Sascha was always a fan of a good bargain. As such, he couldn't very well spend the night in New Hemisect City without hitting up the local shops.
While the more identifiable stores were way beyond a lowblooded child's budget, their ornate window displays served to whet Sascha's appetite for fancy outfits. Highbloods could get away with wearing so much bling! Sascha adjusted his position in front of a jewelry store so it looked like his reflection was wearing an elaborate combination of gold chains.
Sascha may not have had the funds for precious metals, but he did have the fortitude to sift through a clearance bin stacked taller than he was. Label-conscious, he was not. New Hemisect was even bigger than Chittentown, so finding a place that catered to someone like him wasn't going to be impossible. Highbloods had to do something with all their old stuff when they ran out of room in their enormous walk-in wardrobeblocks.
Thankfully it didn't take much more walking before Sascha stumbled upon a shop that caught his interest. It was older in a more run-down (and lower-blooded to Bagwormother's relief) part of town. Still, the exterior trimmings were ornate and well-maintained, even if the style was dated. The striped awning wasn't even entirely sun-bleached. More important to Sascha were the racks of clothes and bric-a-brac positioned enticingly outside the door. He was in like a shot.
Sascha lost track of his lusus almost immediately upon entering. Her mismatched shell of found objects blended in a little too well with their surroundings. Hopefully she wouldn't get accused of stealing when they left. However, that wasn't going to be for a while. Sascha was psyched. Everything in this store was vintage and as Sascha knew the word, that meant old, smelly, and super weird. He'd find the statement piece of all statement pieces here.
Almost immediately he set about grabbing random articles of clothing and hauling them to the three-paned mirror at the back of the store.
Derby hat, or feather boa? Or derby hat and feather boa...

New Hemisect had been Elidae's home since she was a wee wriggler, and it still remained her favorite place to shop. Constant military surveillance aside, the city proved to be one of the most diverse and accepting places on Alternia, providing a variety for all blood castes, and tastes. In a lowblooded area near her hivestem, there were many thrift shops that were donated to by high, mid, and low bloods from all over the city. Anyone could find some of the most delightful and interesting items in places such as these. One troll's discarded matter is another troll's valuable asset!
Tonight, Elidae visited the one she frequented most. Its quaint appearance could fool; she's found a lot of cool stuff in here! In one of the bins lying around, the yellowblood sifted through with curiosity, finding a pair of round, bottle-lensed glasses. Squinting into them, she realized they were just a prop. Score! After placing them on her nose, Elidae's eyes grow large and blinking. Giggling, she moved to the shop's three-way mirror. Noticing another troll already already taken place there, she paused, then noticed the items in his hand. ... a derby hat? With that feather boa? Oh, honey, no.
Moving her mouth to the side, the yellowblood glanced around the many shelves and racks for a replacement. On an uncannily realistic mannequin head, she spotted a large, feathered hat. Perfect.
"Try this!" Elidae chirped, (gently) plopping the monstrous accessory onto the boy's head. She then clasped her hands together and gave him a beaming smile. "I think with the boa, it might be a great look on you!"

The sensory overload left Sascha unaware of Elidae's presence. Suddenly, he lost visual with the entire store as his vision was obscured by a large, wide-brimmed hat. "Hggh!" He startled, accidentally inhaling the feathers of the boa. He eventually fought his way out from under the dusty felt head trap.
Sascha was met with the sight of Elidae's sunshiny smile, confusing him slightly. When he realized she was beaming at him, Sascha was no less flustered, but happily caught up with the conversation.
"Y- Y'think..? Yeah... Yeah!" Sascha turned back to the mirror and adjusted the hat so the holes aligned properly over his horns. It was still meant for a much larger troll, but that hardly deterred Sascha from preening like the featherbeasts he was adorned with.
While the hat certainly attracted most of the attention, Sascha couldn't help but notice the rest of his outfit was relatively... practical. He frowned thoughtfully, then turned back to Elidae. He sized her up with a look of deep gravitas. The feathers accessorizing the hat wobbled with the tilting of his head.
"What about... A jacket?" Apparently having found Elidae suitable for his needs, Sascha promptly turned back to the mirror. Arms akimbo, he turned this way and that, scrutinizing his reflection as he awaited the older troll's consultation.
