It continued to shift and move, almost lazy in it's movements, whatever it was that sparkled under the surface of the water. As it did it was, strangely enough, easy to see that the air above it also seemed to change.

Sometimes there raindrops that fell from nowhere, other times the water would freeze briefly until it. It did not ripple the water as it moved.

As wary as he was, Kaleb found himself slowly becoming entranced by the shifting phenomenon. He crept a little bit closer to the water's edge, trying to feel the texture of the magic as it condensed in the air or froze over the surface of the water, probing for some underlying commonality that would help him figure out what it was.

The way it moved made him wonder, and on impulse he rummaged around in his bag to pull out a granola bar that had been sitting uneaten at the bottom for the past week. Unwrapping it, he broke off a chunk of the cranberry almond snack and tossed it into the water.

The snack promptly came right back out in the exact path it had traveled. There was a strange moment for Kaleb, a sensation of massive charge overwhelming him, as he was caught in rewinding through the actions he had done of unwrapping and finding the snack in his pack.

Then things settled once more, the strange glimmer under the surface still.

With all the magic he had encountered, the strange rewinding of his own actions were among the weirdest. But that gave him a new idea.

Kaleb pulled his phone out of his bag, and took off his watch, the latter he encapsulated inside a little shield bubble. Then he scooted to the water's edge, leaving the phone behind with his things. Peering over the edge for a second, he dropped the shield bubble into the pool.
