Adder watched the Celesteela frown, still a little uncomfortable with how okay the guy seemed to be with letting his pokemon get taken out. He really did feel like he was being babied here... like the guy was just letting him use his pokemon to train, without bothering to try -- like he wouldn't notice -- so he could look out for him. Adder raised his shoulders and looked off to the side. That feeling was only amplified when the guy sent out a venusaur next. "Are you trying to do this!?" Adder muttered, irked, "Pluck, Trumbeak!" Seriously, he.... it was a flying type!

"However, if you insist.... this one does not have an obvious weakness." Adder frowned, watching, but blinked when the man released a rather adorable pokemon, a dratini. "Oh..." He paused, then pulled out his pokedex out. He kinda.... wanted one of those now.... But he was still going to have Trumbeak defeat it, of course.

Adder put his pokedex away after scanning the pokemon, looking at the dratini curiously as it fainted. "How long does it take to evolve one of those?" he asked curiously. The man eyed him as he put the pokeball away, and drew out his last pokemon. ".... Quite a while. Dragons are often difficult to train and take a lot of effort to evolve. Especially ones like Dratini, which has to evolve twice before reaching its final form," he answered. Adder frowned a bit. "Oh..." Yeah, he kinda knew some of that. Maybe he should start training some dragons, though, then.... or seeing where he could catch their evolutions. He didn't have time to evolve a ton of pokemon that took that much effort...

The man tucked away his final pokemon with a sigh. "Alright, kid, I'd say that you can probably hold your own here for a while. I gotta go heal my pokemon, but I'll send someone else to come check on you and help you train, alright?" the man decided. Adder bristled. "I don't... I don't need checking up on," he muttered irritably. He paused a moment, then added, "But.... but the training thing, yeah," in an undertone. Hopefully the guy heard, though. He still wanted to get his pokemon a bit stronger before he left, and the incense still seemed to have some time before it would go out. Maybe he could even train Popplio a bit, much as he wasn't looking forward to it.

Watching the guy leave, Adder turned to focus on Dartrix, who seemed to be doing fine with the pokemon he was battling. Come to think of it, though... Trumbeak had been doing a good amount of damage on the pokemon he'd been battling, too... and he also needed the training. Sending him out again, he decided to have the two switch off, so that he could try and get them both up to level. If he needed, though, he could use the rare candies he had.... he'd just rather save those in case he wasn't really able to train up Popplio. Not that he was completely sure he wanted to use them on her, either.... she might think it was a nice thing or something.

With two pokemon capable of quickly taking out the ones around, Adder decided it might be worth risking attracting more. If they became too much, well... he had plenty more pokemon. And the exit wasn't that far away. And he had an adult coming to check on him-- not that he needed an adult, and not that he needed checking up on. With that decided, he leaned over, and blue on the incense, inciting the embers to burn, before lifting it up, and waving it through the air. Hopefully that would help magnify the smell some...

Adder was distracted from trying to spread the incense's influence (which seemed to be working, albeit mildly) when his messenger went off. He was distracted from that when he noticed a pokeball on the ground. Huh.... one of them must not have gone directly to the PC. He reached down, picking it up and looking it over. It definitely had a pokemon in it..... but which one? He'd got a lot. It felt like he'd caught the whole darn alphabet, but, unfortunately, he knew that wasn't the case. He might check his pokedex to see how close he was, though. Even so... it was kinda odd that one had slipped through the cracks and didn't go to the PC. Had it just been a fluke...?

Adder glanced over when another that he hadn't caught before showed up, and tossed a pokeball. That one (on the second try....) actually went to the PC once he'd caught it. He still didn't understand how those things escaped after fainting... but whatever. He frowned a bit and looked back down at the pokeball in his hand. So, if that one had sent, why hadn't this one? Maybe it was just... out of range? Or maybe the pokemon inside had somehow influenced it.... they were psychics after all.

Adder didn't get much of a chance to gripe over his pokemon's inability to learn moves, or to consider just sending it to the PC. His messenger went off and he sighed, pulling it out with a wary expression. Lots of stuff, I think. Like, pokeballs, special ones, and rare items, and megastones and incense and stuff. He eyed the unusually calm message and gave it a few minutes. Normally she would tack on something to irk or fluster him, or show an absurd amount of energy, but.... huh, nothing. Adder decided not to respond at first, and put his messenger away. It occurred to him, though, that he still didn't know where the eggs were, and that she'd offered to send him a list. Honestly, he half wasn't sure whether to even believe this, but... it seemed like a pretty stupid lie. Kaiya had a history of messing with him and stuff, but it was usually to spend more time with him, not to send him on a wild goosehunt or straight up lie to him. If anything, she was probably hoping to run into him/follow him/find him, so as long as he found the eggs quickly and made sure the area was clear before going in... he should be safe. Transportation was going to be a pain if they were all across the regions, though...
