GLOOM FAMILIAR

He finds you when you’ve lingered in the places he likes to play (everywhere). Who are you? Why are you here? What are you doing? Why are you doing it? Can he help you? He’ll totally help you. If you need help finding a place, he’ll take you where you’re going. If you want to learn tricks, he’ll teach you some of his favorites. If you call for him, he’ll always be there for you.

The shadows are his home and he’ll watch you from them.

It’s not until later, long after you’ve dealt with him, that you realize you might have lost something. Something tangible, maybe something intangible, you don’t know what it was but you always feel as if you’ve lost something after dealing with him.

Even if you’ve gained something in return.

CHICANERY ET SHADOWS

The shadows are it's home, the darkness it's parent, or so this little one will tell you. He could be a pine marten or maybe he is a weasel or perhaps a mink but the shadows cling to him and shroud his form. … He skitters in the shadows, speaks in a sweet, soft voice, and promises you he is always a friend.

He is always your friend.

from america jones: a dollar bill with some terrible pervy flirt's number on it
from algernon mercer (mixlin): torn from his notebook, it has both gloom's name and algernon's name written on it.
from shun kuroda: a day's worth of human self-doubt.
from alexander thorne: one of thorne's night king fawn spots is now gone from him and on gloom under his left eye. this allows him to find thorne should he become lost while shadow scrying.
