Soft-spoken and content with being in the background, Adessi doesn’t typically draw a lot of attention at first glance. She is happy to lend a helping hand or word of encouragement to others when they need it, but rarely accepts it for herself. Adess is confident in her ability to handle her own problems, and does not really see a need to reach out to others for assistance unless the problem at hand truly seems to best her. Growing up in the swamp has given her a great sense of responsibility for other trolls and a keen desire to be a contributing member of the group.
From her desire to be a contributing member, she’s taken a liking to sewing and crafting. While she is still learning how to make things from scratch with the help of patterns, Adessi is quite adept at patching up torn clothing or making minor repairs to shoes. If it’s wearable, Adessi wants to make it better. She also dabbles in knitting and other needlecrafts. Good clothing is sometimes hard to come by for the Initiative, at least it seems to be that way, but Adessi would like to change that.
More for fun than for utility, Adessi also makes little fabric dolls out of whatever scraps are left behind after her projects. Most of the time, she models these dolls after other trolls and is happy to make them for others should they ask for one. Most of her practice in sewing comes from making clothes for the dolls. In addition to dollmaking, Adessi also enjoys singing, though she’s not really interested in doing anything professional.
She is aware of what the hemospectrum is, and what it means for trolls born outside of the swamp, but does not really grasp how it would affect her should she spend much time outside of the relative safety of Salamire. Knowing one is considered “lesser” than others and truly understanding it are two different things, and at her age Adessi does not truly grasp that trolls outside of the Phoenix Initiative may genuinely think she is worth less than another troll based purely on her color.
When confronted with a wrongdoing, Adessi tends to react in a few different ways. She is passive by nature, and by and large never reacts immediately to someone doing her wrong. She seems to just accept poor behavior from others, at least on the outside. Later down the line whomever did her wrong might find that their things have been mysteriously destroyed or gone missing. Adessi is not confrontational, but she definitely doesn’t let things slide completely.
She definitely believes in forgiving, but never forgetting. Adessi will dole out second chances to anyone who asks for them, but she will never ever forget that they had to ask for them. She has the memory of an iron grip for all things both good and bad that others have done to and for her. As things pile up, her passive nature gives way to a much less forgiving personality. Adessi is not the type of troll that will continually forgive your faults. When the last straw breaks the camel’s back, one just has to hope she hasn’t been bottling things up for too long.
When enough is finally enough for Adessi, she has a tendency to really let loose. Her normally quiet persona flips into a much more loud and aggressive one. At this age, she is not likely to get physically violent at least directly, but shouting and throwing objects are definitely not out of the question. This sort of rage doesn’t pass easily, and she usually ends up having to seclude herself for a while to calm down and regain the grip on her temper that she normally has.
Adessi’s lusus is a large wood mouse that she simply calls Mama. Mama is very nervous. Terribly nervous. Adessi has picked up on Mama’s tendency to blend in with the background, thus making herself quiet and mostly unassuming. Mama also does not encourage talking to many trolls, as trolls are dangerous and surely will take advantage of her. Adessi doesn’t quite get this message though, much to Mama’s dismay. The two of them do get along fairly well for now, except when Mama insists on keeping Adessi in her hive all the time.

Let’s Work Together:
Adessi is very cooperative, and takes immense pleasure in working in groups to accomplish a greater goal. She’s the first to suggest teaming up whenever possible. Two sets of hands are better than one, she says. While working with others she uses the opportunity to learn from her peers if she’s inexperienced in whatever task they’re working on, or to teach if she knows more about the subject at hand. Growth through collaboration is very important to her.
Forgive, but Never Forget:
Adessi understands that sometimes, people just mess up. Sometimes. She is very willing to forgive and allow second chances when someone has done her wrong (or wronged a friend) and is even happy to talk things out with others… But she’ll never forget that something happened to garner needing that second chance.
I’ll be there for you:
Adessi prides herself on being reliable. When she makes a promise, she will do her utmost to keep it. In addition to being the reliable sort for tasks, she’s also willing to lend an ear or shoulder to cry on for friends or even just acquaintances should they need someone to talk to.
Flaws:
Well this is fine:
Adessi is passive for the most part. Lash out at her, threaten her, or even commit violence in front of her and she still won’t retaliate. Her passivity makes her quite the target for bullies. There is a limit to this (she won’t just let someone kill her, after all) but it’s very hard to find it most of the time. It’s not just her natural inclination to make her passive that’s troublesome, though. She tends to bottle up her reactions to things, refusing to let anyone know that their actions have bothered her. On the surface, everything is fine after all.
Oh, did I do that?:
While she is incredibly passive, Adessi is also very petty… Adessi will forgive your wrongdoing if you ask her to, and if it's your first offense, but if you haven’t asked for forgiveness or have proven yourself to be a repeat offender… The gloves come off, so to speak. If she’s going to get back at you, it will be underhanded and not obvious to anyone else but you that she did it. Airing out your dirty laundry or ruining your favorite outfits is a classic Adessi move. What makes this a flaw for her is that she tends to prolong these bouts of pettiness for an excessive amount of time and with acts that straddle the border between small and large inconveniences.
I’ll hit you twice as hard so you learn your lesson:
When she does finally hit the end of the line for her passivity, Adessi does not hold back. It seems her temper is either firmly held in check, or let loose entirely. Whatever offense that was committed to make her blow her fuse will be repaid twofold to make sure whomever it was that set her off learns their lesson not to do it again. Unfortunately, this goes for small offenses that normally wouldn’t have set her off if she’s bottled herself up for too long.

Appearance:
Adessi’s hair is cropped short in the back, the natural curls she has makes it appear very fluffy. Framing each side of her face are two longer curls that reach about her collar bone. She tends to dress in frilly things. Long dresses and skirts are her favorites. Her horns resemble a sewing needle stuck through her head.
Home:
Adessi lives in the swamp, in a little thrown together hive that looks quite drab on the outside. Inside, she’s tried to decorate it as much as she can. Most available surfaces have some form of decorative throw over them, ranging from knitted to crocheted to sewn. Try as she may to make her hive appear tidy (or perhaps fancy) she is a bit of a pack rat and doesn’t exactly have space for all of the things she collects. The things she collects are usually just bundles of fabric, thread, and other sewing supplies.
Lusus:
Mama, Adessi’s lusus, is a large wood mouse that reaches about 5 feet in length from head to rear, with her tail extending another 3 feet. Mama is a very nervous creature, always on the lookout for danger. She tries to be controlling of Adessi, always insisting she keep her head down and wits about her. If it were up to Mama, Adessi would never leave the safety of her hive. It takes a long time for Mama to trust any trolls that Adessi speaks to, as she views trolls as a whole as a violent and unpredictable race. She does her best to teach Adessi not to be violent. To her, it’s better to run and live another day than to fight and risk injury or death. Adessi’s passiveness and ability to bottle up her emotions comes from Mama’s teachings.
