Well he’d fight off anyone who dared to try and constrain him and his team!
Ignoring the continued noise he ushered his team to continue following along. If they could maybe just find a body of water he felt they would be set. He looked to the sky for direction, though he didn’t have a clue how one read weather patterns or even used them to figure out where water was. Teeg was the last to show and surprisingly, didn’t seem all that tired. It must’ve been the turtleness. Esben, once his team was accounted for, took Flef from Byr and directed his gaze at the groups of people traveling towards some… metal box thing? He wasn’t entirely sure but he did know bodies meant cover. And cover meant escaping Duncan!

Terrence walked into the small town, Ivy to his left and Az to his right. Ever since Az evolved, he could no longer stay perched on his shoulders like before. He'd gotten too big for that now, and for some reason his pokemon thought it's be a great idea to sandwich him between them in order to 'better protect him'. Terrence sighed, he couldn't exactly persuade them to stop... Terrence did have a medical condition. Still he had hoped that they wouldn't baby him all the time. However, Terrence humored them since he knew how important this was to them. They were a family after all.
The town was very small, Terrence had read a lot about this region. It had some rare herbs he could study here, that was one of the biggest reasons he left Kanto and came here. Though now he'd have to battle the first gym here instead of continuing on with the Kanto gyms. It was a small price to pay for research. Besides, battling gyms was more for his pokemon than himself. Terrence wasn't much of a fighter, he was more like the medic of the group. His pokemon wanted to get stronger, and they enjoyed battling. So why should Terrence take that joy away from them? As their trainer, he needed to keep them happy and healthy Mentally and physically.

Terrence looked up as he came to a stop by the post that explained which path lead to which route. Terrence tilted his chin "hmmm... we're in Twin Leaf town right now, and I need to get to the town that has the first gym so..." he trailed off, before reaching into his bag. He gently pulled out a journal, before flipping through its pages to find what he was looking for. Az seemed to poke his head forwards, trying to see what it was that Terrence was looking for. Ivy on the other hand simply watched the town and the townspeople. She didn't seem all that concerned, this was a small town after all.
However, that didn't mean she wasn't on guard just in case. While Ivy didn't obey Terrence's commands in battles yet, she was still very protective of him outside of battles. She always used the excuse that he wasn't 'ready to use her power yet'... whatever that meant. Terrence wasn't exactly raring to use Ivy as a battle machine, he was quite content with just her presence alone. He didn't need her to fight, especially if she didn't want to. Terrence would never force his pokemon to do something they didn't want to do. Not unless it was a life or death situation.

Terrence shook his head, clearing his thoughts. Right, he was trying to find out where the first gym was. Looking back down at the book in his hands, his fingers trailed against the pages until he finally found a map of the region. Pursing his lips, his eyes scanned the map. Oh man, It seemed like he'd have to go through two other area's before he even made it to the first gym in this region. Sighing, Terrence placed the journal back into his bag before turning towards to correct path. Maybe he should rest once they reached the next town?
Terrence pursed his lips, it might be wise to get some rest between towns. After all, Terrence wasn't exactly one with a lot of stamina, and it would make his pokemon feel better if he did at least take small breaks. With that settled, Terrence moved forwards towards the next area.

Skia stepped out front of the Professor's lab and smelled the air. Today was the day, the first day of her own Pokemon journey. She jumped in the air throwing a fist up. "Yahoo, crazy Pokemon Trainer skills activate!" she made a motion on her arm as if she was loading it like a gun. "Church church" she felt sound effects were important to every situation. After all they make everything cooler .
She attached a belt around her waist she had been hiding in her bag and placed Two Twigs ball on it. She took a deep breath, grabbed the edges of her jacket. Tugging at them so they were in line with her backpack and started walking.

She really couldn't decide what she wanted to do first. Maybe go to the first Gym? Or battle some Pokemon? No! She thought to herself, she needed to catch a bunch of Pokemon and makes tons of new friends. This way they could kick tons of butt together in battles and be ready for Gyms. What Pokemon should she try to catch though? She sighed as she walked. She missed the Pokemon back home they would be the perfect additions. Skia was certain that they would be great friends with Two Twigs. She slammed a fist down onto the palm of her hand. Perfect she thought, we need Pachirisu and Emolga.
She could see the edge of town up ahead and it made her even more excited. There was no way it was hidden either, she had a wide smile and was absolutely brimming with her strut.
She made it to the edge of town and stopped. Skia grabbed the Pokeballs off her waist and looked at it. "You ready Two Twigs?" she spoke towards the ball as if the Pokemon could hear her. "No telling what could be past this point but I know one thing for sure. We are gonna be such good friends"
A Pokemon yelled and grabbed her attention. She looked up but was unable to see where the noise was coming from. Skia moved her hands up to her eyes using her index finger and thumb to pretend to open them wider "Go go Golurk eyes activate Two Twigs, there's danger about" she started to march forward towards the grass out of the town.
Lakshmi thanked the professor and, at his request, left the lab so that the chimp didn't cause the poor lab assistants any more problems when Lakshmi inevitably let it out of its pokeball. "Pokémon laboratories are quite used to unruly pokemon. I'm surprised that this one has managed to cause so much trouble that even they must request that it not be allowed out of its ball inside." Osma mused. "That would explain why we were called. If they were able to handle this themselves, then they would have." Lakshmi chuckled, though their face grew more stern as they looked at the pokeball in hand. They were a decent distance away now, so it shouldn't hurt to take a look... "Prepare yourself Osma, I'm letting it out now." Osma nodded and took up a defensive stance, the Lakshmi tossed the pokeball into the air.
At first, the small chimp sat quite still, almost sleepy as if it had just woken up from a nap. Had the professor given them the wrong chimchar? This one seemed perfectly harmless. Then, Lakshmi and Osma tensed, sensing the dark, malevolent aura that began to creep in as the monkey regained consciousness. "Th....This aura...." Lakshmi felt their blood run cold. They had heard tales of a far off desert region called Orre. There, a group of people had done terrible experiments on pokemon, closing their hearts and forcing them to be terribly viscous fighters known as Shadow Pokémon, named appropriately for the malevolent auras that people like Lakshmi could sense. This chimchar was almost certainly one such pokemon. Lakshmi had feared as much, but the sensation of the fire-type's aura was far more than they had anticipated.
"Chiiiiii!!!!!" An angry screech pulled Lakshmi back to their senses. "Master, look out!" Osma quickly grabbed Lakshmi and pulled them out of harm's way as a dark pulse of shadow energy went waving past, but it was too late. The dark energy hit Lakshmi and quickly overtook them into unconsciousness.

As Lakshmi returned to the waking world, they found themselves laying on the grass in the middle of town. A few concerned onlookers were keeping their distance but monitoring Lakshmi's movements. It seemed that the Lucario meditating by their side was looking after Lakshmi, so they hoped everything was alright. It was still certainly a strange sight to see someone passed out in such a small, quiet, eventless town. Lakshmi felt a little bad for worrying them, but once he'd sat up, it seemed to assuage their fears that he was badly injured, and they began to disperse.
Lakshmi looked around while Osma slowly came to consciousness as well. "We should retrieve more of our allies." Lakshmi suggested. He had left a few of his pokemon in his PC for safe keeping while he was away, for he didn't expect to be doing much besides traveling to Sinnoh and picking up a pokemon before heading right back. Frankly, it was quite embarrassing that he'd gone and lost the pokemon almost immediately after receiving it. Lakshmi sighed and placed their hands together to quietly pray for patience and thank Arceus for this lesson in humility, for that was how they interpreted this turn of events.
However, that didn't stop him from entering the lab once more and politely requesting to use their PC to pull out a few of his pokemon before thanking them and leaving once more.

After picking up the rest of the team, Osma spoke up once they had left the professor's lab again. "Master, are you certain that we need help...? I understand that I failed you once, but I swear it will not happen again, you have my word." The lucario bowed his head, and Lakshmi gave him a gentle smile. "You did not fail me Osma, and this is not meant to be a punishment. We simply weren't prepared for what took place. That is no one's fault, and this is my way of better preparing. The more allies we have at our side, the faster we shall find our unruly ward." Lakshmi insisted. "Besides, I know what this is really about." They added with a gentle but chiding tone, and Osma's ears flattened in shame.
The Lucario should have known better than to try and hide his feelings from Lakshmi. It was no use. His aura was tainted with unease and disgust towards one of their allies and Lakshmi knew it. "I realize that you bear resentment with Ginseng, but for now you two must put aside your differences for the sake of finding this chimchar. We should not allow wounded pride to get the better of us when people and pokemon could be in danger." Grumbling and gritting his teeth, Osma reluctantly agreed. Lakshmi was right, of course, but the lucario still couldn't help himself. That damned medicham brought out the worst in him, and knew just how to push his buttons.

In spite of Osma's objections, Lakshmi brought out Ginseng's pokeball and tossed it into the air, releasing the medicham in tree pose as if finishing her morning stretches. "I see I am needed. What did the dog fail to do now?" She asked without opening an eye. Her comment earned sharp looks from both Osma and Lakshmi, though one was out of anger while the other was frustrated with her attitude. "Ginseng, I have raised you better than that. Please don't make such provoking comments." The medicham didn't seem phased by Lakshmi's scolding. "And yet you have need of my help because he alone cannot accomplish what you want. Am I wrong?" Finally, the medicham opened her eyes and relaxed her pose with a stretch, meeting Lakshmi's hard mint gaze. Her trainer didn't respond to the barb, but she sighed nonetheless and turned to scan the area. "....Yes master, I apologize." She threw a haughty look over her shoulder at the Lucario. "Allow me to clean up this mess, as usual." And with that, she teleported out of sight.
Osma let out a frustrated growl and dashed into the woods after her. "Osmanthus!" Lakshmi called after him, but it was no use. Ginseng had successfully taunted him. He supposed this was to be expected. Ever since the two pokemon were a little riolu and meditite, they'd had a long standing rivalry of sorts. Lakshmi wasn't sure what had started it or spurred it on, but he had never really been able to work it out with them. Still, Lakshmi didn't recall it ever being quite this bad. Ever since Osma had gotten that megastone, Ginseng had really turned up the ire towards him. Perhaps she was jealous of his mega evolution? Did she seek to prove herself? He would have to talk to her privately at some point.
