Sighing, he conceded to asking her for the list. He might as well see if there were any close by. Fine. Send me the list. Ever the conversationalist, he sent his elaborate and eloquently worded text, before looking back up. He'd been trying to catch any new letters that showed up (or symbols, as a few had been) but it seemed they pretty much extended the alphabet, and he wasn't exactly missing very many. Or at least, eh was pretty sure he wasn't. He pulled up his pokedex to be sure, and when he confirmed how close he was, his completionist pull tugged at him to stick around and try and get the rest. At the same time, he wasn't sure how long his incense would last, he'd already battled so many, and there wasn't a lot more training he could do once he got his pokemon to a certain point....

The degree to which that was true was proven shortly thereafter, as Trumbeak suddenly began to glow after his most recent victory. Adder initially widened his eyes in surprise, but quickly threw an arm up to block them from the source of light. It was... really bright in comparison to all the dark that had been surrounding them previously... He actually had to close his eyes for a moment, and when he opened them, it was hard to see. But he knew what had just happened. Trumbeak... had evolved. Which means, if he remembered right, he might have just learned the move that would help him win the next gym battle...

Once the spotty vision died down a bit, Adder lowered his arm, blinking rapidly to try and adjust his vision. It was still pretty hard to make out, but yeah, it seemed Trumbeak had evolved. Adder pulled out his pokedex to check, sighing faintly in relief when he noticed it had learned a new move upon evolving. Beak Blast. It was a pretty damn impressive move, and he hoped he'd be able to take advantage of it's burn abilities. For now, though, he should consider switching pokemon. It wouldn't hurt to get him a little stronger, and then, well... maybe then he'd let popplio train some.... for a little bit. Or, maybe he'd just go with Pengyou.

Watching his pokemon, Adder decided to go ahead and switch things up. He let Toucannon finish his battle, before calling him over. "Pengyou, you're going to go ahead and take over, alright?" he urged. The cat jumped, looking up at him, then at the bird that now towered over him. It had been bad enough watching the damn thing evolve, but up close.... The cat was visibly shaking, but either Adder ignored it, or didn't notice. "Just take the Muscle Band and use Bite," the tween instructed, folding his arms. Toucannon extended a leg, sharp talons holding the item up, but Pengyou hesitated to move forward. There was a dark gleam in the bird's eye... he wasn't really sure he wanted to risk getting close....

Adder stiffened a yawn, but blinked when his messenger went off. Finally, Kaiya was getting the list to him... He pulled it open, reading it over, and raising his eyebrows a bit to find one was actually somewhere in his next location. Veilstone. He had a feeling the eggs were marked for each location, so there probably wouldn't be much point in searching for more than one, but at least he could look while he prepped for the gym, and after. Maybe he could learn more about the event while he was there, actually...
[NOTE: ONE wild pokemon is being summoned by Adder's sweet incense. THE OTHER is being encountered through the use of wild pokemon encounter posts ]

With his incense fading, Adder chased Pengyou into the cave a bit more, working to catch a few more unown as he did. That seemed to actually be the last of them, which was good timing. He shook the incense a bit, before making sure it was out, and tossing the remaining bit aside. He turned, gathering his pokemon, and recalling all but Lady as he made his way to the entrance. Guess he wouldn't need that adult coming to check on him anyway.... and he would probably be okay without the extra training, anyway. Or, hell, maybe he'd cross paths with them in the town, before he moved on. He definitely needed to heal his pokemon...

Suicune felt Gekkit's paws pressing into his neck as the little fox pushed himself up. He could imagine the wide eyes, the twitching nose, as it watched its counterpart Luna. Suicune was pleased by this, and by being able to tout around that he had found his own gekkit to Scarlett.
He continued to follow her, giving her a blend of his powerful "who, me?" look mixed with a blank stare when she accused him of helping. He gave the wind his unown followers floated on a brief bump so their movement suddenly increased, just to taunt her. He wasn't doing anything, of course, that's not how he worked. But she didn't know that.
After Scarlett left, Suicune led his family back to Arezu, who appeared to be looking for him. He smelled an interesting scent on her, one that reminded him of the forest. So, she had found what she was looking for. Suicune wasn't sure how he felt about that; he didn't like any of his family to suffer. But he wouldn't stop her.
"Glad you came back. It's time to leave."
Arezu turned to leave, but before she returned her pokemon Suicune noticed she looked at him oddly. It had something to do with the other pokemon, for her eyes flicked to the two in his mane. But the look was not cold, though maybe troubled. Puzzled, it was the last thing he saw before he was returned to his pokeball.
Well, I f-ed up... I uh, guess rainbow butt and will hstupid-face will have to meet again. If I can motivate myself to post enough, I might actually get to the point where he gets a human guise. Or not, I'm so awful lol

After hitching another ride from her pager, Scarlett landed shortly just outside of the Solaceon Ruins, and found that unsurprisingly, the entrance was still sealed up. It was entirely possible that the unown within simply sensed her presence and redirected their psychic energy to re-creating the wall as it had been when she last saw it. The difference was now she had the right tools for the job. "Alright ya little ********... Normally I have reservations about disturbin' ancient archeological sites, but yer really not leavin' me much of a choice." She commented, sending out her colorful easter exeggcute. Each one had their own punchy little nickname. Tick was the red one, Tock was the green, Short-fuse was the angry yellow one that hid in the back of the group with a permanent scowl, Bomber was the big blue one in the center and the self proclaimed leader, and Splode was the purple one who seemed to be the runt of the group and none too bright. Collectively, Scarlett referred to them as the "bomb squad", and for good reason. "Alright boys, I've got a job for ya."Wazzat boss? Bomber spoke up telepathically with a confident smirk. "Take a look and guess." Scarlett gestured to the formidable psychic wall behind them. Aaaahhhh.... Lesse what we got here... Bomber and the boys hopped close, observing the work of the wall. Dat's some pretty 'tick psych grade blockage baws! Tock's squawky and nasaly voice spoke up observantly. Ey! You talkin' to me?! You wanna say somethin' ya say it to my face! Tick piped up, hearing his name, and Tock rolled his eyes. I ain't talkin' to yas Tick, I was sayin' the wall is 'tick! Gonna be hard to break tru, ya know? Tick blinked, and it took some time, but the misunderstanding from their own thick accents finally sank in. Ooooh.... Sorry Tock. We're cool ain't we?Yeh. Fuggetaboutit. Scarlett rubbed her head and grimaced. Their antics could be amusing at times, but now was not one of them. "So can ya do it or not?!" Scarlett barked, reminding them of the job. Outta my way, ya buncha bozos! It seemed short-fuse had enough himself, and true to his name, threw himself at the psychic wall and blew a hole in it with an explosive blast. Atta boy! Bomber encouraged, hopping over to his brother as he quickly shook off the daze of his egg bomb, but Scarlett quickly began made her way inside, not giving the hole long enough to reform while the bomb squad talked things out. "Move it eggheads." Scarlett ushered as she ducked in.

Honestly, MD still had no clue exactly where to go to deal with his issues and in the moment as he flew through the skies, he actually didn’t care. At least not in that moment. There was something free feeling about just flying and not thinking about the potential dangers and issues that would result from confronting a pissed off legendary that he neither wanted to capture nor wanted to deal with. Still though, there was the nagging fact in the back of his mind that the ring on his arm and the Hoopa were linked in some way.
Did it belong to the Hoopa? Was that why it was so enraged to see him with it? It’d made some remarks about him being a ‘thief’ for having it, but the Hoopa had appeared to already possess hoops, though how many they had by nature, he had no clue about. What he did know is that… the ability to summon deadly legends was one of their qualities. Which is why, seclusion was a big deal. A really big deal.
Now where? He didn’t know. Hell, it was Sinnoh, why was even still in this region? It wasn’t exactly his cup of tea. Maybe he ought to head back to Unova if he wanted to keep up his hunt for clues. Or at least to hang around Nimbasa’s arcade… he was missing them. Of course, his thoughts were interrupted by a sudden wave of force like… an explosion? Was that an explosion? Realistically, something like that shouldn’t have been considered out of the ordinary (how many pokemon just blew up by nature?) but a quick glance below made MD question that logic. There appeared to be a set of ruins down below, and he didn’t see signs of smoke or battle. Huh, how… odd. He gave the Pidgeot a little nudge to land and hopped off just outside the entrance of the ruins.
Everything looked… normal. So, what was that strange energy he’d felt? MD took a moment to tug out his pokedex, looking up the map and taking a moment to find some information. Solaceon Ruins… a beacon of psychic energy and Unown.
"Huh…," MD muttered, considering a moment. This might… just be the place he needed to visit to piece some clues together. Or at least, prep before he did; ruins were probably secluded by nature, save for the crazy fossil lunatic or two, right? But still, not a major problem. Tucking the device away he strolled towards the entrance and squinted against the dimness. Maybe he needed a flashlight… nah he’d survive. He took a few steps further in, noting that there seemed to be crazy pictographs etched on the walls.
Weird.
With his focus on everything but what was in front of him, it was no real surprise when he found himself running into something or… someone. He gave a little grunt and immediately stepped back, hands going up defensively as an apologetic look crossed his face. "’Scuse me! Wasn’t watching where I was walking," he remarked. Well, so much for secluded and abandoned; his luck to have crappy judgement like that.

As Scarlett ventured inside the ruins, it became dark very quickly, and this time the unown seemed to have been sure not to leave her a torch, or at least they didn't let her see one. "Kmph. Fine." She returned the bomb squad for now, calling Luna in their place to let the red rune-like features on her skin glow faintly to light the way. She was the only pokemon Scarlett had that naturally emitted any sort of light. Luna growled lightly, recognizing the area. "I know, I know. Those bastards are here, jus' keep an eye out, an' make sure we stick together. Ya're my only light source right neu." Luna nodded in agreement, but as they made their way deeper into the ruins, Scarlett felt something push her from behind and she stumbled forwards with an "Oof!" before she spun around. She was fully expecting some kind of prank from the unown, however; it was just some traveler who was now apologizing profusely for running into her.
Many emotions coursed through Scarlett, part of her wondering why some idiot decided to traverse the ruins blind, but the other part of her noticing in the dim lighting how handsome this idiot was. Brushing herself off and straightening up, the latter part of her collided with the first and formed a compromise, excusing his stupidity--for now. "Well, it's kind of hard to watch where ya-- ...You're going if you can't see." Scarlett suggested, catching herself before she slipped into accent. "Don't tell me you don't have a light source?" She asked curiously, sarcasm threatening to slip in her tone. What was this, the third time she had to tell some spelunking wannabe how to properly traverse ruins? Then again, she'd just bombed the entrance, but she didn't have much of a choice with the unown propelling her back with psychic energy. "Well... I suppose I could share mine, if you're willing to deal with what's ahead; an angry swarm of tiny psychic alphabet letters." Scarlett explained. She figured it was only fair she warn him what he was getting into if he stuck with her.

MD lowered his hands a bit as the individual -a pretty, young woman- seemed to forgive him for bumbling through the dark and bumping into her. He quirked an eyebrow as she spoke -was that a hint of an accent that’d suddenly been smothered- but temporarily ignored it, dropping his hands back down fully to his sides.
"Fair enough, you make a solid argument," he joked with a solid nod. "Though I’ll admit, I figured a place like this would have some better lighting, no? For the archeologists and… rune… people," because he was a master of words and names like that. He peered past her a bit at the odd glowing runic symbols from the pokemon next to her, falling quiet a moment as he seemed to try and decipher what it was.
"Oh?" MD redirected his glance to the woman, thinking a moment about that question. Did he have a light source? He supposed if something ‘kind of glowing’ was working for her than he could muster up something. He rubbed at his chin a moment before finally snapping his fingers in an ‘Aha!’ kind of way. "Well normally I’d just conjure up some magical flames but…," he reached down and snatched up a pokeball, unleashing the little golden Charmander that was Chromie, who seemed rather surprised to be out in the dark, looking about curiously. "This’ll probably work just fine!" Chromie’s tail was the equivalent of a small torch so… that’d work for him and to indicate as much, gave the little lizard a pat on the head.
"An angry… alphabet swarm?" MD remarked, looking a little… baffled at the explanation. He had an image of a tornado of alphabet soup but he was certain that was not what this woman was speaking about; or rather hoped that wasn’t what she was talking about. Better yet, who willingly walked into that kind of thing? He rubbed his chin again, eyebrow quirking. "That sounds like a bad magic trick, and I know a thing or two about that…" he took a step or two forward, glancing down one of the passages before looking back at Scarlett. "Are they usually angry? You’re not trying to confront them if that’s the case, are ya?" He inquired, primarily out of curiosity. Maybe this place wasn’t as calm as he thought it would be.

MD had a point, normally this place did have lighting at the entrance. In fact it had torches that lit up the main hallway from here down about a good fifty feet from what she recalled of her first trip here. She'd been using one of those torches to help light her way, and that was probably why they weren't here anymore. Or at least, why she couldn't see them. "Runologists." She corrected flatly, as if this was common knowledge–it wasn't, but Scarlett could be snippy about her trade and educating people who didn't know. "It did at one point, until one of those 'rune people' pissed off the unown here. Now they're hiding the torches and making it as difficult as possible to get in. I'm surprised you got in actually, the entrance was sealed shut with psychic energy when I arrived." Then again, she probably shouldn't have been surprised, the unown were probably just trying to keep her out and not caring about anyone else. She should probably feel honored. Probably. She gave a wry smile before questioning his lack of light source. Of course, after giving it some thought, he suggested conjuring some magical flames, which Scarlett would have assumed to be sarcasm except the man seemed completely serious, which made Scarlett give him a questioning look. However, instead of conjuring flames, he sent out a golden charmander, and Scarlett couldn't help but wonder why he hadn't been using her the moment he found out it was too dark to see in here. Just who the hell was this guy?
He questioned the alphabet swarm she'd spoken of, relating it to a bad magic trick. "Oh, so you were serious about conjuring magic fire?" She laughed. "Are you a magician or something?" She was tempted to call him 'magic person' to mock his talent in names, but decided against it. If he really was a magician, she was curious to see how good he was. Close up acts were fun for her to watch and try to figure out how the "magic" had happened. Usually psychics were just showcasing their ability to do short range teleportation without making it look like they were using their powers, or people were using slight of hand. Scarlett preferred the latter, it was more fun that way.
Scarlett paused for a moment though as a thought crossed her mind. "How.... Did you say you got in here again?" She asked slowly, approaching MD and smoothly placing her hand on his shoulder. It was the most casual form of contact she could think of at the moment, but she had to touch him to try and make sure he wasn't some psychic construct. The unown had done that sort of s**t to her before, creating images of people to talk and interact with her. She was gonna be hella pissed off if they were doing it again now. Thankfully he didn't seem to be fake. In fact, his shoulders felt quite sturdy, decently muscular, and both of his arms were covered in a series of complex tattoos. Scarlett blinked, refocusing from her brief distraction as MD questioned her about the unown. "Mm... I don't think they're typically hostile. They just don't like me, but I'd be confronting them regardless." She smirked and gave him a light pat. "If you don't think that's something you can handle, then you'd better get out of here while you still can~ I'd hate to see a handsome guy like you get hurt." Her tone teased him, but she was completely serious. Already she could feel that she was being watched. Somehow, somewhere, the unown were waiting for something.
Luna gave a light growl, sensing the unown presence growing stronger, and Scarlett stroked her fur reassuringly. "You rest. I know that battle with Fantina wore you out. We'll let Aegis take care of this, yeah?" She suggested, taking the aegislash's pokeball and sending him out. Sure enough, the first of the unown began flying in, starting right from the begining of the alphabet. Aegis, knowing the drill by now, whizzed forward and struck the unown down immediately. "They aren't so tough by themselves, but you have to keep their numbers down. If they group up, then.... Well.... Things get weird, to put it lightly." She advised, recalling her trip to the distortion world with Riley with a grimace.

MD mulled over the information; so, there were supposed to be torches. Well it was good to know someone, somewhere was watching out for the intrepid young spelunkers of the world who (just like him) might’ve decided they could wander this place blindly. He cocked an eyebrow as she remarked that the appropriate name was ‘runologists’, noting the snippiness. "I apologize. I’m not really ‘privy’ on the hip names nowadays," he remarked with an honest if not semi-joking tone. Honestly Interpol had had the same darn issue with everyone and their mother having some sort of fancy title despite preforming basic jobs. How many names did you need for ‘reads rock writing’? Not that he was going to voice that; that was a bit rude and he wasn’t really one to question profession names. Usually.
"Oh really? How’d they manage that?" He mused. Pissing off psychic pokemon? As if that wasn’t something he hadn’t done hours ago ever in his life. It was ironic and amusing though to encounter a similar situation so soon. Did he want to be part of it? Well… if it wasn’t his problem. Yet. That remark about the entrance and psychic energy though enlightened him some on what he’d felt earlier; so that explosion had probably been… expulsion of energy? Still though, that was kind of odd and he had to question rather seriously who could mess up so bad that pokemon would go through such methods to seal an individual out.
He gave a sly grin at her remark to his magic trick comments, not at all put off by the laugh or the questioning manner that followed. Instead he held up a hand and with a simple flick of his wrist, the box with the deck of cards that he kept on hand for both practice and fidgeting when his nerves were all over the place appearing. "You caught me," he smirked before flicking his wrist again resulting in the card box disappearing and leaving just the card deck. He gave it an exaggerated shuffle, still eyeing the woman curiously as she approached, placing a hand on his shoulder. "… I walked in. How about you?" He didn’t miss the subtle truth of the action and noticed the brief moment of distraction and met it with a tilt of his head. "Ah, did I get some sauce on my shirt?" He joked, chuckling a little as she came back to attention. He was beginning to figure ‘who’ the ‘runologist’ was that had agitated the Unown in the first place.
He gave a solid laugh at her warning; he caught the hints of seriousness behind the teasing but couldn’t help but giving a bit of a smug smile. Less so because he doubted her warnings or that they were unappreciated; it was just rather… funny. "Mmm I don’t know, I think I’ll manage," he grinned, absently beginning to shuffle the cards again. "I had a lovely showdown with some legendaries earlier… what’s a bit of alphabet soup compared to that?" He said, though his attention did shift as her pokemon went on the alert. Chromie gave a little chirp and clung to his leg and he gave her a head pat to comfort her. He straightened up immediately though as an Aegislash took down an Unown who’d zoomed out of nowhere, giving an impressed whistle. Well now, she was not joking.
"Oh yeah? What, they gonna shuffle me off to an alternate dimension?" Because he’d been through that too! Boy… recalling all these things were reminding him of how much oddities were occurring around him. Maybe it was a sign…?

Scarlett scoffed in amusement as MD apologized for not knowing the "hip" names of job titles. "Well now you do." She suggested neutrally. It was more annoying that this was the second person she'd met coming in here willy nilly and not knowing what they were doing. That's what she hated about allowing tourists into archeological sites, given the damage they could potentially do without realizing it. "Sticking their nose into places they shouldn't--for the sake of discovery and science of course." She flashed a smug grin his way, not even trying to hide the fact that she was the troublemaker. Her smile quickly fell again however, growing more serious. "Unown usually serve as 'guardians' of a sort, so they don't like it when you disturb the artifacts they're protecting, no matter what your intentions may be." She explained. If he was going to stick around then she may as well educate him so that he didn't go doing anything stupid.
Scarlett watched with amusement as MD made a deck of cards appear out of thin air, unpacking them in the blink of an eye, and then shuffling them loudly to make his point. Scarlett laughed and gave a few quiet claps. "Very nice. What other tricks do you have up your sleeve? I'd suggest a buneary out of your hat, but you don't have one." She tsked in fake disappointment, sidling up next to him to check for authenticity, in more ways than one. "I found a way in, same as you." She suggested lightly, chuckling as he questioned if she'd found any sauce on his shirt. "I thought I smelled a mystery meat, but no, you don't have any sauce on you." She chuckled, stepping away to return his personal space. Scarlett did quirk a curious brow as he laughed off her warning in a good natured manner and insisted he'd manage since he'd fought off some legends earlier. That certainly piqued her interest. "Oh really?" It seemed she wasn't the only one messing with powerful beings. "Look at you, stirring up trouble~ Alright so spill, which legend's s**t lists are you on, and why?" She asked with a laugh, though she took note of a wondering unown--likely a scout--coming towards them, and quickly had Aegis take care of it.
Scarlett glanced at MD with a smirk as he whistled, but he hadn't seen anything yet. She felt the need to explain why she was so quick to cut them down at least, though when MD jokingly (but not really) suggested that they might shuffle him to an alternate dimension, Scarlett gave a bitter laugh. "Yes, actually." She said seriously. "Caught myself a ticket straight to the distortion world thanks to those buggers, and that's why I'm not keen on letting them group up en mass like that again. I don't think that giratina will be so lenient next time." She smirked, watching as Aegis took care of another two unown just as quickly as the first.

MD just smirked at the retort, still shuffling the cards between his hands, casually walking a few steps and glancing around the ruins. "Oh yeah? For science, huh?" He tilted his head a bit to the side, cheek resting against his shoulder. "I use to say that about magic tricks; but then eventually you learn magic and science just don’t mix so… better to peeve off the sci-wise guys. It’s funny," he joked, with a flick of his wrist. Which was probably, why amongst the smarter of his peers, he wasn’t exactly liked.
"Oooh… I see," guardian pokemon. Well that made double more sense why they were all agitated. He chuckled a bit, giving her a little wink. "Well I use to, but he’s gone and evolved and just doesn’t fit in a hat anymore." Which reminded him that he needed to take time to address both Dresden and Sissil’s new evolutions. His eyebrows raised at the comment, chuckling again, "Well it was a sloppy joe so… sounds about right."
"Oh you know, the usual small fry. Regigigas, this weird green horned sheep thing... a Rayquaza. That was there... a Darkrai too! You know, getting those nightmares on. Something with hoops... nothing fancy." He flared a hand through the air nonchalantly, a look on his face that indicated that he clearly didn't take the names he was listing off seriously. Which was fatefully stupid on his part; but that was okay because internally, he was still very much shaken by the encounter. Not enough to show it though; at least not to some random stranger he'd just met, no matter how pleasant they seemed. He smirked, glancing at Scarlett curiously, "how about you?"
Of course, the change of tone caught him off guard and MD found a look of surprise taking over his features as scarlet explained that she'd been to the Distortion world. Really? Really? He stopped shuffling his cards a moment, giving only a glance as the Unown numbers doubled from their last assault, before quirking an eyebrow. "Well now... small world," he remarked absently. "Strange place ain't it? All topsy-turvey and sideways... that Giratina has an excellent eye... eyes? Eye for illusions, any magician would be envious," because it was wise to joke about the equivalent of hell which allowed you to walk on walls and float through space and lose your lunch because of all the distortion going on. He felt a shiver run down his spine as he was reminded. "But that's a smart idea, so what'd you steal from them? Or try rather?" He teased humorously, though seemed to be studying her just in case. Obviously, pokemon weren't just angry and defensive like this by nature.
And he kind of wanted to know... well, what was up.
