Her babes had grown so quickly. It only seemed like a moment since she had come to this beach, here on the white sands her children had been born and she and Ali had finally settled down.

They had arrived at a time when the pride was at odds, bad things had happened and it seemed there was still an undercurrent of unhappiness in the pride. She and her mate had mostly sidestepped much of this anger because they were mated, they were together.

They had grown in the pride, taken their rites and their own little cubs, their children that were so much her and her mate. The lioness sighed softly her gaze fixed upon the waves. She loved this place. Had grown to love it as Ali had said she would, though she felt perhaps her mate missed his wandering ways. She had always been a home body, but Ali loved the world, enjoyed seeing the wider plains. She would have followed him any where, and she hoped he knew that. Still this felt like home, this pale sandy place of salty waves and fresh breeze. This was home, but only because Ali was here.
