[DRP] The Sketchbook

It didn't take Preacher long to hand over the sketchbook she had mentioned, and it had its first entry soon after.

Thine orbs are yellow
Pink as cotton candy, bro
You are the top mink.

There had been one before it, but it had been lost to other memories made that night and the day that followed. That was fine. It had been pretty stupid anyway. Over time, many poems and drawings joined the first, some passable, most ridiculous.

There once was a copper named Preacher
Who climbed so high no one could reach her
She broke all the sigils
Saved the world, no big diggle
Ms. Maria was one badass creature.

Ode to a Purple Bikini

If there was ever an article of clothing
I felt like a pig for wanting to see more of

It was the purple bikini.

Maybe it was because I only saw half of it at first
And I had a lot of time to think about what the other half might look like before I saw it too
I can tell you it did not disappoint
Not because of the bikini itself
But because of the person who wore it
And maybe the color a little

I've never seen your eyes turn blue
Or green shades, for that matter
They mostly take on warmer hues
And I prefer the latter

The first I saw were yellow and pink
In that otherworld hotel
That means you're having fun, I think
Or telling jokes as well

There's orange too, which I'll admit
Was hard to find a reason
It tends to show up when you sit
And think about tax season

I've only seen red once or twice
And I hope it stays away
It's when you're feeling not so nice
Which I try to keep at bay

And then, of course, comes purple
Which I won't talk about

... seriously, I wont.

I'm not mad, I swear
But my soup is gone, so where—
no wait. I found it

like a hallmark card in your mind
(because I didn't take a picture)

I saw a mink
She was asleep
It made me smile
To see the mink

There was a cat
Wrapped 'round the mink
His name is Mink
He's Mink the cat

I'd promised her
I wouldn't creep
While she did sleep
I kept my word

But they were cute
Thought they should know
So very cute
Cute cat and mink
