy poof of white circles the back of his head, as well as forming large bushy eyebrows above his murky brown eyes. J'hm can often be seen squinting, until someone reminds him to put on his thick spectacles, which make his eyes seem almost comedically large. The old man is skinny and wrinkled, looking every day his age. He walks with a noticeable stoop, and his movements are noticeably shaking. Despite all this he's a cheerful fellow, often showing off his mostly toothless grin.

Dragon Description: This dragon is old. More grey than blue these days, the dragon has the look of a drizzly sky. Stringy muscle is wrapped in hide that has lost any hint of shine and most of its elasticity. If you get Foreyath to open his mouth you'll see that his teeth are largely worn down from firestone, and it's been many a turn since he was cleared to chew it. Mostly he likes to pick up soft squishy prey when he can.

What made your pair willing to risk a 9/10 chance of dying for this venture? The way they see it, they've had a good run. Seventy turns together is nothing to sniff at, and if them not getting another means a better hope for the North, well, they reckon that's worth the risk.

Rider Name: C'ran
Rider Age: 24
Rider Description: A sun-kissed creature, C'ran grew up on a farm in the Southern lowlands that grew berries flourishing in the shallow waters. He had never much dreamed the life of a rider, but it found him, and then two creatures entered his life, his dragon Tefelath and his now-wife Leiya, both of them so beautiful, no landscape could possibly compare, and at roughly the same time.

C'ran can be impatient, but is not unaccustomed to situations that may be uncomfortable. It was this imperviousness to discomfort that drove him to join the northing party, and take both of his beauties with him. His hope is that he can, bare minimum, help keep one of the weyrs up north from falling into ruin while the poor fools left behind try to rebuild enough to cover the continent. He'd like to hope things don't go sharding on him or either of his lovely little rainbows, but... Shells if he isn't gonna try!

Dragon Colour: Green
Dragon Description: Payikith can be a... challenging sort to get along with. Sarcasm is a rare gift she totes around and often misuses, understanding the speech method to be a common part of human culture. It more often that not just comes off as being snarky or bitchy, though, and C'ran has taken to just smiling and stroking her hide to soothe the bratty Green.

What made your pair willing to risk a 9/10 chance of dying for this venture?
C'ran realizes that a Dragon Rider's life comes with no certainty but that sadness and death will eventually occur, just as with everyone. He is no stranger to uncomfortable situations, and has come to terms with the idea that the northerners suffer just that. Thread is not far off, and the north needs as much help as it can get to survive.

Despite her snarky outward behavior, Tefelath has a noble heart all her own pounding in her chest. She did not need much convincing to act as a comfort and huntress for those going north, and to train those young idiots up north how a real green flies! ... Also it sounded like C'ran was going if he had to travel by boat, and she wasn't having that nonsense.

Rider Name: K'ndayo
Rider Age: 29
Rider Description:

Formerly Ekundayo, he grew up as a freshwater fisherman, mainly sticking to the river waters. His family's small hold is called Shellshoal, and is located along the banks of the Paradise River, near Monaco Bay Weyr. It should come as no surprise that when he was Searched, he later Impressed at Monaco Bay.

Sometime after Impression, he met En'il and it was love at first sight. The way K'ndayo is, how he acts, and his usual motives, all seemed at war with his true intentions. So it took time and a lot of effort on his part, to convince En'il that his love was true, but eventually he won his heart. Now that his weyrmate is stuck in the North, he has decided that he would rather chance almost certain death than to live without him.

His name Ekundayo is Yoruba for "sorrow becomes joy." (behindthename.com) I chose this for him because he is such a dark character that both his dragon and his weyrmate brought joy into his life.

Dragon Description:

Audrath Impressed to Ekundayo in his 19th Turn. At the time, the young fisherman felt at odds with his surroundings, and a little old to start the Candidate life. Audrath changed that for him. The Blue was very positive and could always talk K'ndayo into doing (good) things he might not otherwise feel inclined or confident to do.

The name Audrath comes from the given name Audra, Lithuanian, and meaning "storm." (BehindtheName) I chose this because his first incarnation was a stormy blue color. Kind of steely blue-grey.

K'ndayo knows the risk, but it is a better chance that he will see his weyrmate again. Even if it's just for a short time, with illness that leads to death, it's still better than "never again."

Rider Age: 24
Rider Description: Trussed in common brown hair and eyes the color of lakeside soil, Leiya has always been a cautious creature, staying in from dangerous games as a child to read books and learn more. As one of the daughters of a lesser hold, the liberty wasn't hard to come by, though it was sometimes well-earned, and despite her time in quiet places, her skin's tan matches many of her brothers, and her freckles are as many. She can, and occasionally does, rattle off lines from the text she's reading, sometimes not even intending to. After being searched, she didn't have as much ambition as some of the other candidates, and often tried to find ways to avoid notice so she could spend her days in the library. Fortunately, this was not allowed, when one day the bugles rang that the latest clutch was shaking in their shells. After obtaining her playful companion, she began to grow more ambitious, to match his own urge to progress, when a young man was added to the candidate pool. She curiously kept contact with him, offering pointers on how to get work done in a way that left little notice, and quickly found herself enamoured with him. She missed their talks after he impressed, for the short while it took, but has since formed a romantic connection she keeps alive with him.

Dragon Description: Gavianth is a playful creature, willing to run games and pounce about with any whelp, and sometimes even chasing flits about as though he were playing tag. He is not unknown for getting himself into strange places by following tiny sights and sounds, either, and has, in the past, been prone to wandering off to sate his curiousity. When presented with a challenge, however, he will rise with every ounce he can muster to meet it, and exceed expectations. He enjoys races for their competitive nature, and is easy to goad into them.

Leiya loves C’ran. It was his idea to go with the group, and Leiya knew one’s he’d made his mind up there was no changing it. She’s afraid, but as long as she’s with him...

Rider Name: Dimeti
Rider Age: 29
Rider Description: Dimeti seems to have multiple personalities. Sometimes smooth as silk, he can try to talk you out of your thickest winter coat in winter. A wizard with words, it's not unusual for him to pay compliments in droves while stealing your meatroll from the plate in front of you. Many hate him for this, and can see it coming. He seems to think he's about the hottest thing you can get without thread and dragonfire, and perhaps past experiences haven't helped dissuade him from this belief.

Dragon Colour: White
Dragon Description: Giligelith is cute, and he knows it. He'll often use that to his advantage, too, rolling about like some feline and batting his big eyes at anyone that might be able to get what he wants. A master of sweet words, but not of patience, he will only put up with one individual's company for so long before he drops some biting remark and sticks his tongue out at them. As can be expected, the only rider he never seems to tire of is his own.

What made your pair willing to risk a 9/10 chance of dying for this venture?
In short? The promise of new and interesting things and people. Giligelith wants to see how many northerners she can get to do her bidding and Dimeti just wants to screw with everyone. And help? ... Yeah, he wants to help, too. Why not. Maybe it can be as no more than bringing a wherry to the gold when she starts to grow too ill to hunt on her own, or as a messenger... hell, maybe they'll live long enough to ACTUALLY see thread and win some glory fighting it! Chance is more fun than certainty.

Rider Name: S'var
Rider Age: 69
Rider Description: S'var is largely bald, has been for turns, but he wears it like he wears everything - with dignity and an undeniable gravitas. His eyes are intent, often serious but seldom angry and when he's relaxing with friends they light up the room as much as his kind humour and interesting anecdotes.

Although he loves to read and to learn, and has a great appreciation for the arts, S'var is at heart a man of action - a life of what felt like near retirement in the south (after a new Weyrleader 'kindly allowed him to step down as Wingleader') suited him not at all. He is a man of compassion and great integrity who is slow to anger, but his ire once roused is a thing to behold indeed.

Dragon Description: Large and stately as a galleon, Nemanath is a fine figure of a brown even now his hide has begun to dull with age. He's a quiet fellow, a thoughtful one, with a tendency to see the world in binary or black and white, even entering his sixth decade of life he needs his rider's help with nuance. Very protective by nature this fellow will always try to shelter his friends and comrades under his wide wings.

What made your pair willing to risk a 9/10 chance of dying for this venture?

Since he was, publicly honourably, forced to retire from his position as Wingleader and Encouraged to transfer to Monaco Bay S'var has chafed and paced restlessly. He saw little purpose ahead of him in life besides his children, and then two of them were lost to the plague. When M'rio was quietly searching for allies he was an obvious choice and agreed immediately, although he knew he was most likely taking them to their deaths he preferred one with a purpose to a slow withering away in comfort and ease. For Nemanath it was quite simply the Right Choice, he would accept nothing less.

What made your pair willing to risk a 9/10 chance of dying for this venture? They want to give the north the best chance to survive that they can. It makes no sense to let the northern lands get ravaged by Thread. It’s also a chance to let her snub her superiors from Southern for not helping the north out more.

Rider Description:

T'eir's face is very animated, which over the years been marked with numerous laugh and frown lines. He has no scars on his easily-tanned skin because he tends to do whatever he can to get out of a fight, including sweet-talking his adversary into getting him (occasionally her)-self drunk... His one-length hair is wavy and chocolate-colored, and he keeps it tied back with a ribbon or cord at the nape of his neck. His eyes are light blue and almost always smiling because he rarely gets angry. His clothing tends to be a little nicer than it needs to be because he likes to add "the little extras" to his tailoring bill. He likes softer, nicer-quality fabrics, brighter colors, and trim, cording, embroidery, etc. Perhaps his taste goes back to his HarperHall days, after all, his favorite color is blue.

A poet and storyteller, T'eir is slightly dramatic even in everyday speech. He used to fall in and out of love rather easily; in fact some would say he was in love with the concept of love, until he met that special someone. His poetry began to reflect that point. However, his feelings were not reciprocated and he was rejected firmly in public and it broke his heart. He was so devastated that he strongly considered suicide until The Entourage idea came his way. then he thought he could die in a manner that serves the well-being of Pern, and not just his own selfish ways.

Before this heartbreak, he took being a dragonrider very seriously, and always seemed to come through in even the toughest situations. Now, this determination has been replaced with desperation and gloom.

Dragon Description:

Gilwreyth has a compact body and can maneuver in the air with lightning-quick speed. For a Brown. The paler brown patch of hide on his face against the mocha-color on the rest of his body gives it a mask-like appearance.

He is sensitive, friendly, and carefree, similar to his rider, on most occasions barring Mating Flights.
