As she clapped a hand on his shoulder Lunathor decided he liked Careese, her cheer was sort of intense but he still liked even if he felt dull in comparison to her. "Oh, I have my own instrument thank you - my Dad's a Harper, he passed one onto me a few turns ago - but finding some songsheets sounds really good actually, Dad would love it if I brought something new for us to play together so um, thanks for the idea - I'm not that creative these days I'm afraid, I wouldn't have thought of it. Um, are you musical at all Careese?"

She hummed, thoughtful a moment. "Ehhh... I used to dabble with a fiddle in the evenings, but I'm not all 'at good, an' I left the fiddle at my brother's place. I'm sure he stretches the strings now and again; we kinda shared." She shrugged. "He's better at it than me, but ain't neither of us at harper levels. Cain't neither of us read songsheets s'well, neither. Sounds like you might have a bit more skill with it'n me. Can't say ye'd have to twist mah arm t' get me to listen."

"It's um, it's a tricky instrument," Lunathor said with a faint little sympathetic smile. "I know I tortured my Dad's ears for a long time before I got the hang of it..." That sounded a lot like an invitation to socialise with Careese again. "Um," Lunathor smoothed a hand over his hair again and reminded himself to not doubt himself - not too much anyway, "maybe... I could play for you sometime? If you like. It'd be nice to have a different audience, most of the time it's just dad and Rukbat here."

When his name was spoken the bronze firelizard raised his head a little, trilled, yawned, and then draped his neck around Lunathor's shoulder again.

She nodded at his assessment of the instrument's ease to learn. "Tortured's one word for what mah parents endure, but they had places t' go when it got too much. Ma th' garden and pa the fields." She stared at the flit as though she hadn't noticed him until he'd stood up at his mention, then smiled apologetically. "Seems I skipped out some manners. Sorry 'bout that, friend. A pleasure to meetcha." She smiled and raised her fingers to offer him a scratch, not looking to push her luck with his temperament if he seemed unreceptive. "Yeh, I'd join the stands and lend an ear. Lemme know when yer strings is ripe fer the pickin'."
