Profile:
- Slowly over time, Mahmud has started to push past the awkward childhood fear of trolls he has. Instead of spending his days alone working on his hive in Mahmud now spends his days working slightly less alone in Cerpin's club, Underworld. Hey. Its a start, right?
An overly sensitive troll, with a deep need to soothe and make things better, Mahmud is a good person to talk to about your emotional ailments and to sort out feelings. The way he tries to present himself is that of a no-nonsense nurturer, someone who will tell it as it is while at the same time making sure another troll's feelings aren't hurt too badly. He seems to pull up a solution for just about anything. including a broken heart. Granted, those solutions aren't always the best... but they generally provide a good jumping off point. And if that's not the solution, he'll work and work until he can find the right one.
Judhas' 'death' has deeply effected Mahmud, causing his deep fear in hurting other trolls in any capacity. Physical violence is not his forte, and for good reason. When he ends up fighting another troll, Mahmud tends to get 'lost in the moment' and can't pull himself out of that flight or fight reflex. So rather than fight, he flights. He's tenacious and determined to solve all issues, except his own. When he argues with trolls, it will spiral to a point that he can't seem to pull himself out of. This side of him scares Mahmud, and he will cower away from such situations unless it strikes him the exact wrong way or it is a life or death situation for someone.
Despite not being able to exercise his construction hobby as much as usual, he still holds a passionate love for architecture and slam poetry. Even if his building is usually restrained to fixing walls, Mahmud spends tons of his "spare time" crafting ideas and drafting buildings for future use. Honestly, he'd share them more often with people if he didn't feel they'd laugh him off. As well, he keeps his Alternian Slam Poetry tight to his chest... or rather, littered around his room in various notebooks. Many of his poems have more rebellious themes, and those he keeps hidden in a nook behind his recouperacoon. Outside of these two main hobbies, Mahmud dabbles in a variety of creative hobbies such as cooking or drawing, but sucks absolute a** at them. As well, he spends a good portion of free time reading non-fiction books in order to try and improve his techniques and broaden his horizons.
Mahmud's opinion of the hemospectrum cannot be said without some expletives. Firmly believing he is inferior to nobody due to his blood, Mahmud refuses to resign himself to the fates society has set out for him. His highblood friends and romantic interests are no better or worse than he is, unless they make themselves out to be. At the same time, he is fiercely protective of lowblooded trolls. This is one of the few trigger points Mahmud has that will make him fight instead of flight, without listening to reason. Attack someone for their shitty personality? Sure. Attack them for how they take care of themselves? Kinda shitty of you, but alright. Attack them for something they have no control over, like blood? Oh it is on. Naturally, this can spell a lot of trouble for Mahmud over time.
Strengths:
- Tenacious: Once he has his mind set to something, he refuses to give it up. Whether it is a task he has assigned himself to do, or an opinion of another troll, Mahmud will go through with executing his thought process at any given cost. After all, leaving things to fall by the wayside is a stupid way of spending time. This does mean too though that if he has decided the best option is to run away, he refuses to not run away. If Mahmud does something, he does it all out.
Resourceful: Having lived so long on so little, even in this new environment Mahmud is known for using the most of what he has. With an uncanny creativity when it comes to MacGuyvering s**t together, he manages to use every scrap of sheet wall, every inch of notebook, and all possibilities of wooing a person over. Come to Mahmud with a project and only a couple of beetles, and he'll still manage to make things come out alright.
Empathetic: Need a troll to trust your emotions to? Look no further. Mahmud tends to pick up on people's emotional cues well, and as well can put himself into the shoes of others. He'll treat your bleeding pump biscuit delicately and provide a shoulder to cry on if you need it. Naturally, when it comes to quadrants, this gets him in trouble. But in a normal context he's a perfect friend to rely on.
Flaws:
- Cowardly: In interacting with more trolls, Mahmud has started becoming far more of a people pleaser. Or at least, he tries. Therefore when it is time for negative stimuli, he reacts by trying to escape it as fast as possible. He hates fighting, sorely dislikes making other trolls upset, and will avoid situations where he could possibly upset the precious balance in his life as much as possible. Lots of this is rooted in the fear of losing control again, and therefore has become a shut-in and workaholic. This is all to avoid feeling bad.
Sensitive: Everything about Mahmud is steered by his emotions. He’s quicker to laugh at jokes, quicker to become offended by a comment, and fast to cry at outside stimulus. He makes choices based on whether or not it will make him feel good or bad. Fighting? A quick way to make him into a blubbering wreck. And because he’s guided by emotion, all logic goes out the window when it comes to make a choice.
Trusting: If Mahmud has a “good feeling” about someone, or if they treat him kindly, instead of analyzing their flaws he lets them slide. People could treat him like utter crap, if they managed to win his heart over before. This is because he wants so desperately wants friends he can trust again. It would be easy to manipulate him by simply being kind.
Weapon:
- Toolkind, specifically Screwdrivers. Mahmud is all about utility and resourcefulness. Given that his proclivity is to not fight, he is likely to use whatever he has on hand. That, most of the time, are his tools. Truth be told, he will use so far as his tiny little screwdriver hairclips to gouge an eye out.

Home:
- Long abandoned is his makeshift hive in the desert. Instead, he resides in a room at Underworld in exchange for doing maintenance work around the club. This is a point that makes Mahmud very quick to defend his more rebellious friends, and at the same time a sore spot in regards to exercising his abilities. While he's eternally grateful for a place for him and Ommy to lay their head safely, and with tons of great amenities... the price is that instead of being able to build as he wants, he works on minor tasks that tend to bore him.
Thats alright though. Because it's all for his friends!
Lusus:
- Mostly dove and or pigeon, with the torso of a troll, Harpommy is less a monstrosity and more of a doting and caring parent. Oftentimes concerned for her child, she is as much an emotional softy as her child is. Like mother like son. At least she doesn't try to feed her charge regurgitated food anymore.
Now that her child has grown up and out of the nest, so to speak, Ommy has a lot more free time to work on her own interests: Art. Mahmud oftentimes spends his spare beetles on paper, ink, and brushes for his mother. In turn, Ommy will draw cartoonish depictions by holding said brush in her beak and hopping around the paper in patterns. She's actually pretty damn good at this. Mahmud is proud of his mom's work, and the room he occupies is decorated in her art.
Power: Aura of Calm: Support Style B
- Mahmud has the capability of projecting a psychic emotional "push" onto other trolls, leaving them considerably calmer than they had previously been. This can spell the difference between getting the guts to go on a little while longer, and saving someone from completely and utterly giving up. Of course, that depends on how much another troll is willing to accept someone forcing an emotion onto them. So it can be either met with a lot of resistance (25% healing) or with open arms (100% healing).
