User ImageName: Morrow Shadow
Morrow- Morning, specifically the incoming day
Shadow- Lack of light, but also a term used for following others in a sneaky fashion
Her name combined can be interpreted as the shadow of the incoming morning.

Blood colour: Purple- #4937B0

Gender: Identifies as female! Pronouns are she/her, though they/them is also okay

Symbol: Kind of like a blank cat face

Profile: Morrow is a curious kitten, born into an exciting world full of adventure. And, really, what’s there for her to be afraid of? She always has the safety of the swamp to return to, and with that in mind, she relies on that safety net to keep her from falling too hard. Whenever she makes a mistake, there will always be an out. Of course, she knows there are rules. But rules can be bent, and she believes she can land on her feet more often than not. Her lusus enables her behavior by taking a back seat in the discipline department, and Morrow knowing she has a community plus a twin to lean on makes it easier for her to neglect thinking her actions through. And, often, if Morrow’s mischief ends in a mishap, she’s quick to say it’s not her fault. Say, she breaks something. Then someone should’ve told her if it was so important; and if they already did, they should have made it clearer!

This isn’t to say that she never learns from her actions, or that she never gets anything from discipline. Actions have consequences, and she is not exempt from that. However, she processes negative consequences in an odd way. For Morrow, her main takeaway is “They’re mad at me,” and so she wants to avoid that result more than engaging in the bad behavior in and of itself. And thus there is a loophole: she is less inclined to do the behavior because she doesn’t want to get in trouble. However, if she isn’t likely to get caught, she won’t be so mindful in comparison.

When not up to mischief, Morrow is a sociable little kid, though a little obnoxious about it when she wants attention from others. Getting in people’s faces and tugging on sleeves is the norm. She’s very much used to the cuddly attention of her lusus, plus being able to replicate that kind of behavior to Sunset and Sunset’s lusus. Since it is what she grew up with, Morrow is quick to ignore others’ personal space. She’s a little self-absorbed, too, focused more on her own entertainment and happiness above others’. However, that doesn’t mean that she lacks interest in or sympathy for others. Morrow is just used to being the center of attention in her own life, and goes into interactions expecting to have a major voice if not expecting to be a focal point.

Morrow kind of expects to be liked; she’s in this conflicting mental space where she believes she doesn’t care what others think, but at the same time would have a very hard time if no one wanted anything to do with her. She’s so used to company and attention that she gets antsy if she wants it but can’t get it.

Even though there is a lot that Morrow does not take seriously, she is certainly loyal to Salamire and was raised with a code to follow for her own safety and wellbeing, as well as everyone else’s. While she is one to bend rules, she certainly will not break these because she understands that some things are just too important to ignore.

Juniper instilled these values onto Morrow: the concept of earning your keep (though this translates a little to Morrow as including 'finders keepers'); defending the swamp and the swamp's secrets with her life, as it's her home and family; deferring to the more-experienced trolls as what they say will guide her best (though listening sometimes can be pretty hard); not playing with her food out of your respect to the life given up to give her a meal (though following this one can be really hard sometimes), and the final, major rule that Byakko's verdicts are law. Morrow expects that everyone else in the swamp knows at least most of these rules, and would be shocked if they weren’t. Again, she’s self-centered like that.

In Morrow's freetime, she likes to hunt vermin whether on her own or with her lusus or Sunset. She also enjoys climbing trees and trying to use them as an alternate route of getting around versus going through the swamp muck. It also gives her the drop on others, which is very fun!
Morrow is no stranger to construction, either, and she likes to make tree-like structures for her lusus and Juniper's mate. She also likes to sew, making the clothing she and her twin wear and she can also make very basic toys this way as well! It's a very patchy, unrefined job, but it works.

Growing up in the swamp, Morrow understands that the hemocaste system is unfair. It’s just not right to have privilege based on the blood in your veins. As part of a hunting family, Morrow is used to the concept of ability and drive determining your worth above all else. If you refuse to contribute, then you don’t deserve others’ respect. Trolls who work hard and accomplish a lot deserve respect, the caste means nothing.
Morrow currently is unsure how to deal with her own blood color in the greater scheme of Alternia. She understands that outside of the swamp, she has privilege, but the idea is so foreign to her at this point that it’s uncomfortable for her to talk about.

Strengths:

. Brave: A scaredy-cat, Morrow is not. While she can be headstrong, she thinks it’s important to deal with scary situations instead of avoiding them. She’s quick to volunteer to do what she can for the Outpost, and is always ready to go up to others and talk to them. Even seadwellers!

. Attentive: As a hunter, Morrow has to be aware of her surroundings at all times. This also counts for social situations. Importantly, she’s very interested in the world around her. Morrow loves getting her nose in things, and she absolutely enjoys others’ company. So, she is usually one to keep full attention on what she’s doing, and who she’s talking to.

. Quick-thinking: Morrow is fast on her feet, and her mind has to keep up. While she is often prone to acting before she thinks something through, she can trust that she’ll find her way out of the messes she makes for herself.

Flaws:

. Reckless: Morrow is attracted to bad ideas, and she often doesn’t think about when to get out while she’s ahead. This isn’t to say that she never thinks before she acts, but she certainly goes for it even when she knows better. But it could be fun! Isn’t that worth it? Besides, what’s the worst that could happen? Thoughts like these leads to her jumping into not-super-great situations time and time again.

. Blameless: Morrow has a hard time taking responsibility for her actions. It’s not on her fault if she screws up; something else is. If she’s given criticism, she doesn’t consider it as much as she should, instead rationalizing it as her not being given a fair chance. She can’t stand being in the wrong, and the concept of taking responsibility for her mistakes is a struggle for her.

. Demanding: When she wants something, she really wants it. This includes attention, and she will be unyielding about it. She lacks the privilege of being a highblood, but she can’t stand to be ignored all the same.

Weapon: Some kinda whip, though as a kid she also has baby daggers

Appearance: Morrow is a wild little kitten, and it shows. Her hair isn’t brushed, but she does somehow manage to have a couple of braids despite that. Her horns are fracturing and branching, but in such a limited way that they look reminiscent of cat ears!

Both Morrow and Sunset have freckles as well as mirrored vitiligo on their faces. The twins have painted markings on their faces as well, but the designs are different to help on-lookers tell them apart at a glance; Morrow has a pair of horizontal stripes above her eyes and on her cheeks, plus a vertical line down her forehead. She wears very obviously hand-sewn garments, which are basic and a little rugged. However, they fit the swamp environment well enough.

Home: Swamp den hive! Morrow shares it with Sunset and their two lusii. Hidden a little past some brambles, the hive is definitely cozy, almost cramped at times, but super comfy. While there are still the basic necessities like a bathroom, kitchen, and laundry facilities, what leftover space is used to be cat-tastic. Blanket piles galore, plus cat trees sized for the lusii (that the twins can fit in for only so much longer while they’re still children)

Lusus: Morrow’s lusus is a little bigger than a Maine Coon, definitely big enough to fill up a child’s arms and then some. What sets her apart is the pair of ‘gliders’ under each arm, skin sort of like those found on flying squirrels. Juniper, as she prefers to be called, is mated to Sunset’s own lusus. Juniper is as sociable and curious as a cat can get, and also cares little for others’ boundaries. She loves her charge dearly, and cares a lot for her mate and Sunset as well. It’s not uncommon for her to clearly display her affection, usually through rubs and nuzzles.

As fun as she tends to be, she’s still a stickler for the code she and her mate have taught their ‘kits’. She believes it’s necessary to understand the importance of unity and loyalty, and establishing trust in the twins’ greater clan.

Even so, social-related discipline itself can be hard for Juniper. While it is Juniper’s job to protect Morrow, and be responsible for her, Juniper assumes her development as a troll can be fostered by other trolls. After all, the Outpost is Morrow’s greater community is full of mentor figures and those of rank who would know better than she. So, when it comes to discipline, she assumes that older trolls in the swamp will let Morrow know when she’s stepped out of line. Otherwise, she is happy to be a protector and companion; a fun parent who leaves the serious discipline elsewhere. Because of how Juniper takes a back seat regarding discipline, Morrow experiences a disconnect from parental respect or fear, and is a lot more likely to do something risky if no other older trolls are present.

As I said on Sunset's crit, the twins are ever so slightly too purple for the blue caste. (ↀДↀ)

That's all I've got, though!
