The stands around Moluli seem to finally be cleared.

Instead of a crack when he lands Mirath hears an angry hiss. A tunnelsnake skitters away from the dragon, disappearing into a burrow and leaving their would be lunch behind.



This egg is tiny, the shell is completely hardened, there are a few days left until it hatches.

C'ai & Nacreoth

She wasn't kidding when she said this place was being overrun by firelizards Nacreoth nosed another egg from under a bench seat. Larger even than the one they'd found before it, Nacreoth eyed his find possessively. This one is mine.

C'ai grimaced. "I thought we only needed one."

Nacreoth's blue eyes whirled slowly as he blew a soft breath over the little grey egg. One for you and one for me. This one is mine.

And another! Ja'line carefully placed the third egg with her other two and cackled gleefully. That would be a nice little purse once they were sold. Enough to keep her going a few sevendays at least and with minimal effort! Maybe she should be searching for firelizard eggs more often...

It was fortunate that he had looked where he put his paws, the grey little egg hadn't been immediately obvious in the gloom of the cavern, in fact he might not have noticed it at all if not for the hiss of the retreating tunnelsnake. //Lucky escape for you,// Mirath thought to the egg, and then waited until Weed arrived to collect the egg and bear it away to the headwoman as the shell was already rather well hardened.

Once the little green firelizard had buzzed off with her burden Mirath padded forward to explore the rest of the ledge, was there any more of the clutch that egg had come from left or had the snakes got to them all? [G4]

Mirath manages to find the shed skin of a tunnelsnake. At least someone has been benefiting from all the eggs.

Oh, well, that was a bit sad. Mirath sighed as he launched himself off the ledge and glided to the next one.

V'lon shrugged as he continued his own search, pointing out; //Everything's got to eat,// pragmatically. It was a bit sad but only really because firelizards were cute. If they looked like tunnelsnakes and snakes like firelizards he was pretty sure sympathy would go the other way, that was just how the world worked.

The sand around V'lon is not so deserted.

Moluli in 3A

Things were progressing well. She dragged her full panners over to some empty bags, apparently set there for use and transferred the trash into them. Moluli wiped her sweaty brow and stood a moment to catch her breath. She'd need a bath after this for sure! Hopefully she could get one before Starelth woke, or the dragon would mind her smell while she ate. With her breath caught, she headed back into the stands.

The first thing that Moluli finds in her search is what was one a small loaf of bread, most likely pilfered from the kitchens. Now though it is just a half chewed, spotted with mould, mess.

"Ugh!" She exclaimed aloud at her "find". That was shafted..... gross! Moluli eyed the molded bread with distaste. She really didn't want to touch it at all. Who had brought it here and then left it? First it was a waste of good bread, second she now had to clean it up. Ewww.

Starelth stirred in the back of her rider's mind, feeling her disgust. What is it? the green asked sleepily.

Nevermind dear. Go back to sleep. Rather than touching it, Moluli kicked it into the panner and moved on.

Mirath nosed around the ledge for a few moments but it seemed free both of eggs and debris and so he moved on to the next one. //Life is all about appreciating the beautiful and the remarkable,// he said as he moved on.

//Oh yeah?// V'lon gave a mental snort as he put away the egg he'd just found to pass to the headwoman once Weed was back. //I think tunnelsnakes are remarkable, good survivors.// Firelizards were too but he was enjoying the light debate with his dragon, gave him something to do while he searched.

"Ooh, yeah. I'm S'aren and that is Vespeth." She tossed a hand towards the bulky green behind her. "Thank you for dropping that off to the Headwoman and I should get back to cleaning up. " She grinned brightly. "Later!"

She bonded back to the Green sliding onto the broad back to head back to the ledges.
