"Well, maybe if we're lucky--" She didn't get to finish that thought as the orangeblood barreled through the door. Suddenly, whether she was walking forward or not, a nasty a** mist sprayed everyone in the face. Maybe Trusci was still delirious from the grenade earlier? Either way, she was pretty sensitive to it, and it showed as she ran forward sputtering and coughing.
"Man what the hell!" She wheezed, "You take a ship, c-cram it full of a bunch of ********' trolls, and then rig your goddamn doors with poisonous gas?" This ship and its past purpose got more and more dubious as time passed. Her lungs ached.
Once her eyes stopped watering, she looked around the room they'd wound up in, "s**t! Look alive guys!"

If the mini-boss reaches 0hp, look below:
If this is your first mini-boss fight look below:

1 - Powering on the ship is easy enough, with the instructions from headquarters in your ear. The screens show that the ship is functioning perfectly, and headquarters patches in the control of a remote helmsman. They wait until you have returned to your boarding pod and leave, before steering the ship away.* 2 - Powering on the ship is easy enough, with the instructions from headquarters in your ear. As the screens boot up however, dozens of red warnings and errors flash across the screen. It seems like there has been critical damage to the ship in multiple places. Your team is instructed to leave the small black boxes containing deadly explosives in key positions on your return path to the exit. 3- The ship refuses to power on, even after you follow headquarters instructions to make sure they are plugged in, and hitting ctrl-alt-del. It looks like something core is not functioning. The screens show that the ship is functioning perfectly, and headquarters patches in the control of a remote helmsman. They wait until you have returned to your boarding pod and leave, before steering the boarding vessel away.* If any troll in the party has helmsman authority, they can steer the ship to given coordinates, then return to the boarding vessel with the rest of the team. Congratulations! You have completed your mission and returned back to the docking area! Squad commanders, be sure to report in!
Maybe tonight just wasn't her night. Maybe this was some sort of punishment for being a showoff before. Her hubris, it seemed, was finally catching up with her. Either way, the gerbil pack was small and fast, and Trusci was already a little whacked out from all the other complications on the ship. "s**t! They're fast as ********> Her sword was thrown up in a block, but the gerbils were amorphous enough that it didn't stop much.
Instead she gritted her teeth, and in the midst of the hoard--

"Get BENT." There was a loud popping sound as she crackled with a bizarre teal colored energy, the swath of gerbils being blown back by a sudden burst of telekinetic energy. Her spats and her shoes were splattered with a strange smelling ooze, but that was the least of her concerns now.
"Sorry, should've tried to keep them contained." Too late for remorse now though. Whenever she'd look back on this moment, she'd probably find the array of wiggling rodents flopping all over the room kind of hilarious, but in the heat of the fight her cheeks were burning with an embarrassed blush. Totally not the example she wanted to set! So much for being on her a-game...

1 * 2 + 1 - 1 = .... 2 smile
"Aw, crap," Aerona muttered. More gerbils? What was with this era in history and gerbils, anyway? Her worries were solidified when Trusci wasn't able to land a hit, finally scattering the bony creatures like living bowling pins with her powers.
Her powers! "WHOA!!! You've got TK? Holy s**t!" Aerona was stunned, nearly forgetting about the little buggers nipping at her ankles. She swung to stomp on one of them, managing a perfect hit while still doing a paltry amount of hurt to the entire pack.
"Do you know how to pilot one of these ships? Oh-oh, god, hell--" She was stuttering, trying to dance away from the creatures. Distracted and suddenly mighty jealous, Aerona tried to keep track of Trusci in the gerbil-infested room.
More gerbils, more of them... It shouldn't be too hard.
And then Keionx actually tried to attack the bony little monsters. They leapt everywhere, getting everywhere, and while they weren't hard to fend off, there were just... so... many of them. She tried to swipe them away, flinging a few clingy gerbils off of her sleeves... only to have them be replaed by their comerades.
"Auuuurrrrgh!" she roared, flailing at them - and slipped on a squashed gerbil that, apparently, still had flesh on it. "These! Infernal! Things!" she said, trying to get some sort of purchase on the floor to get up with the little monsters crawling all over her.

oh gerbils. taking them down at one at a time was going to take forever. ephias didn't see a whole lot of alternative though. he only wished the gas could have taken out the gerbils instead. shears swish and slash. snickity snack. he's not much for talking when fighting. especially when he's getting devoured aliiiiiive.
"Pilot? ******** no!" That was one of the last things Trusci wanted to do like, ever. Maybe her fear bordered on irrational, but she didn't give a s**t. "Focus more on these goddamn-- hey! No! Bad gerbil! Bad! Let go!" There went her left spat. She swung her scimitar down on one of the wiggling sausages. There was still an entire mass to go.
At least she didn't feel as bad now. Her entire team was struggling with these things, for whatever asinine reason. Just went to show that underestimating enemies was always a bad idea...

"Keep it together!" Aerona tried to comment, finding that she was also having difficulties keeping it together. In fact, it was damn hard to keep these gerbils together! Her explosives would be more harm than good here in closed quarters while the creatures were so scattered. She opted to just kick her way around the room, cursing as she did. This was humiliating. It was a good thing there was no one else around to see them struggle.
Keionx managed to get to her feet despite the wiggling avalanche of undead gerbils - managed being the operative word. She was still crouched, not the best position to use her sword in. So, she improvised with her shield.
The shield, she had learned long ago, was very powerful when used to bash. And it did a satisfying amount of damage to the little monsters. She smashed them with her shield a few more times until she could stand up and wield her sword properly.

Ephias rips the last gerbil from his throat throat and sits up, panting. "I'm all for leading them to an airlock next time."

GROUP UP AND EVERYBODY RECUPERATE. Hopefully no one gets infection. Eph passes out first aid materials to everyone. Always be prepared. Especially in space where everything is trying to murder you.
"Ditto." She said in response to Ephias as she tried to salvage what was left of her spat. Unfortunately, it was pretty ruined, so she ripped the remnants off to let it rot on this ship. Whatever. She could get another pair at least.
If there was anything good to come of this, it was that the gerbils were at least out of the picture, and it gave Trusci a chance to collect her bearings. "Maaaan, I hate shots too..." She looked at her nibbled on hands and her gnawed on legs. Stupid gerbils. "I guess I'm a lot more okay than I thought I was though." Still didn't stop her from leaning on some rubbish to tend to a particularly nasty bite on her ankle.

In fact, taking a breather was pretty good. What kind of a weird a** ship was this, anyway? Crammed full of undead, crammed full of gerbils... the gerbils at least she could understand; no troll life left meant they could get away with a whole heck of a lot of stuff, but it was still really bizarre. In her pocket her own (thankfully tame) gerbil seemed to be roused by the commotion, but she couldn't regard the creature with any sort of genuine respect.
She scowled at it.
"Shoo!" She papped the creature on the head until it retreated back into her jacket. Be thankful she wasn't culling you too!

"... Twould be truly an ignoble end." Keionx said, trying to sort-of clean herself off. Slightly. "But I doubt that they deserved any sort of nobility in this life." She kicked away a piece of goopy bone. "Ugh."
Still, she was grateful for the rest to restore her dignity - though she looked at the medical kit with misgiving. Did she really need medicine right now? A long shower, a good tall glass of milk... that was what she needed. They were also in the future.
She as glad that he cared, though -- it felt much like the old days... yes, the old days, when she was a foolish child pulling him free of hopelessness. For a moment, though the sweeps had not been kind, it felt like nothing had changed. It had - everything had - but the warm memory invigorated her and helped to restore some of her slightly wounded ego.
