Fishing


Fishing is a crucial part of catching and encountering most aquatic pokemon in the pokemon world. As such, trainers will obtain fishing rods of varying strengths as they progress through their badges or ribbons to fish for these pokemon. The following are all the types of rods a trainer is eligible to receive and how to obtain them:

To Obtain: Available to claim after beating a first badge gym leader in any region or obtaining your first beginner ribbon in any contest category.

To Obtain: Available to claim after beating a third badge gym leader in any region or obtaining your first tre ribbon in any contest category.

To Obtain: Available to claim after beating a fifth badge gym leader in any region or beating your first contest leader in any contest category.

You may also obtain the fishing rods via any RP method you choose, such as going to a fishing guru or buying a rod at a shop, you do not have to RP getting them from a gym leader or contest hall. To fish, your character must be near a body of water. Please keep in mind that fishing uses up pokemon encounter posts, which vary depending on what area you're fishing in. The same applies to surfing. The fishing and surfing list for this region is as follows:

Surfing:

Roll a d10 to determine what pokemon you encounter, then use the level generator of the area your character is in to determine it's level.

1= Shellos (West Sea Pink)
2= Shellos (East Sea Blue)
3= Gastrodon (West Sea Pink)
4= Gastrodon (East Sea Blue)
5= Tentacool
6= Tentacruel
7= Wingull
8= Pelipper
9= Mantyke
10= Buizel

Old Rod:

Only Magikarp are obtainable by fishing with an old rod, use the level generator of the area your character is fishing in to determine it's level.

Good Rod:

Generate a number between 1 and 5 to determine what pokemon you encounter, then use the level generator of the area your character is in to determine it's level.

1= Magikarp
2= Finneon
3= Buizel
4= Tentacool
5= Goldeen

Super Rod:

Generate a number between 1 and 6 to determine what pokemon you encounter, then use the level generator of the area your character is in to determine it's level.

1= Shellder
2= Gyarados
3= Lumineon
4= Floatzel
5= Buizel
6= Finneon
