SYLLABUS - INTRODUCTION TO MAGICAL SECURITY: THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS

This class covers the basics of magical security and protective measures, including wards, shields, and cages. In the first half of the course, we will learn about the origins of protective magic and key breakthroughs in the field, as well as the theory behind the most common spell types. In the second half, we will learn about the industrial and personal applications of protective magic, including its use on the digital frontier.
This course does not include instruction on the casting of protective spells.
This class satisfies the magical studies gen. ed requirement and can also be used as a pre-requisite towards intermediate-level courses in the magi-technological studies department.
