PROFILE:
- Laikah is a happy-go-lucky, bubbly troll that really wants to go to space! Space is such a wonderful and vast expanse--think of all the unexplored territory out there! Think of all the planets waiting to be reclaimed by wonderful Alternia! Yes--to say Laikah buys into standard Alternian militant propaganda is an understatement. In fact, Laikah thinks there's nothing better than to serve her fellow trolls in space exploration!
You see, Laikah is but a simple, lowly redblood. She knows that she's on the bottom of the social ladder, but that doesn't mean she can't achieve her dreams! Rather, she's grateful that her life has such a strict checklist of things for her to do in order to be a good member of society. You see, Laikah enjoys to be told what to do. Being a cog in the machine is a very stress-free place to be! Her goals already align with what society wants out of her, so she doesn't mind if highbloods want to think for her.
Really, Laikah just likes to please. If you're happy, then she's happy! A troll-pleaser by default, Laikah loves to make other trolls smile--or at least relieve some of their stress. Laikah can sometimes go too far in this regard, and often ends up toeing the line between obsessive and overbearing with her willingness to do favors for others. In fact, refusing her offers can often stress her out, as she feels useless if she isn't always doing something or working towards some perceived goal. To be seemingly "rejected" when she's only trying to help tells her that she isn't good enough, and that she just needs to try harder.
Conversely, Laikah can also be easily manipulated, as she'll do or say anything anyone asks of her... so long as they don't conflict with her understanding of the world. Since she adheres to the hemospectrum one-hundred percent, she'll likely (albeit awkwardly) try to find some way to excuse herself if she accidentally finds herself in the company of a social heretic. Laikah believes that disobeying the rules set in place by the caste system would spell doom for her dreams.
It's not a stretch to say that Laikah's view of the world is fairly karmatic. Doing the best she can means she'll get the best out of what she does. She does recognize that sometimes highbloods can be a bit unfair, but she'll refuse to question them on the belief that karma will catch up with them anyway. It's not her place to judge--all she can do is what's best for herself. Life will surely work its way out! That said, when Laikah is the one to accidentally mess up or does something 'wrong', it's not uncommon for her to self-destruct and panic. Her number one priority becomes repenting by any means necessary to regain her 'good karma'. The method for this varies depending on whatever mistake she's made, but they can range between shaming herself, depriving herself of things that she likes for enjoyment for periods of time as punishment, overworking herself, etc.
Aside from being a mindless drone for the cooler masses, Laikah does enjoy a variety of hobbies. She has a fondness for maps and enjoys studying existing ones of her home planet and the stars above. Laikah also really loves technology and computers, though she's often held back when it comes to acquiring new tech due to her social status. She does own a decrepit system that she scrounged together from old parts, but aside from basic slow-going programming, it's hard for her to do much on it. Thankfully, there's books on the subject!... though she's not the best at reading yet. She's working on it!
Speaking of lowbloods though, Laikah essentially treats orange and yellowbloods as she would any higher caste. After all, she's a redblood, so everyone's a highblood compared to her. That said, the only other individuals she doesn't immediately try to be serviceable towards are other redbloods. For her own caste, she acts remarkably... normal. In fact, she finds herself drawn to other redbloods as she believes they're the easiest for her to make friends with. No power dynamics, no struggles, just the same, even playing field.
STRENGTHS:
- Attentive:
- Laikah is a very good listener! When something's important or she's told to pay attention, she does so with a laser like focus. She's very good at remembering instructions and her mind is like a steel trap--she always remembers whatever she's been told! Nothing gets by her.
- Obedient:
- Laikah is a redblood, and the best thing a redblood can be is an obedient member of society! Laikah very much looks up to highbloods and is willing to do whatever they ask. Being a cog in the machine isn't bad! In fact, she likes being told what to do. Making her own choices can be super stressful! Plus, it's good to be a yes man--she stays out of trouble and has so little to worry about!
FLAWS:
- Obsequious:
- Laikah really just wants to make other trolls happy, and sometimes... it can be a little too much. Laikah's tendency to brown-nose knows no bounds, and her willingness to perform favors for others can border on sycophantic. Not to mention that refusing her favors often means she'll try again, only more pushy than the last.
- Dogmatic:
- Laikah is one-hundred-percent adherent to the hemospectrum and believes in it without question. This unyielding loyalty means that she never questions anything, allows anyone higher on the spectrum (aka, all of them) to walk all over her, and explicitly accepts her inevitable fate as an expendable redblood. She gets increasingly upset, flustered and anxious if anyone tries to say otherwise, or if she feels like she's under performed in adhering to her beliefs in any way. She's also prone to immense anxiety and fear if she feels as though she's messed up or made an error, and her methods for coping aren't exactly the healthiest.
WEAPON: Laikah isn't allowed to use real, dangerous weapons yet! But she does have a cool wacky looking foam dart gun in the meantime.

HOME: Between the two most technologically advanced cities, Laikah has made the risky choice to set up life in Civisect City. Chittentown's arid climate just wasn't going to mesh well with her lusus.
Laikah's actual hive (if you could call it that) is clear at the bottom of an otherwise average looking hive-complex. That is, Laikah lives in the awkwardly shaped basement. While she has little to no use for all of the randomly assorted rooms, the space is at least big enough for her and her lusus (which is all that matters). It does tend to get a little mildew-y though, and she would really like windows, but... oh well! Can't complain too much, right? She gets to live in one of the best cities!
LUSUS:
Boofypoof is such a good, good boy. The best of boys. With the body of a sheep and the head of a dog, Boofy is a very lovable and easy-going lusus. In fact, he's just as happy and ready to follow orders as his charge is! Anything for a pat on the head. He's a little bit of an oaf (and somewhat unreliable as a result), but he means well. He just wants to do his best!
That all being said, Boofy does have an incredible ability--his nose! The nose knows, of course. In this case, Boofy is excellent at sniffing out emotions, and very much tends to feel second-hand empathy as a result. If you're excited, he's excited! If you're sad, he's sad. This makes him a very astute caretaker despite his general dopey disposition.
If nothing else, Laikah at least makes a living cleaning and selling Boofy's wool. It isn't much, but it keeps a roof over the both of their heads. The two absolutely adore each other! Boofy couldn't be more proud of how good his charge is, and Laikah couldn't have asked for a softer caretaker.
