Profile LInk

Holder/Weyrfolk
Name: Aessa
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Pan
Role/rank: I haven't been able to find a guide for this, so I'm going to kind of make one up. Varied Janitorial Duties including stabletending
Origin: I'm not seeing a list of active weyrs, but I do see Benden, Fort, and High Reaches listed for some of the applications, so I'm going to go with Benden

Now beholden to Fort

Appearance: Aessa is short and squat, standing around 4'5, when she's wearing heels. A little rounder in some places than many expect, she is often overlooked... or looked over, depending on who you're talking to. She bears a rather unremarkable head of short, curly hair the color of mud in that muggy period right after a long rain, and eyes like dried dirt.

Personality: This girl dreams of the daily life of a dragon rider. She has seen the routines so many times, she practices them in her mind before bed. But, this is not an unusual dream among weyrfolk; a fact she is well aware of. Content to watch and long for the change, she sits quietly in the stands at the very back when her duties don't keep her elsewhere for a hatching. Her head is full of lengthy conversations with dragon riders and their dragons that may never see light of day, let alone the boiling sands, thanks to a crippling shyness that encourages her to shrink when addressed, and squeak when speaking to others.

A believer of things intheir place, Aessa enjoys her work. She considers it a retreat from needing to speak or interact with others, and seems to have a pathological need for things to be sorted properly.

Despite her dreams, Aessa has no plans on making motions to complete them. Between a crippling level of shy and being convinced she'd mess it up somehow, she expects her dreams to remain the head-cannon of her life, and cannot begin to imagine how she might react if she ever was chosen.

Positive
- High Aspirations
- Practically Minded
- Easily Entertained
Negative
- Painfully Shy
- Obsessive-Compulsive
- Afraid of Failure to the Point of Inaction

History: Aess was born to a dragonlust pairing between a blue and green rider, and was put into the care of the nannies fairly quickly, raised as a weyrbrat until she was old enough to take on chores and work. It was during her time as one of many that she found such a love of the broom to replace any interest in the other children. Well, there was interest, but no backbone, as children occasionally pointed out... rudely... and loudly.

Since then, she's been content as a dirtjockey in the various weyrholds, hardly noticeable while working for her total wallflowerism and enjoying her time alone. She still enjoys dreaming of the life of a dragonrider, but has not put her own name in the pot. She will, however, be attending some touchings from now going forward, seeing as one of the candidatemasters recently spotted her and decided she's eligible.

Egg

Name: Dismath
Color: Blue
Adult Size: 30’9”
Speech: ~cadetblue~

Personality:
This dragon tends to be overly intense. Everything they do is always at 115%. When given a task, he will put his all into it; it doesn’t matter if it is something for his wingleader, rider, or simply something he is doing for fun. The results can range from hilarious to irritating.

Dismath has the magic of the eternal sunset in his whirling eyes. His favorite time of day is sunset. This beautiful and magical moment tends to ignite his over-imaginative mind into overdrive. He tends to be quite the daydreamer and can fall into one at the drop of a hat. This trait can be a nuisance or downright dangerous depending upon the situation he finds himself in.

Dismath extrudes a natural charming attraction to others with his wild tales. He enjoys the thrill of a crowd gathering to listen to whatever fantasy he might spin. One of his favorite subjects for his tales is that of romance. Unfortunately he loves to use those around them as stars in his stories. Dismath is prone to matchmaking, and using his stories to encourage the pair. His stories can be more transparent than he realizes.

When he does find a juicy romance in the offing, Dismath can be remarkably discreet. If he particularly likes the pairing he may go out of his way to encourage it; however, he won’t go against a romance even if he thinks that that particular couple shouldn’t be.

Traits: Discreet, Charming, Intense, Over imaginative, Transparent
Genetics: Has Leucism

Why Me?
Never fear Aessa, your Dismath will fly you off into the sunset, literally and figuratively. Anytime you need a pick-me-up Dismath will be right there for you. Aessa should be careful she doesn’t fall victim to Dismath’s fantasies though. Dismath’s outgoing nature will surely help Aessa break through her painful shyness, while the girl’s practical nature will keep both of their heads from getting lost too far into the clouds.

Rider
Name: Careese
Age: 27
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Bi
Role/rank: Bronze Wingrider
Origin: Originally destined to be a rancher in Igen hold'd fields and farms, impressed at Igen weyr, moved after things went down

Appearance: Trussed in wild chocolate hair, her curls are nigh-impossible to tame, but can now and again be forced into a tight ponytail at the base of her neck, or braided at either side. From the last tie, her hair tends to explode in coiled poofs to make little Annie the Orphan jealous. This girl sports a farmer's tan, freckles included, at all times, and a few minor threadscars on either arm, which she doesn't have any shyness showing off when she's doing work. With sturdy legs and a well-built back, it's no surprise she came from farm labor, nor that she still spends much of her free time at it. Alongside her knots and rider's wear, she can always be found sporting a pair of Igenian field boots, just in case labor's required of the day.

Personality: To call this woman boisterous is an understatement. Her emotions are loud and her voice carries well, whether she's belting out a favorite tune from back home or barking instructions at some wayward weyrling. Perhaps surprisingly to some, her loud personality is always intended in a friendly sort of way. She doesn't mean disrespect or insult, she's just... loud about everything.

Bearing a high pain tolerance, medics tend to have mixxed opinions about her grin-and-bear-it behavior. Some find it difficult to judge exactly where her pain levels fall and how deep an issue goes, while others find a soft relief in the injuries' lack of a voice. Whether she's just not had excrutiating enough pain to break her personality or it's stronger than pain is hard to tell, so they do what they can and send her off.

You'd think as a dragon rider, her hobbies would revolve around her dragon. However, she can often be found, in her time off, back on her family's ranch in Igen working the land, feeding the animals, rangling and wrasslin' with the wilder beasts in the area, and just generally being a bumpkin. She thoroughly enjoys the hard labor, and endorses similar activities whenever she can, saying the hard work 'Helps build muscles. Screw character, develop that on your own time!' Despite this philosophy, she does enjoy seeing some character development occur as a result of the hard work, it's just not her main goal.

Positive
- Energetic
- Dependable
- Independant
Negative
- Loud
- Wild
- Stubborn

History: Careese grew up in what she considered a privelaged place in society. With homeschooling from her grandmother and job training from her father, and cooking and sewing lessons with her mother, she had a pretty well-rounded upbringing. And she loved always having something to do. Between repairing her brothers' clothes and her own, taking care of a flock of wherries, helping to raise a pair of whers, cleaning and running the runnerbeasts, and working the draybeast on the plough, her days were busy from one end to the other, and dinner still had to be made! And it was bliss.

It was some 11 turns ago when she and her family were providing the wherrystock for a hatching, considered a sizeable honour. She was content helping with the animals, and was given a spot in the stands to watch the hatching. It was to the whole family's surprise when the child went completely bonkers and stood up to the bugle of a dragon who'd sniffed about the whole sands before settling on his haunches like a lonely wher to bark at the audience. Wasn't a force about that could control the girl as he pelted down the stairs to hug the large dragonling.

Name: Toplamath
Color: Bronze
Adult Size: 43'3"
Speech: ~darkgoldenrod~

Personality:
This particular dragon is almost more a dog than anything. He is quiet, even between just himself and his rider. When he speaks, it's rarely more than a few words, proving that actions are louder by instead diverting to those.

On a specific level of in-tune with emotions, he will tend to gravitate towards individuals who appear sad or depressed for various levels of affection to help. He'll often sit within eyesight for a few moments before asking something simple like 'hug?' to them, then give them the hug, or a nuzzle, or just stay there, or leave.

A gentle creature, he is well aware of his size and that it can be harmful to others when used improperly or exuberantly. He moves deliberately, keeping his paws in the same line and nudging others to get past if he needs to.

Something that is often less noticable is his tendency to collect things. Small things, sharp, sparkly, fluffy, round, pointy, it doesn't matter. His rider tends to find random things gathered in a space occasionally where Toplamath has been storing everything from smooth pebbles to crafting tools and room keys to take back to his weyr. He doesn't take it off other persons, but an idle item is one noone wants. This was addressed at one point and all Toplamath could say was that the items he had gathered were 'pretty'. It usually takes Careese about 30 minutes after finding this 'hoard' to return the items. Thankfully, Toplamath doesn't object to the removal of his hoard. (New pieces are occasionally added to Careese's list, anyways.)

Traits: Gentle, Considerate, Accumulating, Affectionate, Subtle
Genetics: Nothing Special

Why Me?
Toplamath is a dependable creature that has some attention issues. Careese's work-driven attitude will help get him back in line when necessary, and her tendency towards honesty means that his hoards won't last long before the owners retrieve their items again. He's the gentler side of her rough-and-tumble nature, and will be able to smooth over nerves she's rustled with her attitude.

Candidate
Name: Tollar
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: unexplored, does not have a preference in either direction
Role/rank: Candidate
Origin: Searched from Benden hold for Fort's clutches

Appearance: Built like a twig, this short boy's got skinny arms and legs which seem to travel much longer distances than they really do. Large hands and feet help to throw off his overall appearance even as he moves about. Short brown hair is rarely in any sort of order worth mentioning, and hovers over dark brown eyes that often manage more talking than he does.

Personality: A tunnelsnake-catcher by trade, Tollar is small and quick, with an unexpected reach in his arms and a willingness to get into places others can't to deal with problems most won't touch. He's constantly showing up with new scrapes and bruises from his efforts, but seems completely unthreatened by some of the terriftying creatures he deals with. His favorite motto is something along the lines of 'You only die once. If it takes a dangerous job to stave that off, then do it and get it over with.'

Tollar is patient and creative, finding new ways to catch and trick tunnelsnakes at every chance he can. He's found the challenge exhillerating!

Ever since being called upon to act as a candidate, the differences in his duties have been something to adjust to, but the challenge is still there. There are still things to work against or with.

Due to his upbringing, he doesn't have the best control of his tongue. He tends to mutter in low tones often, usually insults or grumbles about unusual tasks, and can come off as rude when he's just frustrated with sudden changes.

Positive
- Loves a challenge
- Patient/Creative
- Obedient
Negative
- Reckless
- Rude
- Brave/stupid

History: Tollar was born to a man and woman who worked the grapevines of Benden's fields. When the healthy pair fell ill and died, it was Tollar's idea that for the longest time, they'd caught the dragon plague. He knows better now, and as an orphan, Tollar came to this line of work easily when he came of age to start training for it. The dangerous work was easy to come by, so it's availability was certainly appealing. It meant he'd always have a job, so long as he was good at it!

Other: Tollar is still unsure exactly what killed his parents. It's been ruled they harvested some toxic berries outside their house and that is what got them, but if that's the case, none is quite sure how Tollar survived.

Name: Pauth
Colour: Green
Hatchling Length: 5’8”
Hatchling Height: 2’0”
Hatchling Appearance: As dragons go, Pauth is rather normal-seeming, if a bit long limbed. This dragon has a lot of energy and moves often meaning most of their body is lean muscle. Fortunately, such dragons come with tails and wings to match, giving Pauth an elegant and sleek build as they grow. Pauth has large expressive eyes compared to some, with an elegant head structure, indicating they have fine, but very strong bones.

Although Pauth seems delicate, they clearly are not; in fact, this dragon seems to take a licking and keep on ticking, and while durable, this does mean Pauth's skin is on the leathery side -- soft, supple, but also enduring to even the toughest challenge. Being as Pauth seems able to move like they're a perpetual energy machine, it is unsurprising this dragonet doesn't seem to put on weight, despite a somewhat voracious appetite at times.

Personality: As dragons go, Pauth is very much a handful. Energetic, and constantly moving, and easily E X C I T E D. Pauth is boundless, and loves to have fun, and make those around her feel happy and cheerful as much as they do. To Pauth, everything in life is worth celebrating, including like itself. Pauth loves meeting new people, seeing new places, and is the happiest dragon around more often than they ought to be. Being the cheery type, Pauth almost has an innocence to her -- are you sad? Pauth loves you please don't be sad. Are you scared? Please don't be scared Pauth will protect you. Did you not Impress? It's okay, Pauth is here for you, too, please don't cry, it means your lifemate is extra-special and Pauth wants to celebrate you having a super special Impression coming; that’s a promise!

Of course, Pauth's constant need for joy and fun comes with another matter -- Pauth is impulsive, bordering on reckless, with very little danger sense... Or sense of timing. Pauth doesn't care what the time is meant to be, the right time is NOW. Funerals are much too sad -- let's make things fun again, this person wouldn't want such sad faces! This even applies to Pauth's curiosity -- Pauth simply cannot resist sticking her snoot into others' holes and seeing what the gosh darn goodness is going on -- this includes animal burrows, or, say, causing their clutch to hatch to meet all of these WONDERFUL PEOPLE. It's simply that Pauth doesn't always think before she acts, but she means well. Of course, to anyone but Tollar, this means that anybody who sees Pauth has no idea if the dragon will suddenly break into 'song', or run after a herdbeast, or try to initiate a dance in the middle of the bowl, and it takes a firm, but loving hand to help Pauth keep calm and get things done.

Because of how innocent Pauth comes off, it is a surprise to all besides Tollar when she speaks with a wisdom far deeper than her turns -- almost the sort of an old soul. What Pauth really is, is emotionally intelligent, adept at helping people and comforting those in need while still remaining consistently happy and fun loving, almost carefree. Almost.

Pauth is extremely sensitive to the moods of others, and when another's mood overpowers theirs, this dragon knows it, and will seem to wither with sadness, or become agitated if another is angry... Or even frightened if others are and Pauth becomes overwhelmed. In that sense, Pauth is both the draconic sort of telepathic and empathic, and then the type who picks up emotions from man and dragon both. This encourages Pauth to remain so upbeat, jovial, and enthusiastic -- to help bolster everyone around her, which in turn allows for her to be happy for and with them.

Mind Voice: (#03C03C) Pauth's voice is very energetic and usually higher in pitch than one expects, often bouncing from person to person, hither and thither with excitement and joy, but, like Pauth's eyes, their voice is also expressive. Pauth is incapable of hiding sadness or anger from those they speak to. Similarly, Pauth sounds almost as if they speak through their nose, giving a faintly nasal quality that's fairly childlike in nature to their speech.

Traits:
Genetics:

Why me? Pauth loves you Tollar! This ray of sunshine dragon wants to bring joy into Tollar’s life, and to adventure by his side until the herdbeasts come home - maybe not even then actually! For all of her energy and outward naivety, her deeper wisdom and understanding of others may help to smooth out feathers ruffled by Tollar’s more abrasive moments whilst in turn Tollar’s love of a real challenge will be able to direct Pauth’s boundless energy into- well, into just about whatever he pleases! So long as they’re together, and especially if they’re seeing new things together, she will be happy.

Inspiration Confetti cake, also called Funfetti cake in certain cake mixes, is a yellow cake with colorful sprinkles throughout the cake that are baked in, making colorful patches almost like freckles, and sometimes minute differences in mouthfeel to the cake. This cake is also usually given white buttercream frosting, and is a popular cake for children's parties or any party seeking to add some fun and color. Funfetti Cake is usually only employed by cake mixes by Pillsbury, garnering Confetti Cake the popular name of the mix in at least the United States.

Pauth's name comes from one of the judges of the Great British Bake-Off, Paul Hollywood, known for his extremely discerning taste and eye in baking, as well as the line 'It's got a soggy bottom!'. The highest mark of honor for a disk on the show is Paul's Handshake, indicating a job Well Done, and it is rare to see over one in an episode at best, although two have happened before. Yes, everyone was shocked in-show too.

Rank
Name: Shaherean (Shuh-hay-ray-an)
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Open Swing
Role/rank: Harpercraft trainee
Origin: Southern

Appearance: Bearing some obvious show of a Southern's tan, Shaherean can be spotted easily amongst the paler northern folk. Between that, bright red hair, and sharp eyes green as any dragon's hide, she's a standout in almost any crowd that's not back home. Lesser noticed is her height, though, with as obvious as she can be. Shah is actually a very short creature, managing a measly 4'8 and 130 lbs soaked to the bone. It's not for lack of eating, or result of any health issues, she's just... Short and trim. (Wish I had that problem...) She'll often be found in clothing that's heavier than northerners are used to, from the plaid trousers to a woolen undershirt, and her hands are positively glued to that flute.

Personality: An overall sweet individual, Shah is known for sharing her food. Even if she doesn't think she has enough, she'll offer a couple bites to a hungry stranger. This does not extend only to food, and she can be found sharing a blanket in the cold and loaning out a hat she was wearing in the heat. To that effect, she's also willing to try just about any food items she's sure aren't going to kill her. Since these ideals were everywhere in the area she grew up, she expects others to do the same, sharing their resources as weather and world require. It's always surprising for her when someone's not interested in sharing a meal, since her philosophy is 'Food just tastes better shared, y'know?' She often has to be reminded that not everyone has had the same upbringing around food as she has, but this is usually after she's thrown a bit of a tantrum about how things aren't matching up.

Most anyone who's met Shah will tell you that she can be a bit of a nuisance. Either she'll bug you relentlessly about information she wants or raise a fuss if something isn't just so. This can get especially annoying if she's hunting for more information on something a Rider has said, and she can tend to make people irritated at her existence looking for that information. Young as she is, others are often taken aback at the endurance she can display. Some who know her best, or can spot an easy target, can make use of this talent pretty easily.

As a Harper, Shah's skills are a bit far-flung. Storytelling isn't as much her thing as story gathering, but she's a quick hand for writing, and has no problem sitting in the dark for many long candlemarks more than some have the patience for. Where she does excel, she feels, is in a song. This girl can spin lyrics and tunes like nobody's business, and that flute is her life. She's never seen without it. This can be both a surprising and annoying revelation, however, as she'll often drop what she was doing or saying to sing some little tune or diddy that struck her and completely derail from whatever was going on. This has a tendency to break conversations, chores, and multiple trains of thought.

Positive
- Energetic
- Giving
- Patient
Negative
- Obstinate
- Immature
- Intrusive/Distractive

History: From a young age, this Southerner grew up on a fruit tree plantation in the south, picking fruit to be shipped north. Her brother made her a tiered flute 7 turns back from one of the fruit trees that had lost a thick branch in a rainstorm, just before he up and disappeared. No one's seen or heard from the man since, at least as far as anyone's been able to figure. She suspects he's gone to the dragons, but can't explain the suspicion. Others have come to the conclusion she just wants to be there, herself, and it is a possibility she's considered, but she hasn't been able to decide. She's since taken up harpercraft to learn a trade, and has gained a particular level of expertise with the flute.

During her training, a trip was encouraged as a group to perform some learning up north, the intent of which was to visit another of the harperhalls. It came as a surprise that this trip happened to coincide with a Search for one of the clutches about to bear fruit, and of all people, Shah was chosen to join the candidate ranks. This was about a month before the plague, and Shah has seen dragons die, and riders end themselves or beg to be taken between and left there as a result.

When presented with the opportunity to return to a southern weyr, or to her life as a Harper, it took some thought on Shah's part. She missed Southern, yes, but... It wasn't enough to override the hope she'd find her brother. His last missive had come from the port on his arrival in the northern continent. If he'd made it back, he surely would have sent something on ahead! No, her only chance to find him, she was sure, was here. And now... Now she was hoping every night, fervently, that he HADN'T gone to the dragons, or that he'd deserted his weyr at first sign of the illness to try and dodge it. It sounded cowardly to others, but... He was her brother! ... And she would find him... Alive... One day.

Name: Deliran
Age: 36
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Can you get past my swarm to try?
Role/rank: Wher Trainer
Origin: Ruatha

Appearance: Beginning to wrinkle at the eyes, this woman has had much time in her craft, raising and managing whers for interested parties. The craft has left it's mark on her figure, drawing a great gash over one eye from a wher who had reacted poorly to a wherkeep's training and she'd needed to step in. The eye is not permanently closed, but it is permanently blind. She's found it less unnerving to others not to open it, and hates wearing eyepatches. Other scars include the rake of clawscars along her left thigh and right calf, a bite on her right waist, and another deep gash on her left pectoral. You can kind of barely see it poking over the outfit she'd held over from her days as a holdless b*****d there.

Personality: : Deliran is a creature that is beyond patient. Willing to sit and wait for a wild wher to be her friend, Deli has proven capable of hunting not only for herself, but for enough to share with a pack to earn a few extra steps closer.

She has proven that she's not willing to give up her position on a particular stance, and will many times fight for it tooth, claw, and sword. She doesn't speak much, unless she has something to say, and being mostly nocturnal means she doesn't have to; the only people awake are the guards on the parapets, and most of them seem as though they could care less about the wherkeep.

Being nocturnal, and not seeing people at most intervals of the day, Deli can be reactive to encounter. She can't see as well in the dark as her whers, and relies on them to give her an impression of others approaching. When surprised, she can be something of a dangerous creature, bearing a quick reach for her sword and a faster alert to her attending Whers. She very much more prefers it when the grounds are predictable. Changes mean something's wrong. Or better, anyways.
Positive: Controlling, Understanding, Unwavering
Negative: Stubborn, Wher-brained, Aggressive/Impulsive

History: Once a holdless warrior brute near Ruatha, Deliran had seen dragons and flits many times. She was used to them as a threat to her freedom. It wasn't until she came upon a den of wild Wher that she found her true love in life. With two adults standing guard and growling viciously at her, she watched the hatching from afar. She imagined that must be what a dragon hatching is like. But this... These cubs were absolutely adorable.

Deliran would not be pulled away from the pack. So heavy was her dedication that her 'clan' left her to the 'wolves', expecting her dead within a season. What happened was quite the opposite. She hunted for herself and stayed near the wher pack. As near as they would let her, and she got nearer every night. If she got too close too quickly, they chased her off, and she returned to her first distance, where they only growled and tolerated her presence there.

She began to add gifting into her attempts to get closer, bringing fresh kills to the pack in hope they'd let her closer. Well... It didn't NOT work. They let her make more strides closer when she brought food, and would chase her a shorter distance if she moved too quickly.

Finally, she was allowed by the denningspaces, and could see the most dominant of the greens she'd been tailing was gravid again. Three turns of solid work, and the skinny woman was so close. It was those damned Ruathans that got in her way, though. She hadn't been aware the pack had moved into Ruatha's land until the hunting party came to deal with the new menace. Apparently the whers had begun preying on herdbeasts for one of the local farmers for easy meals.

Deliran joined the pack's defence of the wher's laying cavern, her big b*****d sword in use for her new family. She hadn't been something the Ruathans had been expected, and changed the formula for their efforts. Not much, though; she wasn't any more wiling to talk to them than the hounds she now lived with. They came to understand why when they asked the right question. A clutching Wher could scarcely be convinced to move where she was laying her eggs! So... They left, but with promises they would return. Deliran hoped they'd all go run off a high bridge

So, wishing she could move the pack out, Deliran joined the patrol for the pack, standing for it as often as she could and keeping close. She tried to explain to the pack what was going on, but... You still can't move a clutching wher. A clutch isn't exactly easy for a pack, either, and Deliran was only too pleased to be invited into the den with this one, watched constantly by the mother. The then-17-year-old had heard that dragons allowed touching of their eggs, and she wondered if this wild wher would.

She drew one hand towards the nearest egg, curled towards herself so it seemed less threatening as she led her knuckles towards the egg's soft hide. The mother didn't look like she'd tolerate much of that nonsense, but Deliran was allowed to touch the egg she'd approached. All at once, the Green growled, stood, and walked to the cave's entrance. Deliran could hear talking outside; the Ruathans must be back. And with the green no longer gravid-

~LEAVE!~ boomed across the clearing, and with a great noise, the Wher's pounced from the den. Deliran could hear the noise of battle outside, but stood with the mother and her eggs when the voices finally reached her ears again. "Keep an eye out. There's some holdless brat that was running around this pack. Looked ready to fight with them earlier." It was as if they'd given her the best queue in the universe when one of them tried to come into the den. Found the point of her sword against his neck.

"Get. Out." She snarled simply... and he did. She had taken the time to become part of that pack. She'd taken the effort to befriend the green mother and get so close to the eggs. There was no way in hell she was letting them take that away from her. She knew what holds did with wild wher clutches. But not this one. This one was hers now they'd chased off its mother and her defenders.

To her surprise, the rider understood the mentality to some degree. The gold he rode was less willing to put up with the behavior and began demanding she leave the wher and her eggs to the Ruathans. "Go between yourself, dragon." she growled back. "You're trying to chase a mother from her eggs and leave those to people who'll do nothing but stomp them. How would you feel?" The dragon was torn between the information presented and the suggestion she go Between. The rider wasn't in a much better mood, but he had a much cleverer idea than flaming the whole den... which the dragon couldn't do anyways.

"Doesn't Ruatha need a new wherkeeper?" she heard his voice offer. "You've got a more-than-willing individual with a wher's attitude and a whole nest in front of you. Use it." 'I-... But she's Holdless!' "Then put her in a hold. Can't be that hard to get someone so willing to defend a wild wher nest to take to rules to keep it."

And he left. Deliran never saw his face; didn't care to. Sure, why not. Rules were a fair exchange to keep her hard labor. And Siransk's. She wouldn't let them stomp the eggs for any reaspon she could prevent, they would be her own adorable balls of wrinkly goodness, now. Her own vicious attack beasts.

The rules were an adjustment. So were the lessons from the experienced wherkeeper they'd brought in to teach her. Admittedly, she was more patient at getting into a nest, since she'd done it without instruction once already, and she was better fed for future attempts, but the bonding with the wher pups when they came about, that she hadn't quite expected to be so easy. Shortly after her eggs hatched, the green returned to the wild, in the hopes she might find a new pack. It was certainly overwhelming in the first days. Between the fourth egg not hatching and working to impress all three of the others, Deli's day was well-filled.

Now, followed everywhere in the evening and night by Desk the Green and Ransk the blue, Lirsk the brown patrols Ruatha's grounds to keep them safe. Deliran has also been known to deal with some of the packs that invade Ruatha's borders, 'chasing them off' with her own pack, mixed as it may be. She hopes, but has yet to have impressed to more females to encourage her wonderful Desk to run, and there is noone on the great planet of Pern who can convince her that her Whers are not wonderful creatures.

Name: Syneca
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Straight/Curious
Role/rank: Lorekeeper Journeyman???
Origin: Fort Hold

Appearance: With long hair the color of wet coal, this girl has a surprisingly delicate touch to her slight pudge. Round in everything from her cheeks down, this cheery little chipmunk of a girl can almost alwyas be found in as bright a colored fabric as her marks can afford, and she loves to stand out and be seen despite her prominent front teeth.

Personality: A chipper individual, Syneca's bubbly self is a source of smiles back home. SHe loves to do all she can to brighten someone's day, even if it's so simple as a flower in the hand. Syneca enjoys seeing others happy, and will do her best to encourage them any way she can think of to do it.

A lover of novella, Syneca can always find time to listen to a Harper's tales, even if she's heard them before. This has left an open lot f time in her life to fantasize about her own romances, and she has an unfortunate tendency to see romantic intentions in almost any non-aggressive action. When it turns out this connection was all in her head, she will ask a couple times to be sure, which can come off as narcissistic, but isn't meant that way, before she will return to her normal friendly demeanor.

Positive: Energetic, Upbeat, Cheerful
Negative: Overromantic, Naiive, Gullible

History: Syneca grew up a lower-holdbrat and was quick to develop her father's love of books. She spent much time in the scroll room with him, sorting and organizing the tomes and rolls of parchment. Much of her time, however, was spent more in the direction of unrolling them to read what was written there. As her father gets on in years, she has been training to take over the lorekeeper's duties with him, and is thus sitting in whenever possible for hatchings, aside with the healers and a towel in her lap, just in case some poor shardling needs to be mended or calmed.

Other: Syneca highly romanticizes flights and does not believe in monogomy in any fashion. In fact, she enjoyed both of her romps with the recent flights when outed dragon riders needed an extra body to warm their beds.
Risk Level: 2
