Iskosian
Age: 21 *11/08* Gender: male Sexual Orientation: bisexual Craft: Fisherman Rank: Apprentice Origin: Telgar (more specifically, small hold outside Telgar)
Appearance: 5'11", 215lbs; Isko has a very stocky build with broad shoulders. He has tanned skin from working outside all the time; thick, dark chocolate brown hair that he allows to grow out. Right now it is shaggy and down to the base of his neck and in his eyes. His eyes are dark brown and are often watching others. He likes simple so neutral colors, the basic short sleeved shirt, loose pants into calf boots that help protect his legs.
Personality: Iskosian is an introvert. He is not a big fan of being the center of attention and would rather allow another apprentice center stage while he supports in the background. Because of this, he may often come off as snobbish or stuck up but it really takes him a while warm up enough to someone before he is willing to be open. Isko, as he allows his few friends and family, to call him, speaks carefully and with thought. He feels like words should not be wasted but crafted and laid out like plans. When he does speak, his voice is deep and sure of himself, his full confidence behind whatever idea he has or is supporting. Isko, however, is slow to change his opinion. Though he may consider more than one side to the story, he tends to lean towards his fellow crafters and holders from the same area as he is originates. As far as temper goes, Iskosian may seem like one who would never anger but that is not true. He just holds it better than most... Until something sets him off and he blows up over something simple & silly, regretting it afterwards. From there, Iskosian can seem shamed and try to forget whatever fight or argument he may have had with the other person. If he feels really bad, he might offer a small carving as a peace offering.
He is a hard worker. Iskosian will listen to every direction given them and follow them to the dot. However, he make take them a little too literally and not always think about the extra steps needed to get to the end or the final details to finish off a job. He does enjoy carving, though not necessarily small detailed carvings but larger creatures or objects. He also likes to cook. Of course, most of his food centers around fish and food from the river areas, Isko is pretty good with seasonings and making stews.
Positive: Confident, Planner, Well spoken, Hard worker Negative: Slow to change mind, May miss details, Stubborn, tempermental
History: Iskosian was born 21 years ago to Kachjan and Ilassa at a small river holding just south of Telgar on the river banks. He is the oldest of 3 children and very dedicated to his family. Their holding consisted of his parents, his father's brother with his wife and 2 children, and a handful of others making the numbers flux anywhere from 15-20 people depending on the season.
As a young child, Iskosian seemed slow and hard to motivate but his mother soon realize that her son was just very observant, trying to understand the what and why of things, and how it worked. Life was hard but as far as life went, it was fair. They fished the rivers, traded with others, sent goods to the markets, did a small bit of gardening, and essentially went day to day. Of course, they were all aware of the trouble with the sickness and dragons but to his parents' knowledge, no one in there family ever attracted the attention of dragons. The dragons were just there and they were just there, neither group ever really crossing paths with the other. Kachjan sent Iskosian away when he was 16 in order to learn the finer details of the Fisherman craft. He had only just recently come back with his apprentice knot, not too keen on staying away from his family for so long, when a blue rider happened to land near the holding. The rider, a blue rider, had stopped to gather supplies for himself and give his sick dragon a chance to rest. The dragon, in the early stages of the sickness, looked long and hard before announcing that Iskosian was good candidate material.
After much discussion, Kachjan and Ilassa pushed Isko into going to stand for Fort's clutch, reminding their son that despite the limited interaction, Standing was indeed an honor. And with a slight guilt trip, warning their son about the dangers of a baby dragon not finding his/her partner, Iskosian agreed to go to Fort. His parents gave him his present early, a fire lizard egg that is very close to hatching. So now, he waits, going to lessons and learning what he can in order to be helpful when he goes back home.

Deldowth
Name: Deldowth Colour: Brown Current Size: 34'4'' long Current Height: 12’1’’ at the shoulder Current Appearance: It seems that Deldowth’s pudge wasn’t built to last. Almost as soon as it arrived and settled the brown shot upwards again. He’s now a full head taller than his blue brother. It seems that was where his body intended for all that weight to go, straight into height and length. Deldowth is unfortunately entering his own gangly teenage phase and, given when it is happening, it quite alone in doing so. Fortunately, his face is beginning to mature, giving him stronger cheek bones, although his eyes are still very large.
Personality: The word that best describes Deldowth is melancholy. The dragon’s default mood seems to be sad. This is largely due to his habit of over thinking things. Deldowth will think himself into a deep hole if left to his own devices. The brown is an empathetic sort and will become upset over problems that will never impact on him. Iskosian, there was a storm off the coast of Nerat, did you hear? Do you think the wherries that live on the cliffs are okay? Throughout his life Deldowth is likely to encounter individuals who will ridicule him for his preoccupation with other people’s problems. It is in those moments that he will need Iskosian most of all. There is not a mean bone in the brown’s body, and his response to teasing will likely never get past him sitting there as the words of others fill him with self-doubt. He will rely on Iskosian to provide him with love and understanding to stop him from thinking himself into an even worse state of upset.
Although there will be individuals who criticize Deldowth, he will provide support for many others. Deldowth is so earnest that it seems like others cannot help flocking to him. Iskosian will have to adjust to finding dragons and even humans that he doesn’t know appearing in his dragon’s company as he comforts and counsels them through their issues. To Deldowth no worry is too small and no concern is ever trivial. Whether it’s bereavement or simply having said the wrong thing and embarrassing yourself, Deldowth will listen as you unload your emotions to him. The brown wholeheartedly believes in emotional expression; it is very cathartic. If you need to storm up and down his weyr in a rage, do. If you need to cry in between his forepaws, then he will wait here as long as you need to. Iskosian will find absolute and unwavering support from Deldowth, the dragon expressing his love as freely as he does his sadness.
Deldowth is not an inherently brave dragon. He cannot stand violence and even raised voices can sometimes be too much for him. Despite that the brown cannot stand watching others suffer and will solidly place himself between a victim and aggressor if he can. Deldowth would genuinely prefer that he take the abuse rather than another. He’s already sad, but there is no reason another should be. Deldowth hates seeing others upset and will do everything in his power to prevent it.
Mind Voice: (#29251d) Deldowth’s voice comes through in long, deep notes. His voice is slow and thick with the dragons emotions. It hints at the deep, unfathomable, ocean of thoughts and feelings that are held within the dragon’s mind. When interrupted from his contemplation Deldowth’s thoughts will sound as though they are being spoken underwater, the thoughts muffled and harder to understand.
Why me? Iskosian is Deldowth’s strength. In him he finds his drive to keep going, to get up and face the world once again. Meanwhile there is something in Iskosian that Deldowth wishes to draw out. He need not stay away from others so, he is a wonderful person and should speak out more. Deldowth attracts people without meaning to and through him Iskosian will meet people from a variety of different walks with different views and opinions. Deldowth will be counsel for Iskosian, allowing him somewhere to safely air his fears and thoughts without being judged. Iskosian has so much to give the Weyr if only he can learn to speak out. Deldowth is there to be his teacher.
