The firelizard debris here didn't seem as bad. She quickly cleaned it up. In the process she found shards of dragon shells. It made her a bit sad thinking about the last hatching.

Do not think of it Moluli. The green thrummed into her mind.

"Right." She moved her group to a fresh spot.

Moluli in square 3D

As Moluli walked across the sand her footfalls cause shifts in the sand, uncovering something.

This egg is small, the shell is completely hard and the occupant can be heard inside, it will hatch in the next day or so.

Handing in egg E7

This next egg seemed practically ready to hatch on the spot and so when he spotted the headwoman nearby making rounds to check on progress V'lon handed it over, wouldn't want it hatching on him before he had a chance to sell it himself.

Being methodical seemed like the way to go and so V'lon continued his search a bit further up the sandy ground of the cavern. [Searching E6]

[Searching G7]

//How long are we going to keep at this?// Mirath asked as he continued his own search. //I want to... well I don't quite know, but something other than this!//

Keeping 3D egg

Starelth's trash panners were getting full, and Moluli didn't want to overload the young dragon. She'd picked up a last armload of trash. As she walked the sand shifted under her feet. Suddenly Loceev hoved before her, squawking angrily. "What?!" Moluli exclaimed startled. She watched him fly down to her feet where she'd almost stepped upon a small firelizard egg. The bronze carefully rolled it aside and looked up at her expectantly.

She sighed. "Alright." Panners full, and her shirt now bulging with sand and firelizard eggs, the trio made their way toward the entrance. "Well we certainly helped, but I think there's still a lot of work to be done. I hope she gets more volunteers."

Undoubtedly Moluli. I'm sure more will show up throughout the day.

V'lon's search appears fruitful.

This egg is large, the shell is completely hardened, there are a few days left until it hatches.

Mirath's search is less fruitful.

[Fiskenerath in square C8 - not searching]

Lending a hand, Mirath?

The old brown was lounging on one of the upper ledges, watching the blue as he moved from ledge to ledge. Fiskenerath wasn't the most helpful of dragons, but he was technically assisting. Sh'shi had told him to watch the hatchlings and to scare of any wild firelizards. Since that was a job he could do from this nice, warm, ledge, the dragon had been less reluctant than usual.

[Sh'shi in square B7 - not searching]

She had strongly encouraged the weyrlings to volunteer. Their dragons were still young, they would likely only be able to help in the short time that they were awake, since leaving the barracks without them was ill advised. So Fiskenerath had been watching the cavern most of the day, but Sh'shi fancied finding out for herself how it was going. Usually she would have firmly suggested that the weyrlings not take a firelizard egg. They already had a dragon to care for, never mind a smaller, louder, more unpredictable version. This instance however was an exception. She still wasn't going to be happy if every weyrling now turned up with half a dozen in tow, but a few among the class should be manageable. Hopefully it would go some way to uncovering something resembling a nurturing instinct in at least one of the greens. Following the hallway into the cavern Sh'shi stopped and surveyed the area, quickly noting her brown and the weyrlings that had decided to show themselves.

S'aren and Vespeth to B-1

"Okay lovely, lets move on to the next ledge." She slid onto the greens saddle and gently pat her neck. Vespeth shook herself before launching into a quick flight to the next ledge over, hunkering down.

"Well one, to see if you can get a snack and two, got to do some egg rescuing." She grinned brightly at her dragon resting against them before sliding down and looking round.

Hmm leaves? Cloth? More shells? The little things were getting all over. She started to collect the trash, humming slightly to herself.

Vespeth puffed up her cheeks before nosing about, searching for the possibility of a tunnelsnake snack.

J'in and Flueth G-6

'You can't just lay in the middle of the tunnel to the hatching sands.' J'in scowled gently trying to budge the hunk of bronze dragon that decided to flop right before the entrance of the sands. They were in the way. 'Fluettth'

Flueth replied, giving a half-hearted scratch of the sands.

"Flueth, it is just helping out some." J'in frowned, looking at the bronze. "And it just a bit farther to the entrance of the hatching sands."

S'aren and Vespeth in square B1

On the next ledge S'aren finds a pile of egg shards, likely the remains of a tunnelsnake lunch. At she clears away the pieces something is found underneath.

This egg is medium sized, the shell is starting to harden, it is around a week old.

There doesn't seem to be anything worthwhile in the tunnel, just the odd scrap of a meal left behind.

Ja'line in G6

Cause they're good marks that's why! Ja'line strode onto the hatching sands with long, hurried steps. Her messy braid bounced limply against her back. There were people already crawling all over the place but she didn't let that discourage her. Ja'line just set to work, daydreaming of the marks she could get for even one small egg. Her boots dragged wide arcs through the sand as she shuffled her way through the hatching ground entrance. Good thing about firelizards is where there was one egg there was likely to be many. Well go on!

Ja'line did make an effort to go around the bronze hatchling apparently sleeping in the tunnel. She winked to J'in

Sanuyeth in G7

He has the right idea.

The large green huffed and with the most minimal effort either launched herself up to the nearest ledge. At least this one being near the entrance still had a sliver of sunlight. All she wanted right now was a warm nap. What was the point of this anyways? Let the little lizards use the sands. It's not like the dragons would need them anytime soon. She'd heard of the plans for the recent hatchlings and while Sanuyeth didn't care what those greens chose to do with their lives... well, better them than her.

[Keeping E6 egg]

"Hu," V'lon said with some satisfaction as he added another hidden treasure to the collection in his belt-basket. "Going to fill up soon," he muttered to nobody in particular as he moved to continue his search. He was definitely keeping this new one though, the blue colour reminded him of Mirath's hide. Maybe he'd sell the other bigish looking one he'd found? [E5]

[G6]

//Well, a muzzle and a few toes,// Mirath said with dry amusement as he hopped down from the ledge with lithe grace to sniff around the tunnel entrance. //V'lon asked, and for reasons that are sometimes beyond me I do love him.//

Ja'line's first choice for a location is not a lucky one, as she fails to turn up anything of value.

Sanuyeth in square G7

Fortunately for Sanuyeth there doesn't seem to be anything unpleasant on this ledge. Unfortunately for Ja'line there isn't anything useful either.

[Fiskenerath in square C8 - not searching]

It is a mystery, but love them we do nonetheless. Fiskenerath's eyes whirled as he looked down at his rider. All stern face and straight back as she looked out across the sands. Even from here she looked so serious, the idea made the old brown chuckle to himself.

He shifted on the ledge, kicking out his hindleg to work out what he thought must be a branch from underneath him. Yes, someone will likely want to clear this one soon. He didn't fancy the idea of moving, but if someone else didn't clear it, Sh'shi might say he had to.
