After nearly becoming a zombie's last meal, Rastin was starting to get rather shaken up. He unconsciously shuffled himself closer to the group in and effort to feel safer and tried his best to refocus. There had to be a way out of here, right? Maybe an escape pod? If they found one, couldn't they just hop in and pretend nothing happened? Maybe they could escape to another world where this kind of crazy bullshit didn't happen.
It was wishful thinking, but not enough to calm his nerves.

The long hallway seemed to vibrate as their footsteps echoed around the abandoned ship. They had all done this before, but each time it felt like it was their first. Static took hesitant steps. Worried steps. One did not want to attract zombies, and loud noises were exactly what everyone did not want.
Somehow he must have been loud, of maybe just unlucky, because there they were! Zombies... and more than one, which was already one too many.
The loud alarm still jangled her nerves, but as Rastin drew closer to the group, Keionx followed her instincts and stood before him. When the dead came, she was ready and expecting them.
"Everything is fine." she reassured him, "We are doing well."
At the same time, though, she couldn't lose focus, not when danger was about. It would be so easy to let her guard down - but one thing she had learned in the Rebellion, and in her lost wanderings, was to not let her guard down until she was in the swamp... or alone in a safe cavern.
"Do you think this is near the end?" she asked the blueblood, panting, "For it seems that we have been travelling for a time now..."

This time, Rastin had no excuse for missing. He'd allowed his nerves to get the best of him and stayed back to allow his teammates to take care of the last of the hoard. On some level he felt guilty, like he hadn't tried hard enough to help, but this whole experience had taken quite a toll on his sanity. Of course, he'd walked right in expecting this to be the worst experience ever, but this? Who could have predicted this?
He would have to do a lot of gardening back at home to recover. If he made it back home at all, that is.

Advance 9 "Nearly done?!" Static said, as the zombies came. They seemed to spill from the shadows, the undead husks of long lost trolls. It was odd to think of the zombies as past trolls. They had lost their grey skin for a sickly green color. Their horns had either fallen off or had cracks and decay. Any hint to their bloodcolor was ancient and dried, leaving no hints. But worst of all, their eyes had no life. Some even had the entire eye missing, the cavity where it would have been collapsed. "I really REALLY hope so..."

And maybe with... whatever this young blueblood's name was. Even if he was her 'enemy', if she could coax him to fight for what he thought was right, with skill and without fear, then that would still be a victory. The hope she clung to was that that was possible - that good people could exist, that heros were more than a dream...

You come across a sealed door in the hallway. Trying to open it sends dozens of warnings flickering up on previously-dormant panels. It seems the ship beyond here is too heavily damaged to allow you to pass through. Headquarters confirms the ship is to be destroyed, and you retreat to the exit, leaving the small black boxes containing deadly explosives in key positions along the path.
