Glancing at Deimos he nodded slightly as the other looked at him. "Yeah...I'm fine." He mumbled with a breathy sigh.

Angry still he had been shocked, Stryke smiled almost coyly sweet as he moved ahead a few steps. "I'll scout ahead for us Sir.." He stressed the formality as he moved passed the group. His eyes flickered to Deimos. He seemed uneasy about the Juggalo. Stryke had never really met a Juggalo up close...and he wasn't sure what to make of her. Honestly, he didn't care what dangers they faced. He wanted off the damn ship.

So he quickly trotted ahead, keeping his daggers close at hand. As he searched, he came to another door. Whatever was behind the closed doors didn't matter..they had more than enough troll power. They could handle it. "Found another door." He called back to the group.

Advance: 6
Result: Stryke scouts ahead. He finds a locked door!

As if the shocking wasn't enough, Punkie was screaming again and in this closed space it was absolutely the worst thing. Instinctively he reached up to cover his ears, but his helmet blocked that ability. Great. He just decided to shuffle on up ahead with Stryke to distance himself from Punkie and whatever weird nonsense she was doing with the daywalker bodies. Eugh.

He looked over the door- it seemed to be the same as the last one. Taking Stryke's lead, he turned back to Kursha. "Seems like it's just locked, Sir, wanna bust it open?" He stepped aside, sparing a look back down the hall to see what Punkie was up to.

So, that's the way it was going to be.

The greenblood did not miss the blatant sarcasm that the two trolls used when they addressed him. It was not undeserved though, and if that was the best they could do, he would not even bother to acknowledge it.

“Bust it?” Kursha echoed. He aimed his rifle at the lock of the door. He pulled the trigger. “I don't think you understand what a delicate process this is!” he shouted over the sound of gunfire.

Six shots later, he had exhausted his ammunition and the door refused to budge. With a shrug, Kursha looked back at the others. “Must be broken.”

"Oh Captain," Punkie said lovingly, giving him a comforting squeeze on the shoulder. "You keep your ******** thinkpan for the important stuff, Sir. Let us bitches get the s**t out of the way." She smiled at the greenblood. He was there to lead them. The yellowblood was there to use his fancy powers, she was there do the heavy lifting, and the tealblood was there to....

The juggalo put a hand on the doorknob, her shoulder to the door, and pushed. With a quick honk of effort she opened the door, stepping back to let the Captain through.

This is a mini-boss battle, the full rules and mechanics of which can be reviewed here.
The room beyond the door seems empty from the hallway, but stepping inside you are swiftly aware that you are not alone! For lurking in the corner is a dark groaning shape. As it turns towards you, you realize you are entering strife!
You have encountered a ...

Dice 1
1. ... Shambling... (+1 on accuracy rolls)
2. ... Grotesque... (-1 to all attacks)
3. ... Rotting... (+1 to all attacks)
4. ... Skeletal... (-1 on all accuracy rolls)
Dice 2
1. ... Armoured... (only 3 players per turn may use a special artifact/ability/item)
2. ... Oozing... (-1 to weapon attacks that deal less than 6 damage)
3. ... Disemboweled... (-5 miniboss HP)
4. ... Swift... (players take 2x the amount of damage on their first turn)
Dice 3
1. ... Daywalker Captain!
2. ... Zombie Gerbil Pack!
3. ... Mutated Daywalker!
4. ... Undead Slime Lusus!
MINIBOSS STARTING HP: 20/20
If you rolled a 1, take 4 dmg.
If you rolled a 2, take 4 dmg.
If you rolled a 3, take 3 dmg.
If you rolled a 4, take 3 dmg.
If you rolled a 5, take 2 dmg.
If you rolled a 6, take 2 dmg. Your attack this turn does double damage.
If all party members reach 0hp, look below:
You must make a tactical retreat! Scrambling back out of the room,
you barely make it to the pod with all your limbs attached.
Better luck next time! You have retreated from your mission and returned back to the docking area! Squad commanders, be sure to report in!

If the mini-boss reaches 0hp, look below:

If this is your first mini-boss fight look below:

If a member of your team is a trained Discipline or Endurace specialist OR registered as in-training for either:

You can close your eyes and draw on inner reserves to keep going. This can only be done once per ship exploration per troll trained.
If you are a Journeytroll or higher in your skill: Restore 1d10+3 OR 1/3rd (rounded down) of your hp.
If you are a Novice in your skill: Restore 1d8+2 OR 1/4th (rounded down) of your hp.
If you are training your skill: Restore 1d6+1 hp.
You cannot roll the dice then choose the flat restoration, one must be picked beforehand.

If a member of your team is a trained Troll Relations or Leadership specialist OR registered as in-training for either:

You can manage to cheer, rally, or cajole your teammates into finding more energy. This can only be done once per ship exploration per troll trained.
If you are a Journeytroll or higher in your skill: Each team member restores 1d6+3 (rolled separately) hp.
If you are a Novice in your skill: Each team member restores 1d6+2 (rolled separately) hp.
If you are training your skill: Each team member restores 1d4+1 (rolled separately) hp.

If this is your second mini-boss fight, you have reached the control room! Roll 1d4 and look in the spoiler below:

1 - Powering on the ship is easy enough, with the instructions from headquarters in your ear. The screens show that the ship is functioning perfectly, and headquarters patches in the control of a remote helmsman. They wait until you have returned to your boarding pod and leave, before steering the ship away.*
2 - Powering on the ship is easy enough, with the instructions from headquarters in your ear. As the screens boot up however, dozens of red warnings and errors flash across the screen. It seems like there has been critical damage to the ship in multiple places. Your team is instructed to leave the small black boxes containing deadly explosives in key positions on your return path to the exit.
3- The ship refuses to power on, even after you follow headquarters instructions to make sure they are plugged in, and hitting ctrl-alt-del. It looks like something core is not functioning. Your team is instructed to leave the small black boxes containing deadly explosives in key positions on your return path to the exit.
4- Powering on the ship is easy enough, with the instructions from headquarters in your ear. The screens show that the ship is functioning perfectly, and headquarters patches in the control of a remote helmsman. They wait until you have returned to your boarding pod and leave, before steering the boarding vessel away.*
If any troll in the party has helmsman authority, they can steer the ship to given coordinates, then return to the boarding vessel with the rest of the team.
Congratulations! You have completed your mission and returned back to the docking area! Squad commanders, be sure to report in!

Risking using his powers more would only delay them in taking down this creature. Stryke would have to sacrifice taking a few hits while he prepared his attack. Using his daggers he went in for an attack, slashing at the thing in two quick successions as his boot planted in the creature's body to further injure it.

However, the thing remained unphased. It's groan followed as it swung at him, hitting Stryke square in the jaw. The pain radiated, pulsing as he felt the impact all the way down into his neck and shoulder as it thrashed at him,
quickly thrashing as it did further damage.

Two could play at that. Stryke had an idea.

Annoyed he had been wailed on so thoroughly, Stryke's hand shot into his pocket. Clenching the watch tightly, he smirked. Click The watch whirled to life. With the release mechanism triggered, the charged beam of light came forth. "Take that!" As he had rushed it, the yellowblood had little time to actually aim his attack. The laser fired off with a loud little noise, shooting forth a yellow beam of concentrated energy.

Deimos attacks the mutated daywalker!

HP: 15 - 6 = 9/20
Damage Dealt: 5
Miniboss HP: 10/20

He really hadn't expected Kursha to literally fire a gun six times at the door. That... that wasn't going to accomplish anything. Except maybe give Deimos a headache and make him jump back half a foot. If that was the goal, Kursha had definitely succeeded. Between the shots and Punkie's screaming, he definitely had one hell of a headache brewing.

The creature inside wasn't a bunch of gerbils (thank god) and wasn't made of slime (thank god x2) which was great- though... it didn't look that easy to take down. Forger leaped into action first, striking the creature with... little results. Not wanting to deal with this any longer, Deimos followed quickly after him, mace at the ready. As soon as the creature was within reach he slammed his mace into its head, sending it careening off to one side. "Your turn, Punkie!" He called out as soon as he saw where it was going.

She had better not do anything weird.
She was going to do something weird.

Kursha kept to the rear as the rest of the team rushed into the room to engage the daywalker. He pressed six fresh cartridges into the chamber of the rifle, taking his time and scoping out the situation. No other undead lurked in the corners, and he could find no trace of any gerbils. “About damn time,” he muttered. He gave the chamber of the rifle a spin before clicking it back into place. Time to get going.

His pupils morphed into crosshairs, as he aimed the muzzle of the rifle towards his target. Holding his breath, he waited for a gap in the skirmish. There. “Adios, amigo,” he murmured. His finger squeezed the trigger, and the recoil punched him in the shoulder. Up ahead, the daywalker dropped to the floor, a clear hole cut through its skull.

Doing these missions was taxing, especially when he was not with the same group of familiar faces as he had been just the other night. Taking his time to recollect his thoughts Stryke realized what it was worth he could handle most of the blows that had been delivered. Just as before, he realized his tolerance for pain had gone up considerably. Whether that was a good or bad sign was beyond him. Knowing how to endure ones injuries meant he could keep going for longer periods of time..which in its self-was good.

Giving a small stretch he glanced between those assembled. "Nicely done everyone. Looks like the control room is close by possibly." He commented idly, excited to get off this hell hole of a ship.

“Hm... You've got pretty astute powers of observation, don't you?” Kursha remarked with chipper sarcasm, clapping the yellowblood on the back. Stepping over the recently deceased daywalker, he passed through the doors and into the control room. As he dug around in his suit for the instructions, he set aside the shock transmitter. At last he pulled up a piece of wrinkled paper. “All right...” he leaned over the panel, and took a deep breath. “Readings look good! We've got this!”

Deimos fiddles with his "communicator"...

HP: 9/20

Finally- they killed it. Or, rather, Kursha killed it after they'd all tossed it around a little. Didn't matter- all that mattered was that they'd finally found the control room and could see if this ship was viable or if it was going to be detonated. He attached his mace to his side, reaching up to remove the collar- the mission was over, right? No need to-- wait.

An idea struck him. Kursha was wearing one of these. And Kursha was busy messing with the ship's computers. He spared a glance to Stryke, wishing he could give him some sort of signal to remove the collar but it was a now or never sort of deal and two could play at the shocking game. He squeezed the box on the collar, bracing himself for the jolt of electricity that shot through it. Honestly, after the third one it wasn't that bad, especially if he was expecting it.

"Oops...~"

Stryke saw it happen too late to actually react. He realized it as Deimos went for the shock collar. Not that he could really blame him. Kursha had shocked the other boy twice and himself once. Karma was certainly a b***h but the feeling still jolted him sending a cold chill down his spine. Frustrated, tired and generally displeased with the uncomfortable feeling he yelped in pain. "UGH! GOG DAMNIT!" He snarled, ripping the collar off his neck, throwing it down before he stormed away from the assembled trolls. For all he was patient, he was still annoyed. Although, it was funny Deimos had seized the opportunity he just was Done.

He almost broke the device, it was only a small measure of bits of patience left in him for not wanting to owe for property damage that kept him from doing so.

Marching out of the control room, he went to sit just outside the door. His back slid down against the wall as he leaned against the wall, knees drawn to his chest. He listened to the relay about the ship being able to be piloted back to base. Well. That was good, but he was over this mission. He closed his eyes, resting his chin into the collar of his turtleneck as he sighed in agitation.
