Shortly after teleporting away, Ginseng returned with a small furred creature in her arms. "Master." She called, sounding abnormally concerned. Her tone caught Lakshmi off guard, and instead of scolding her for earlier, he turned his attention to the creature in her arms. Whatever it was, it seemed wounded, quite badly, in fact. "Give it here." Lakshmi motioned, letting Chamomile out of his pokeball. "I tracked the chimchar into the nearby lake, but I was too late. This pokemon was most certainly attacked by it." She explained. "I can see that... Curses. I'd hoped to avoid this. What of Osma?""Osma?" Despite the distain in her voice, it seemed she genuinely didn't know that the Lucario had followed after her. "He chased after you once you left. Did you not see him at the lake?" Lakshmi explained as he directed Chamomile to give some healing tea to the wounded pokemon. The ryuushu seemed to be healing and stabilizing thankfully, and Lakshmi looked relieved.
"He tried to follow me? What an idiot." Ginseng snapped, scanning the area. "Hah.... And so the politoad dared the vulpix to jump into his lake, yet felt surprised and guilty when she did, even though they both knew she could not swim. You goaded him Gin. What did you expect to happen?" Lakshmi sighed and rubbed his forehead. "...Wait, did you just compare me to a politoad?" It seemed she completely missed the point of the sermon. "You would be lucky to be reborn as a poliwag in your next life! Even being reborn as a mere dunsparce would be too forgiving! May Arceus have mercy on your soul, you impudent psychic! If Osma is attacked and injured because of your accursed pride, so help me—!" Lakshmi spat, quite fed up with his pokemon. Ginseng looked bewildered after invoking the wrath of her master, but after the initial shock had ebbed away, she was left feeling remorseful. "I.... You're right. I was out of line. I apologize, sincerely this time. I shall find Osma and make sure he is okay." She agreed quietly. "See to it that you do." Lakshmi dismissed curtly, sensing her disappear shortly after. They both knew that she hadn't intended for the Lucario to get himself hurt. They were supposed to be working together on this and they just kept tearing each other apart, and seemingly for no reason. That was why Lakshmi had no patience with their rivalry.

Lakshmi took a deep breath once Ginseng had left. Perhaps Osma was right in that she had a knack for upsetting people. However, that did not excuse his temper flare. However, given the situation and danger that they were in, he had expected his pokemon to act with a little more... Maturity, and clearly some sense needed to be verbally knocked into them. This was a time sensitive matter and they didn't have the luxury of bickering amongst themselves. "Arceus, please give me the strength and patience that I need to keep my pokemon focused on the task at hand. Dialga, please ensure a swift end to this chimchar's tyrade, and Palkia guide our path so that we may quickly find him before he harms another. If any pokemon should pass on to the spirit realm because of our failure, may giratina guide their souls to Arceus' loving embrace. Om ah hum soha… Om ah hum soha…" Lakshmi fervently chanted the mantra as he kneeled down and focused on the latest unfortunate victim of the rampaging chimchar.
At least it had been healed and stabilized. It even seemed to be stirring and waking up. Lakshmi put a hand on its soft fur to pet it reassuringly, curiously feeling some of the scales underneath. What an interesting pokemon, and it smelled faintly of incense too, but it seemed young, just a small pup. Slowly, it's eyes blinked open and seemed to panic at first. "Be at ease, little one. You are safe now." Lakshmi insisted. Once the pup had calmed, he removed his hand so that it could get up. With a happy yip, it's tail fan opened and fluttered, spreading the soothing scent of incense around them. Lakshmi smiled, glad to see that the ryuushu seemed to have made a full recovery. "Very good." Lakshmi nodded, standing up.
He supposed he should also try to find Osma and Ginseng as well, to ensure that they were focused on the task at hand rather than their petty rivalry. However, as he moved towards the lake, he noticed that the ryuushu was following him. "Go on. You are free now." Lakshmi insisted with a smile, but the dragon simply cocked its head and continued to stay by his side, as though curious about him. Well, if the pup wanted to follow him around, Lakshmi had no issues with it, so long as that was what it chose to do.

Lakshmi returned Chamomile to his pokeball for now. After giving up some of his water to help heal the Ryuushu, it would need to be refilled soon. Thankfully Lakshmi's next destination was the lake nearby, so they could refill then. In the meantime, he needed to try finding his two lost disciples. "Hopefully my pokemon won't influence you to be quite so petty, Macha." Lakshmi glanced down at the little pup, testing out their new nickname. Macha had a nice ring to it, complimenting the ryuushu's seafoam colored coat.
As they walked, Lakshmi noticed a terrariderm nearby, and furrowing their brow, they approached the small potted elephant. "Chamomile, I thought I put you in your pokeball. You need to stay inside until we get to the lake or you'll dehydrate yourself." Lakshmi scolded gently, but as he approached, the small terrariderm seemed to grow frightened, and upon closer inspection, the plants within its terrarium were different than Chamomile's. "Oh! You aren't Chamomile..." Lakshmi frowned, squatting down and taking a closer look. What was this terrariderm doing here all by itself? Lakshmi slowly picked the little elephant up. "No need to be afraid. Let us see if we can find your herd." Lakshmi insisted gently. The terrariderm looked at him dubiously, unsure for now, but it wouldn't dare jump out of their arms from this height unless it truly felt like it was in danger.

The fact that neither Ginseng nor Osma had returned yet was getting quite worrisome. Either they were hurt and in trouble, or they were once again arguing with one another instead of solving the problem at hand. Lakshmi really didn't want to deal with another of their petty squabbles, but if they were in any real danger, then he needed to hurry and find them. The town and forest path that led to the lake were so much bigger than he had initially anticipated. Well... He'd also been preoccupied with the pokemon he kept finding. Looking down at the terrariderm in their arms, Lakshmi smiled as he noticed that it seemed to have relaxed a little. "You have some pretty tropical plants in your terrarium... Why don't I call you Yerba Matte? That seems fitting." He would have to find some seeds to give them later. Something tropical to match their terrarium's aesthetic.
"Do you need some water as well? We're heading to the lake. Perhaps we will find your herd there." Perhaps silence was golden, but Lakshmi hoped that talking to the little elephant would help calm it's nerves, if only a little. He'd been told that he had a soothing voice, and it seemed to be working. If nothing else, he was at least providing some carbon dioxide to help the plants inside the terrarium grow.

There were many different pokemon out, and with so many auras, it was hard to get a good read, but for the most part he felt contentment and small traces of unease. Perhaps it was smart enough to know that 15 or so pokemon against one wouldn't end well, but it was clearly targeting the camp. Perhaps for the food? "Gin.... I found it... Just over there beyond those trees. Do you think you could teleport there and surprise it?" Osma asked, and the medicham nodded. "That's well within my range." Even when she was being serious, she still sounded like she was flaunting her abilities, and Osma couldn't help but roll his eyes, but for the sake of getting this taken care of, he didn't take her bait. In a flash, Ginseng teleported to the other side of the forest and grabbed the chimchar. "Gotcha, you little imp!" Ginseng growled, holding the chimchar down, and Osma quickly dashed in her direction, a streaking blue blur past Zoey's camp of pokemon as he ran over to Ginseng's side. "CHIIII!" The feral chimchar snarled and struggled within Ginseng's grasp, it's dark aura flaring to life in rage. "Gah!" Despite it's small size, the chimchar was quite strong, and since Ginseng hadn't encountered the monkey before, she was caught off guard as it nearly broke free. "No!" Osma grabbed ahold of the chimchar as well, just as it let out a wave of shadowy aura at both of them, propelling them back and dashing away into the forest once again. As Lakshmi finally reached Lake Verity, he heard the noise of a struggle, and the chimchar's cries. Quickly, he ran towards the sound, praying that he was not too late.

In retrospect suspension of disbelief should have kicked in when Vita tried to fight a legendary. Not because Vita wouldn't but more because the chances of running into a legendary were about as good as the chance of Terrence being real But I wanted him to be. Trey couldn't really figure out where the stab of sadness at this thought had come from. It had been just a dream. It shouldn't affect him like this to wake up. Even if the thought of someone traveling with him as opposed to him traveling by himself had brought him some sort of comfort he hadn't realized he had wanted. Terrence huffed, as he finally managed to make his way back here. He placed his hands on his knees, as he tried to catch his breath. Even though he had taken a break in the last town, he had moved way faster to get here then he should have. Panting, he wiped the sweat off his face before looking up. This town was pretty small, since it was usually where beginning trainers started at. If that boy was anywhere, he'd probably be here. He just hoped that he'd been able to get her in time before he left the area. Surely if he had they would have bumped into each other sooner right? It would only make sense. However, if the boy had decided to go to another region then Terrence would be screwed.
Taking a soft breath he collected himself before moving forwards. He really did hope that he hadn't wasted all this time and effort, only to find out the boy hadn't been here. Perhaps he was a bit delusional, believing in something that logically didn't make sense. It wasn't like him to do something like this, however, he just couldn't help himself. That boy needed help, and in a way he kind of reminded him of himself when he had been really sick. He just couldn't bring himself to leave the kid alone, not when he could help.
Pursing his lips, he looked a bit more frantically for the boy. He didn't have his hopes up, but he did want to find him. The longer he searched, the longer he realized that he'd come here for nothing. Just as he was about to give up, he spotted him. Panting, his eyes widened as he noticed the dejected look on the boys face. He couldn't believe it, the boy had actually been here. Trey had been walking without thinking about much anything aside from where to go from here. He had food and money for a few weeks but after that he’d most likely have to resort to dine and dashing. It wasn’t something he was proud of doing but with his father’s main punishment being lockdown and missed supper and his own desire to not be home-meaning he usually hung out at cafes or restaurants or any place that wasn’t home-meant he had some practice in it. He wasn’t sure what he would do for money to be honest. His father had been set on him battling back home. He had mentioned it was what was expected of Trey and so he hadn’t been really allowed to expand many skills. He liked to draw, he liked photography, but you couldn’t really bring money in with either of them. Thoughts of his father and his current situation brought back the feeling of a vice around his chest and Trey tightened his grip on the strap of his bag and had to remind himself to breathe. Vita made a sound that sounded like concern and Trey centered himself just in time to hear his name called which...made him jump and almost drop his back and unbalancing Vita. ‘Vi’ the Snivy lashed out reaching out a vine to steady herself and glared at Terrence. Trey whispered an apology to his pokemon eyes still wide from the surprise as they took in the person he had been thinking about on the train. But it had been a dream. Hadn’t it. "Terrence?" he asked, hoped. "A-are..you’re real ?"

Terrence hoped that the boy had remembered him, it would be awkward if he didn't. The closer he got, the more his concern grew. The boy was so thin, thinner then he should be. It looked like he wasn't eating right. Don't even get him started on the slight flinch the other boy made at the call of his name, was he wary of other people? Did that mean maybe he'd been bullied, or worse? This might be a bit more difficult then he originally thought it would be.
He came to a still, not wanting to spook the poor boy. He waited, and watched the other boy's movements. He decided to ignore the little grass types glare, he'd known previously that the pokemon hadn't liked him. That was probably more due to Ivy then anything else. He watched as surprise overtook the boy, and he nodded his head in confirmation at he was Terrence. He frowned a bit when the boy had asked if he was real. He shouldn't have been all that surprised that he had asked, after all they had met in a dream. He rubbed the back of his head, "yeah, I'm real... see?" he asked, holding out a hand for him to hold.
Terrence wasn't comfortable enough to hug the other boy himself. They did barely know each other after all. Plus he wasn't sure if Trey would appreciate the sudden physical touch. It was obvious enough that he hadn't reacted well, so he'd let the other boy make the first move. It was the best option for everyone as of right now.

Trey took in what Terrence said..he was..he was real. Terrence was real and he was here. Why was he here...did he..did he come to see him. They had just met and Trey had more or less caused nothing but trouble. He had even made his pokemon mad. But then Terrence had been pretty understanding about that..had even said Trey wasn't that bad...that everyone made mistakes Never mind that Trey made more mistakes than most. A hand was offered and Trey took it, something like relief shooting through him. ''Real ..yeah.. '' he said a bit shakily before composing himself ''I couldn't have made you up..or Ivy.'' he said happy at least his voice had steadied out by the end of it. Vita's glare lessened when she noticed that Terrence seemed to make his trainer..not happy but better than he had been. Trey seemed to want the boy here and no one was making her trainer sad. 'Vi' she said giving the other trainer a small wave '' are you uh....are you gonna challenge the gym leader here'' Trey asked adjusting the duffle he was carrying.

Terrence continued to watch Trey, and the more he saw the more he wondered what exactly caused Trey to respond the way he did. He raised a brow as Trey's hand clasped around his own, and he could see the other boy loosen up a bit. He was surprised that Trey had grabbed his hand as quickly as he did considering how he reacted before. This wasn't a bad development, it meant that Trey at least had some trust in him right?
However, he frowned a bit as Trey responded he was real, his hand shaking. Maybe he had spoken too soon, Trey still seemed pretty unstable around him. Terrence supposed he shouldn't have been surprised by that, they were still strangers after all. Still as Trey spoke up again, he seemed to gain his composure back fairly quickly. At least they were making some progress right?
His eyes wandered over towards Trey's partner, and again he was pleasantly surprised to see the small pokemon offer him a small wave. It was obvious that the pokemon didn't seem to completely trust him yet, but it did at least offer him an olive branch. Terrence would take that as a win, and so he offered a small smile and nodded his head back in greeting. He would have to offer his own truce in response.
His attention turned back towards Trey as the younger boy asked him if he was going to challenge the gym leader here. Terrence didn't really like pokemon battles, but Ivy was rather persistent that he did. After giving it some thought he looked back towards Trey once more "that's right, I'm planning to take on the gym leader here" he responded as he looked over towards the gyms location. Tilting his head he turned back towards Trey "what about you? Do you want to challenge this gym too?" he asked curiously.

Trey couldn't help but glance back at Terrence as they walked, almost as if expecting the other boy to dissapear. It's not like you could blame him until recently, he had thought Terrence was a dream. Still there was something nice about having company-other than Vita. Trey had been alone and stayed alone for most of his -admittedly short- journey. He had told himself it was out of practicality, that it was for the best, but he couldn't lie that having someone around was better. He listened as Terrence said that he had plans to take on the gym leader of the region. He couldn't help but look down when he asked if Trey planned to do the same; couldn't help but hear his father's voice clear as a chinglin's bell. You're not going to disappoint me Treyson, you're going to make something of yourself. "Yeah" he said looking down at his pokeballs (Chance was still a puppy, and Lyra hadn't been used to battle he knew) and... he had never been that good at battling. "Yeah I guess I should" He should because he'd be a failure otherwise and his father (who thankfully was all the way in Unova but who Trey was still wary would know what he was up to) wouldn't stand for failure. Before he could get too lost in his thoughts Vita, who had perched on his shoulder before they started walking out of Twinleaf bunted her head against his cheek. Trey smiled fondly at the little leaf pokemon. He wasn't sure how she was so intuitive, but he'd always be grateful. "Although...honestly I don't really know where the gym leader is." he said to Terrence with a sheepish smile. "Yknow I just got here and...yeah." He couldn't help but drop eye contact after that. Trey didn't really have a plan ( hadn't really thought much past 'run' when he got on that train) hopefully Terrence didn't deem him a lost cause on the spot for that.

Terrence didn't know how to feel when he noticed that Trey continued to glance back at him as they walked. Did he still think that Terrence was a figment of his imagination? That was concerning, what had he gone through that caused him to react like this? He kept his lips sealed, everyone had things they didn't want to talk about... including him. Trey would tell him when he was ready, still he didn't know how long he'd be able to wait if this behavior got any worse. His mind pondered to the dream world where they met up at. He couldn't really blame Trey for thinking he might disappear, they had met outside of reality. Terrence really couldn't blame him for thinking along the lines that he was still trapped in the distant world.
When he answered Trey about going to the gym, he didn't miss how Trey seemed to tense up. He furrowed his brows in concern. Did Trey not like gyms? Trey eventually said yes, but his head was down and he seemed to be a bit distressed. Trey forced out that he should battle. Terrence couldn't stand how he was acting like he didn't have a choice in the matter. It reminded him of how he felt trapped in that white hospital room with no hope to peruse what he wanted to.
He opened his mouth to say something, but shut it as he noticed Vita butt it's head against Trey's cheek, as if trying to bring him back out of his head. Trey seemed to appreciate the gesture, and stated that he didn't really know where to gym leader was, and that he'd just gotten here. The other boy couldn't hold eye contact and quickly looked away.
Was Terrence that intimidating that he couldn't even look at him longer then a few seconds? He felt irritated at that. This boy had such low self esteem he thought he couldn't do anything, and Terrence had to wonder who made him that way. He'd have to give that person a piece of his mind if he ever found out who the scumbag was. Still Terrence wasn't one to sweet talk, if someone didn't try to help Trey he'd never be able to recover from whatever it was that ailed him.
He pondered what to say. He wanted to tell the other boy to get it together, to tell him to stop that self pitying attitude but... he knew that'd probably only make things worse. Usually that's what he would have said if they had just met at this very moment. However, after spending sometime with him he just couldn't bring himself to be brutally honest as he normally would have been. He ran a hand through his hair deep in thought "you don't have to do gym battles if you really don't want to, there's no shame in pursuing a different path... plenty of people do" he said, stuffing his hands in his packet.
He walked forward, leading the way "still if you feel like you have no choice, participate in a gym battle or two and then decide. It's not the end of the world if you experience it and then make the decision that it's not the right path for you. I'm not much of a fan of battling myself but... if I want to get stronger to one day go down the path I truly want then... I'll gladly take up this path for a short while" he answered.
Pursing his lips, he looked back at Trey "everyone has a choice Trey, no one else has the right to tell you what path to choose. No one can tell you what's right or what's wrong, only you can make that choice. All we can do in the end is accept the consequences of the choices we make... I don't want to have regrets, what about you?" he asked, before turning back forwards and walking towards the exit.
He didn't stop walking as he spoke out his last words "so choose Trey. Are you going to follow what others tell you to do, or are you going to make that decision for yourself? I plan to go to the gym leader, so follow me if that's the path you want to walk. There's nothing wrong with going along with what path was chosen for you for awhile but... eventually you'll need to make a choice to follow your own will or be a slave to someone else's. Whatever you choose, you're more then welcome to come along with me" he said, before leaving.
It may have been harsh, and if Terrence was honest if Trey didn't follow him he'd probably go back to find him and apologize. However, this was just who he was. He wasn't a nice person, and he wouldn't help someone when they truly didn't need it. Terrence honestly believes that these are words that Trey has to hear right now. He just hopes it doesn't push the boy completely away from him.
