"Ice cream?!?" Tamiya froze, appropriately enough, to consider her answer. A delighted smile cracked upon her stoic, task-oriented features. "Excellent query. Perfect for the time-being," she remarked without any irony.
Tamiya swooshed her hand around to rest her fingers on her chin in thought. "I cannot claim allegiance to a single goddamned frigid moobeast juice flavor. However - ha!" Tamiya snapped her fingers and pointed at Sinter. "In Civisect's boardwalk I have become quite clownticularly notorious for my custom jugglish creations. My most recent may make a place on the menu. Cotton candy birthday cake, with crackling pop rock candy mixed in. In a waffle cone. Gummi bears on the side."
Her feet tapped down another hallway. Same ol', same ol'.

Elidae's eyes glittered at the thought of such a fun combination of candy flavors. "That sounds deliiiightfuuuul! I'll have to try that sometime! Classic vanilla is great, too! I've never had it homemade." Their answers filled her with fleeting amusement.
"I could really go for a strawberry milkshake right now myself, though. Whipped cream, cherry on top. I'm also a fan of pineapple sherbert..." While simply filling the silence, Elidae wandered into another accessible room. They were really starting to blur together.

“This is just depressing...” Kursha said, leaning against the door to regard yet another abandoned room. He would have gladly settled for one of those pathetic gerbil packs if only to mix things up. He pushed his bangs back, running his fingers through his hair. His lookstubs went to the clown. “Please tell me you know some jokes,” he said.

Sinter took comfort in Elidae's stream of ice-cream-centric consciousness. It was a nice reprieve of the vast nothingness that occupied the ship. Unfortunately the vacancy did little to relieve the tension that came with the mere probability of daywalkers lurking about.
At least they'd be well-prepared if a daywalker ever did appear. Sinter noted as much as he watched Kursha scavenge yet more bandages. It was haunting how an entire crew could just up and die and leave their surroundings exactly as-is for sweeps.
Sinter took to the front of the party rather than dwell on such thoughts for any longer. If he was lucky he'd find something to slay.

They were becoming very well stocked for a well-prepared team raiding a tiny ship. The lightness of mood was actually making this seem a little more fun, rather than eerie. After all, with the flickering space-light and the muffled silence, it felt just like her childhood home.
"Ah, a joke to pass the time." Tamiya stopped at a door. "Knock knock."

Sinter stopped next to Tamiya. A long second of silence passed between them and the door before Sinter broke down and sighed. He shifted to the side and set to work prying one of the panels off the wall.
"Who's.... there..." He grunted, arm deep in the wiring behind the door. Something clicked and rattled in the next room. With effort, Sinter retrieved his arm and returned to his feet. He dusted off his uniform and hands. He then gestured to the door. 'After you.'
This is a mini-boss battle, the full rules and mechanics of which can be reviewed here.
The room beyond the door seems empty from the hallway, but stepping inside you are swiftly aware that you are not alone! For lurking in the corner is a dark groaning shape. As it turns towards you, you realize you are entering strife!

Better luck next time! You have retreated from your mission and returned back to the docking area! Squad commanders, be sure to report in!

If this is your second mini-boss fight, you have reached the control room! Roll 1d4 and look in the spoiler below:
1 - Powering on the ship is easy enough, with the instructions from headquarters in your ear. The screens show that the ship is functioning perfectly, and headquarters patches in the control of a remote helmsman. They wait until you have returned to your boarding pod and leave, before steering the ship away.*
2 - Powering on the ship is easy enough, with the instructions from headquarters in your ear. As the screens boot up however, dozens of red warnings and errors flash across the screen. It seems like there has been critical damage to the ship in multiple places. Your team is instructed to leave the small black boxes containing deadly explosives in key positions on your return path to the exit.
3- The ship refuses to power on, even after you follow headquarters instructions to make sure they are plugged in, and hitting ctrl-alt-del. It looks like something core is not functioning. Your team is instructed to leave the small black boxes containing deadly explosives in key positions on your return path to the exit.
4- Powering on the ship is easy enough, with the instructions from headquarters in your ear. The screens show that the ship is functioning perfectly, and headquarters patches in the control of a remote helmsman. They wait until you have returned to your boarding pod and leave, before steering the boarding vessel away.*
If any troll in the party has helmsman authority, they can steer the ship to given coordinates, then return to the boarding vessel with the rest of the team.
Congratulations! You have completed your mission and returned back to the docking area! Squad commanders, be sure to report in!

"Gerbils?!" If it wasn't for the gerbils wanting to feast on their flesh, Elidae would have thought the joke was funny. It could have been anything else, and it would have been funny. Not gerbils though.
"NO!" Elidae yelled as she brought the flat side of her blade down to swat at the undead gerbil skeletons. It kind of sounded like hitting bowling pins.

“Yes! Great job, Tam!” The greenblood was off like a shot, highfiving the clown as he bolted past. He charged into the swarm. “All right, you ********! Who wants it first?” So much for composure. He swung the butt of the rifle (thankfully with the good sense to restore the safety) into a pile of screaming, frothing, gerbils with a cackle.

Sinter winced. Jokes were about subverting expectations. Gerbils, tragically, were something he'd come to expect of these monstrous, floating dungeons. At least these were skeletal rather than... squishy. Sinter whacked several with his sword. What little was holding the creatures together was severed easily. The pieces scattered across the ground like the nightmare confetti they were.
"I hate to say... It could be worse," Sinter grunted, while kicking the tiny nightmares from his pant legs.

5 bamage!
As soon as the humorous effect of scattering bones reached Tamiya's eyes and ears, her mouth ballooned with laughter. After an initial snort, she exploded into shrieking cackles, hands on her knees at the visual comedy. Zombies were terrifying - skeletons, however, were delightful! She finally regained herself, dabbed a tear from her eye so as to not ruin her make-up, and swung. The sound of tiny strewn parts was still hilarious, though ruined by some of the sinew that still held the creatures together. Gross!

After a moment of swinging, Tamiya released a wave of chucklevoodoos amongst the skittering rabble. It seemed effective: with the result being a few exploding in front of her, Tamiya nodded. A solid experiment, certainly. She swept up a few of the bones from the pile and pocketed them.
"Well, that was fun." She looked to Sinter and cleared her throat. "Poor gerbils, rest their souls. Onward? Vidari? Onward."

“Souls?” Kursha echoed, mouth quirking. He wiped some sticky gerbil guts from the butt of the rifle, flicking them onto the floor. “You think they have souls? You never struck me as sentimental.” Nonetheless, he obliged. In the background, he heard Elidae prattle on about a gerbil captain. He snorted through his nose.
Elidae Bonbon hp: 20 - 6 = 14 attack: 1d6 (+1 bedazzled superstar military weapon✧・゚*✧・) ytma: training in agility (cooldown: n/a) trinkets: has some, don't remember what they are!
The yellowblod's eyes darted back and forth as they moved on, keeping a look out for any more surprise undead gerbils.
"What if this was a ship where the crew was entirely gerbils." Elidae whispered her thoughts aloud, finding it helped ease her nerves. "Imagine a gerbil in a little, tiny captain suit." It made no sense considering everything in the ship was still troll-sized, never mind that gerbils wouldn't be able to man a ship in the first place. Elidae could only hope.
Remembering a silly memory with a moment of excitement at the thought of sharing this with someone, she let out a sad sigh, before wiping the pout off her face. No time to be sad. Only time for more long, endless hallways.
Sinter is investigates the hallway... and finds zombies!

Elidae's thought actually caused Sinter's steps to slow. A serious, thoughtful look crossed over his face. He put a hand to his mouth, then over his cheeks. He looked rather perturbed.
"That's... That's really cute..." Sinter mumbled into his palm. His blush was apparently as sincere as it was permanent. Tiny... Captain suit...
No! No time for such thoughts. Sinter coughed, curling his hand into a fist. "U-Ah, ah I think I hear something coming fr- from this way!" Sinter took to the lead with several long steps.
